After starting our series of members’ articles on Wildcard targets with a look at Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang, our sights turn to another in-demand frontman.

With Harry Kane and Sergio Aguero currently nursing injuries, Romelu Lukaku’s recent resurgence has not gone unnoticed by Fantasy Premier League managers.

Three goals and a pair of assists in the last five Gameweeks, allied with a trio of strikes over four cup outings in the same timeframe, means that the Man United striker is the second most bought player in FPL ahead of Gameweek 32.

Following a barren autumn period, Lukaku seems to have stepped up his output following the arrival of Alexis Sanchez.

With two double Gameweeks anticipated for the Red Devils, can the Belgian claim a place in our frontlines for the run-in?

    Anyone leading towards FH37?
I've been set on FH35 for ages. But now I'm just leaning towards FH37
No real reasons why. Gut feelings. Might change again when fixtures are realeased

      I am. It's like a second WC.

Only drawback is triple captain conundrum. Might stick it on Salah GW38

Agreed, very frustrating, Kane 'maybe' returning in time for the double is annoying too, had a plan in place to bring him back in for the Watford match in 36.

Burnley's double gameweek is likely awful. Newcastle's is good.

How much in the bank? Low team value? Ideally:

      Barnes to Murray
      Robertson to Fernandez
Christensen to Alderweireld in an ideal world.
And money to deal with Hennessey.

Maybe not good but better than it could have been (for an attacker). In DGW 37, they'll be away to Watford and away to Spurs.

Burnley are away to Arsenal and home to Chelsea.

Okay, looking at it again, maybe the difference isn't so vast. The point is it won't be the expected GW 34 one.

Rotation risks, potential complacency and only a DGW in 37 (when the league is already won). If they had one in GW 34, I think most would pick one.

I certainly hope you've nailed it, because my WC team has only four changes:

I don't think Arsenal will have a GW 34. If they do, it depends on form and Kane's fitness.

Kane’s fitness has become another big issue even after the dgw fixtures are confirmed. If he’s fit for 34 can’t go without him but can’t even go with as he won’t be fit for 32.

            1. Prøfeßör …
              • 9 Years
              8 years, 1 month ago

True. We'll have to go without him and assess in GW 34 (basically if fit, he comes in). The GW 33 wildcarders may have an even bigger dilemma about whether to bring him in or not.

True and that all important Semi against United means Kane could even be rested if for the easier dgw fixtures if not fully fit. Still I think we will need to keep a player with Kane’s money banked in him just in case.

GW34 will have only 4 or 5 fixtures most likely that’s why.

If there are 4 dgw fixtures in 34 then yes.

          But if there are 5 dgw fixtures in 34 then BB34, FH35 & TC37.

Is Hazard worth it over Willian, means sacrificing Alonso?

Just thinking that he could start more games than Willian. Hazard currently only on 7% ownership. Currently 200k OR and want to try and make some inroads that last few GW's.

Concerned about Christensen. Didn't he go off the last game with a groin issue? Alonso is alot of fun to watch. Would be horrible not to pick him on WC and watch him go on a run.

Yeah, I think so. Take chances by bringing in a lot of double gameweek players, not in this way, imo. Hazard is just too expensive.

I would keep, Murray. You'll probably need him if this is true. D Silva or Willian and upgrade the defence (and what do you think of Lukaku)?

Yeah I think I'll downgrade Willian to Kennedy then upgrade Mustafi to Alonso.

As for Lukaku I just don't know. He's been awful for the last two thirds of the season. I'm inclined to steer clear.

Wildcard active. If I save gw33 transfer, and use just 1 ft for gw34, and then free hit in gw35:

    1) will I have 2 FTs in GW36

Time to give the comments section a break until the rescheduled fixtures are realised.

It’s the same RMWCT posts with the exact same 3 templates of: a) power 3 forwards b) power 5 midfield or c) Alonso v Vardy

    It’s getting tiresome.

Hopefully the return will be sooner rather than later though. It’s nothing personal.

It’s all the same over and over. When you change to one template, people argue for another.

    DDG, Fab
    Azpi, Robertson, Smalling, Lowton, vdH
    Salah, Willian, Son, Mahrez, Ki
    Auba, Firmino, Barnes

    1) Looks good
    2) Azpi, Willian > Christensen, Sterling
    3) Azpi, Willian > Monreal, DSilva
    4) Azpi, Son > Ota, Sterling (get Son back after gw35)
