Wildcards are very much active among the ScoutCast crew, and while only three of us make this latest episode, all five are in play ahead of the Double Gameweeks.

Not surprisingly, our rebuilding programme dominates the discussion as Jonty and Andy join me to reveal our current squads and our chosen strategy leading into the remaining seven Gameweeks.

In an exhaustive and in-depth episode, the three of us also look back on the success of the Free Hit in Gameweek 31. Then we attempt to offer a balanced view on the variety of chip tactics from this point on, with a team-by-team analysis of the player targets to consider.

We fail miserably of course, with our own bias no doubt shining through, though the conclusion is an uplifting one: whatever your chosen route with the chips to Gameweek 38, we will all win out in the end.

Unless you don’t have your Wildcard and Free Hit, in which case you’re now consigned to spending the next two months behind the sofa and hate us all anyway.

This ScoutCast was first beamed live via our YouTube channel on Tuesday evening. Be sure to subscribe to get notice of future live episodes.

If you’re a traditional type, you can acquire the mp3 audio version via this link on the first player below, or take in the full visual experience via the second player below.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Got 6.9 to spend on a defender for these 2 weeks (at least) before selling to make money for Kane. Mustafi the best option? Or should that money be spent to upgrade Kenedy instead (7.2 to spend in this case)?

Yeah definitely an arsenal defender. Watford have two good fixtures too and you could bank the change.

Put a quarter of your team value on the bench and then with limited minutes. While Auba and Lukaku bang them in. I thought you were joking.

            A quarter?
How do you know Lukaku and Auba are going to score?
I mean, your point stands...but I wish to refute the above anyway.

Wouldn't you rather have a fit Lukaku and Auba over a limited minutes with no form or fitness Kane?

                • 11 Years
                8 years, 14 days ago

His form is not something to ever question...apparently he's been in training already, has a plum away fixture in Stoke. My gut is screaming no to Auba. Don't trust him, or Arsenal, Lacazette allegedly back in the picture so he could easily get subbed after 60 minutes. Lukaku is Lukaku. Hardly explosive. Has he even had a brace all season? Maybe one.

But yo answer your question, yes...I would rather.

    Thoughts on Bailly over Alonso?

Don't have a great TV, thus can only afford 2 premium defenders, 1 of them being Vertonghen.

Also, Bailly over Alonso gives much more stability to the team.

Alonso worth it. his goal/assist potential isso high.

Looks pretty solid. The defence is a minor worry (as a Saints fan, I'm not sure on Cedric) but without more transfer value there's not much you can do.

Only option you could really explore is Gross > Kenedy as I believe that would give you roughly 1.3m to play with.

GTG? Need to get my team sorted this morning as away for Easter...

Its a WC with BB34, FH35 in mind

    DDG / Ryan
    Alonso / Smalling / Vert / Lowton / Morgan
    Salah / Son / Mahrez / Willian / Gross
    Auba / Vardy / Barnes

2.3ITB to allow Auba > Lukaku or Kane in one FT for 34. Other is insurance for inevitable injury/rotation.

Have I missed any news? Anyone less than nailed? Cheers all

This team is 14/15 same as me, so I like it very much. Only difference is I have Valencia instead of Smalling just for security of starts but I only have 0.2 ITB. Good luck and have fun away for Easter.

        • 13 Years
        8 years, 14 days ago

Thanks man, I had Valencia and Mustafi before switching to Smalling and Vert as longer term thinking kicked in. If Smalling not likely to start both in 34 can use other FT on him too. Happy Easter!

  14. Over Midwicket
    • 14 Years
    8 years, 14 days ago

Morning. Thoughts on my WC team? No FH in 35 (using it in 37). Have TC left.

    DDG.
    Mustafi. Lowton. Mariappa
    Salah. Mahrez. Son. Willian.
    Lukaku. Aubameyang. Firmino.

Subs: Hennessey. Gudmundsson. Tarkowski. Dunk/Morgan. 0.0itb.

11 out for 34 with 1FT in case of injury then 2fts to get from 9 to 11 starters in 35. Any glaring issues?

    Thanks all.

Nice. Firm could be a real differential on WC but I would be worried about his minutes. Morgan over Dunk imo

Defence looks a bit budget, but it's a lovely attack. I imagine that should roughly even out - and I guess your points ceiling may be higher.
