Liverpool stroll past Watford 5-0 as Mohamed Salah single-handedly ensures a bumper haul for most Fantasy Premier League (FPL) managers despite Gameweek 31’s reduced schedule.

The Egyptian was captained by 1.9 million (33.8%), 93 of the top 100 FPL managers and, as revealed by Ragabolly in his new article, 88.8% of the top 10,000.

A further 20,137 used their Triple Captain chip on him – 77.8% of the 25,883 played.

All that backing paid off as Salah delivered a first hat-trick in a Liverpool shirt, with four goals in total (from four shots), an assist and maximum bonus points bringing in a season’s best tally – by any player – of 29 points.

The records he’s accruing stretch ever further.

He’s now scored or assisted in 13 of his 15 home starts this season (17 goals and six assists), netted in his last six home Gameweeks (11 goals) and produced 14 double-figure scores in all.

For all these reasons, even without a double Gameweek to come, Salah surely has to be retained by all bar the bravest of managers.

Liverpool’s fixtures (cry eve BOU wba STK che BHA) are certainly strong enough to support more Salah hauls, but the situation is not so clear-cut for Liverpool’s other attackers.

More than 531,000 managers brought in either Roberto Firmino or Sadio Mane ahead of today’s deadline and both delivered.

The latter produced two assists for Salah, both somewhat fortunate as the main man did most of the work to score from them, but it was a fourth successive Gameweek of returns from Mane nonetheless.

Firmino, meanwhile, was denied a first-half strike by a smart Orestis Karnezis save, but got his goal with an audacious flick from Salah’s cross after the break.

The Brazilian now has three goals and two assists from the last five starts, but he is arguably now disposable as managers move for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Romelu Lukaku and Jamie Vardy ahead of their forthcoming double Gameweeks.

That trio are already among the top four most bought ahead of Gameweek 32, although Firmino is currently right behind them in fifth.

Firmino and Mane’s form could also have a bearing on those pondering the Gameweek 32 or 33 Wildcard.

Liverpool go to Palace next and have three of the next four away from Anfield.

Firmino has three goals and two assists from his last six away trips. Indeed, two goals and an assist have arrived over his last three, with the recent defeat at Manchester United his only blank in that run.

Mane has been less productive – he has just a single goal and two assists from his last six appearances on the road. That last strike away from home came back in Gameweek 22 at Burnley.

The other factor to consider is that Liverpool face their Champions League Quarter Final with Manchester City four days after the trip to Palace, with the second leg to follow the Merseyside derby in Gameweek 33. Rotation has not been a concern when considering the Liverpool front three for several months, but this period will certainly be a test for Klopp’s resolve in that respect.

Elsewhere, those managers who didn’t solely invest in the Liverpool front three enjoyed a clean sheet – the side’s 13th of the season – from the likes of Virgil van Dijk and the excellent Andrew Robertson, who boosted his reputation with a superb cross for Salah’s second goal.

That was the full-back’s second assist in four Gameweeks, although there was no such joy for Trent Alexander-Arnold’s 3.9% ownership as Joe Gomez returned to the starting line-up after a five-match absence.

Even Robertson’s first double-digit haul of the season is unlikely to save him, or any of his backline colleagues, as managers look for defenders with double Gameweeks to potentially boost their returns.

Substitute Danny Ings set up the final goal on a record-breaking FPL day when many managers ended up with 100+ points from just the four matches played.

If you got 7 million ITB would you spread it on three 8 million plus midfielders or get rid of Niasse for a 11 million plus striker?

        Got him for Kane.

My midfield isn't that good but I also got Niasse.

Weak links are Niasse, Walcott, Shaquri and Stanislas.

Think it's ok to Give Stanislas a couple of games but the other three are not worth keeping.

    RMWCT
0.8 ITB if Alonso and DDG fall:

    De Gea - Fabianski
    Alonso - Bailly - Christensen - Fernandez - Lowton
    Salah - Mahrez - Son - Willian - Stanislas
    Auba - Firmino - Barnes

Lack of City coverage bothers me - but Pep could rotate very heavily once they've won the league and due to the CL. Stanislas will stay for 2 GWs and then make way for a DGW 34 midfielder. I'd like an Arsenal defender instead of Christensen, but I can't find any that are nailed on.

Ya I'm surprised not to see Groß or Murray in more WC squads. I'm on Murray at the moment. Not sure about Hazard. For a player I'm not going to captain, he's a little expensive and Chelsea are a bit hit and miss lately. Alonso a better Chelsea pick than Haz imo. Shame Willian's gametime is so unpredictable

      1. the snazzy viking
        • 9 Years

Interesting point of view - that differs from mine as I'd be considering triple captaining him for GW37 and possibly (c) for GW34 too

I think it's a gutsy call that could either massively backfire or could turn my season around

I'm not going to go with the template WC team as my TV is too light to compete with it - and plus where's the fun in celebrating a goal from a highly owned player? - hence I think Gross + Murray could stand out as great enables to fit in these differential attackers

Seeing a lot of Duffy which is even more surprising. Brutal fixtures after 34.

Willian is very very tempting. Even with his rotation risk. He's been their best player and it seems Conte is not going to play both Giroud and Morata at the same time. Pedro hasn't impressed.

          • 9 Years

mainly got Ryan there for the save potential and he rotates nicely with DDG for 1 or 2 of his tricky games - also good for Bench Boost

Willian for sure is a decent and affordable pick however he is most definitely not a captaincy option, which discredits his DGW potential for me. Also he may be highly owned which puts me off

        2. Pep says
          • 10 Years

Mmm Duffy's goals will probably start rolling in knowing my luck with defenders goals.

I wouldn't want more than 1 Brighton player personally as I'll only have 1ft into 36 and my Brighton player will need to go

Ya and it's usually a waste of time. We've seen players' prices rise out of no where this season, what can happen is you get someone who rises 0.1m who is never gonna get a double rise and the player you actually want rises from a delta of 50% and people start winging about it. Get the players you want. Forget the rest cause international breaks do not have the most price rises compared to other gameweeks

Would be nice if you could select a gameweek and remove it from the ticker (gw35) for example. Also it would be great if you could see what date a fixture is on when you hold your finger on a team's upcoming fixture.

Anyone else got anything features they'd like to see added. I know this won't happen anytime soon but maybe over the summer if you find time

If he does I can sell him for 0.1m profit - giving me an extra 0.1m if I bring in Son before he rises.

Shall I wait it out hoping that Son doesn't rise in the meantime, or just do Mane -> Son from now?

      It's Mahrez or Vardy then

Don't already have Firmino, so looking at Vardy + Mahrez.
