Wildcards are very much active among the ScoutCast crew, and while only three of us make this latest episode, all five are in play ahead of the Double Gameweeks.

Not surprisingly, our rebuilding programme dominates the discussion as Jonty and Andy join me to reveal our current squads and our chosen strategy leading into the remaining seven Gameweeks.

In an exhaustive and in-depth episode, the three of us also look back on the success of the Free Hit in Gameweek 31. Then we attempt to offer a balanced view on the variety of chip tactics from this point on, with a team-by-team analysis of the player targets to consider.

We fail miserably of course, with our own bias no doubt shining through, though the conclusion is an uplifting one: whatever your chosen route with the chips to Gameweek 38, we will all win out in the end.

Unless you don’t have your Wildcard and Free Hit, in which case you’re now consigned to spending the next two months behind the sofa and hate us all anyway.

This ScoutCast was first beamed live via our YouTube channel on Tuesday evening. Be sure to subscribe to get notice of future live episodes.

If you’re a traditional type, you can acquire the mp3 audio version via this link on the first player below, or take in the full visual experience via the second player below.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Thoughts on my WC (No FHC left)

    DDG - Hennessy
    Morgan - Mustafi - Smalling - Tark - Lowton
Mahrez- Willian - Son - Salah - Gudmundsson
    Aub- Vardy - Murray
    1.2 ITB

This leaves me 7 players for GW 35 with no transfers, unless I switch Aub->Luk for GW 34 and 11 players for BB in 34

    I think I'm set..

    DDG Ryan
    Smalling Vertonghen Monreal Christensen Lowton
    Son Mahrez Salah Willian Izquierdo
    Aubameyang Barnes Vardy

    GW33 - Save FT
    DGW34 - BB + Aubameyang > Lukaku
    BGW35 - FH
    GW36 - Downgrade Monreal + Lukaku > Kane
    DGW37 - Barnes > Ayew, TC
    GW38 - Go crazy

    Thoughts/suggestions appreciated!

      Really like the Izquierdo punt.

I'd be extremely cautious of Monreal. He's managing a back problem and will be spared for the Europa League when possible. Mustafi a bit more nailed on and 0.1 cheaper

        He's a great enabler!

Good shout on Mustafi. I'd forgotten about the Monreal injury news, so will probably switch them round.

Great team and plan. Sorry if stating the obvious but you'd lose your extra transfer when free hitting so would be taking a - 4 for Kane

12 GW34 DGWers and 3 non- DGWers... but I think Mariappa will outscore cheap DGWers and so Kennedy is the big question

    B Vardy Son Bailly Mustafi(Smalling/Jones)

    Have Lukaku

    WC effort. BB'ing 37.
    FH 35.

Hoping to get Lukaku/Kane in with some downgrades here or there.
Trying to be flexible and willing to remove 3/4 players over the next few GW's depending on form.

    DDG.
    Mustafi, Smalling, Lowton.
    Mahrez, Salah, Gross, Son.
Barnes, Aubameyang, Firmino*(may become Vardy to save 0.3m).
    Fabianski, Alonso, Fernandez, Willian.
    0.0m in account.

Hiya lads, be mad traffic on here tomorrow so thought i’d post my final WC team that i’m settled on and see what you reckon? Looking ok?

    DDG
    Mustafi - Alonso - Bailly
    Mahrez - Son - Salah - Willian
    Firmino - Vardy - Aubameyang
    ————————————————-
    Ryan: Cork, Morgan, Lowton

Shall have to do some shuffling if i want more GW35 players with FT’s, and no FH chip left.
Shall BB in GW34, TC in GW37

Happy as i can be with it, GTG? Appreciate any responses.

      1. Salah’s Sonnet

        8 years, 2 months ago

Thanks man, to be honest, i can’t fully nail down why i won’t bring him in, i just don’t think he is explosive for the price he is. For a chunk of budget that big, you need some confidence in that player, and i have like 10% confidence in him at a stretch. He could do well against Swansea, but then go missing again for another few matches.
Everyone is different though, just not feeling the risk with him.

        1. Zilla

Good reasoning and makes sense. Do you have a plan to bring in Kane or you don't fancy his price as well?

            • 14 Years
            8 years, 2 months ago

Haha, well, Kane is quite a different animal. I have doubts that he’ll hit the ground running upon his return, but you have to make an exception for Kane imo, everyone will jump on him.
Off the top of my head, maybe Auba + Willian > Kenedy + Kane, or Vardy + Firmino > Kane + Barnes maybe.
Dependent on form and what happens between now and then though to be sure.

      The scoutcast 🙂

I hadn't actually realised how similar they had been scoring. Also going Vardy saves me a transfer later down the line plus that 0.3 I saved will make it slightly easier to get Kane back.

It was certainly with a heavy heart though

    3. Sonny “The Hitman&rdq…

Not Viper... but I am about to do it... I tried in vain to hold Firmy, but I really wanted Auba and Kaku to save a future transfer in case I needed to use transfers bring in Kane. DDG and Verty and Alonso are nailed on defenders I wanted.

      1. Sonny “The Hitman&rdq…
        • 9 Years

Also, Firmino rotation with games near CL games is a real issue

    4. ZimZalabim
      • 9 Years
      8 years, 2 months ago

selling bobby lets me upgrade my def as well and saves me a transfer down the line but I think im gonna hold him for the next two weeks.

For me it was never a Vardy or Firmino situation as I own both so I guess its easier to hold. Don't see the point in getting Vert yet, will get a spurs def in 36-37 so its a matter of smalling to bailly and gudmundsson to gross and I'm fine keeping those two for now.

I could stretch to Bailly and downgrade Gud to Ibe but that doesnt look as good for 34.

Best possible 11 for this gw? (Accidentally activated my free hit chip when I was drunk)

      DDG (SWA) 3.9
Lascelles (HUD) Mustafi (STK) Valencia (SWA) 3.9 3.9
Arnie (SOU) Salah (cry) Mikhi (STK) Mahrez (bha) 4.2
Jesus (eve) Firmino (cry) Auba (STK)

Sorry for the repost. This is the one with the corrected options. Apologies.

Over there next 2 weeks, who scores more points?

      A. Swansea/Wat def + Gross(will start Verto or Morgan this week and bench the Swa guy)
      Or
      B. Mustafi + Barnes

Just the next 2 games, no relation to gw35 or 37.

People on wc now, dont you guys think we will need both kane and lukaku for the dgw now as kane should play little from stoke bench and then be full fit for dgw? So for now to fit auba plus lukaku, is alonso/willian worth the removal or keep son for slaughter to downgrade when kane is back?

3 goals or more in nearly 50% of their games ...

That is why you need 3 - covers rotation and brings in the gravy.

I will be going heavy on them in 36, either they are out of CL and will be playing for fun with Pep letting the first team have a run out, or if still in the Cup they may rotate and B Silva, Jesus and one of Sane/Sterling maybe will be filling their boots

Yeah you might take a punt on Maguire. Spurs def is an option too.

One is a talented player that takes set pieces and the other a big agricultural lump that takes penalties.

Depends if you like vintage tractors or not really.

It's just an iffy place for them, no reason why, they got beat 4-0 last time. Even at home Baggies beat them this season... do you think bogey teams exist?

No, that was really helpful. i’d probably play kenedy.
Just always a fear to bench a striker.

Anyone getting Kane in for 33?

Stk(A) could be a differential captain actually as many have sold him?

Or are we waiting till 36 to get him in?

      WC effort. BB'ing 37.
      FH 35.

Hoping to get Lukaku/Kane in with some downgrades here or there.
Trying to be flexible and willing to remove 3/4 players over the next few GW's depending on form.

      DDG.
      Mustafi, Smalling, Alonso.
      Mahrez, Salah, Gross, Willian, Son.
Aubameyang, Firmino*(may become Vardy to save 0.3m).
      Fabianski, Barnes, Lowton, Fernandez.
      0.0m in account.
      Thoughts?
