We continue our series of Monitor members’ articles on Gameweek 34 targets by assessing Brighton and Hove Albion schemer, Pascal Gross.

Although Mohamed Salah has redefined the term “successful debut season”, the German’s rookie campaign deserves its share of recognition.

Following a summer arrival from FC Ingolstadt, Gross has proven himself a standout candidate among budget midfield options. The playmaker has quickly earned a reputation as a premium creative force at the Premier League level, racking up some of the most impressive creativity metrics of any player.

Moreover, with two Double Gameweeks – one confirmed for Gameweek 34, and the latter expected to fall in or around Gameweek 37 – still to come this season, Gross is set to remain at the forefront of plans, with or without the Wildcard at our disposal.

Yeah maybe Willian to Gross, downgrade Smalling and then Christensen to Alonso if you can afford it?

I have a similar team to you mate, I'm going with Christensen and Smalling I think, worth the risk (which I admit is there but Conte loves Chrisensen by the looks of it he hasn't been dropped since came in minus the injuries, Smalling I'm maybe a bit worried about but for me Jones is the only threat and he's only 0.1 more atm so you could use a transfer if absolutely necessary).

Don't drop Willian for Gross I think you'd miss serious points

      Lovely team bro!

      How does the following look?

      DDG (Pope)
Chilwell. Robertson. Mee (Van Hoorn. Dunk)
      Mahrez. Salah. Sterling. Stanislas (Young)
      Firmino. Vardy. Lukaku

      GW33: Sterling - Son
      GW34: Stan + Firm = Willian + Barnes. Bench Boost. 12 DGW + 3 LIV

How is that for a plan? First attempt at trying to get my head around this

Mustafi or Monreal for the next two GWs?

Koscielny's back problem and injury history should see him be preserved for the EL, which leaves Mustafi as the only experienced natural CB, unless Monreal would fill in there. Monreal is a headache with Kolasinac if he's going to be saved for the EL.

    Who's the safer pick?

    1. Rash

Mustafi probs safest but if I knew monreal would play I'd go him easily

      WC33
      BB/TC34
      FH35
      TC/BB37

On WC I avoid all known extra risks if I can. A health issue like this is not too predictable. So even if everything is fine, what we all hope, he just might have to go home the next day.

    BB 37, no TC available

    DDG - Fabianski
    Morgan - Mee - Alonso - Bailly - Alderweireld (*)
    Mahrez - Son - Willian - Salah - King
    Firmino - J Ayew - Aub

Kane plan if he's on dynamite by 37: Aub/Firm -> Kane/rashford (or other)
    Alternatively, Firm/Son -> Kane/5.4 mid

    * I will replace alderweireld with vertonghen in case he doesn't play vs saudi arabia on tuesday

    What think?
Wanted to have DSilva, but too much uncertainty. Getting King instead opened up Alonso / Alderweireld upgrades

With King, Fab and Ayew 3 Swa slots are used up

Think this is best I can come up with on WC with no FH, BB week 34 and TC in week 37. Does it look OK to go? Some compromises to get decent number out in week 35 and have decent number of double week players for weeks 34 and 37. I know pre planning tempts fate but helps to have one I think. Hope it helps others with no FH

    * 11 double week players which includes Lukaku for Aubameyang on a free transfer.

    # 8 week 35 players which includes Lukaku back to Aubameyang. Will take -4 to get a Swansea and MCity player bring team up to 10

Plan to get Kane (if fit) for Aubameyang in week 36 and TC him in 37. Will have 9 or 10 double players in 37 assuming fixtures go as expected.

    De Gea*
    Alonso* Monreal# Robertson#
    Salah# Son* Mahrez* Willian* Gudmundsson*#
    Aubameyang# Firmino#

    Ryan* Barnes*# Lowton*# Morgan*

Prefer Miki to Son or Willian for that Spurs v Chelsea fixture.

Also Mustafi less like likely to be rotated than Monreal I think.

I'm in same boat as you and I'm BB in 37 where I can get 13 DGWers out and also means I can get strong team out next two weeks with the likes of Auba Miki Holebas Kaku.

TC I'll go Kaku or Mahrez in 34 or maybe even Salah home to Stoke if City knock them out.

    How does the following look

    DDG (Pope)
Chilwell. Robertson. Mee (Van Hoorn. Dunk)
    Mahrez. Salah. Sterling. Stanislas (Young)
    Firmino. Vardy. Lukaku

    GW33: Sterling - Son
    GW34: Stan + Firm = Willian + Barnes. Bench Boost. 12 DGW + 3 LIV

How is that for a plan? First attempt at trying to get my head around this

    The VAM BAM anti-Vardy wildcard:
    De Gea/Ryan
    Valencia, Vertonghen, Alonso, Maguire, Lowton
    Salah, Son, Mahrez, Willian, Groß
    Barnes, Aubameyang, Murray

Auba becomes Lukaku (c) in 34.
Murray might become Austin in 34.
Groß and Lukaku can become Ki/Fernandinho and Kane in 36.
    Thoughts?

Double Brighton only comes into play at home to Huddersfield. Austin* has the better double I feel, an excellent fixture in 36 and better double in 37. *if fit of course

I also feel most people's defences are very weak considering the value for money premium defenders offer is far superior to the likes of Vardy. Perfect for bench boost season.

My unsexy GW 32 team. 🙁

    DDG
    Lowton - Schindler - Francis
    Salah - Mane - Mahrez - Stanislas
    Aubameyang - Firmino - King

    Pereira - Walcott - Keane - Hunemeier

3.5m in the bank. -4 hit.

Hope this lot does the job.

I was all set to BB in GW34. Think there are lots of variables at play to do it in GW37, not least that a lot of teams will have thrown the towel in. Also, since I'm WC-ing now, I'm able to set up my team with GW34 top of mind.

However, I've just had a proper look at the fixtures. Morgan is just about the only cheap asset I can see getting good returns. Maybe Gudmundsson. But Burnley's fixtures aren't great. I'd more or less write off good returns for Brighton, Southampton and Bournemouth.

In GW37, I could see myself tripling up on Swansea, and maybe getting a Newcastle / Southampton asset in. There could be some decent points in those games.

Bench Boost in 37 could well be full of rotation. Too late in the season. Best go now.

Leaning towards BB 37 and getting high on Swansea assets. Thinking of Fabianski, King and J Ayew
If I could have 4, would go with VDH in defense. Now would have to settle for dummet probably
