The international break has given the Fantasy Football Scout community plenty of time to consider how to go about tackling the season run in.

Our community writers have considered when best to use a Wildcard to make the most of the final sets of fixtures, while chip strategy, as well as the optimum players to target, were among the issues covered in our Hot Topic discussions.

We find further insight into the merits of key double Gameweek candidates in our Members table round-up.

The Community Articles

The latest chip strategy to be covered by the community writers is that of deploying a Wildcard in Gameweek 33.

Kimaras’ article argues that the extra information available to those who use it then, rather than ahead of this weekend, could be invaluable.

Elsewhere, Hutch_James has been gathering the thoughts of ‘the crowd’ ahead of this weekend’s games, while Mr Klin of Norway dropped by to deliver his preview of the next set of games in Norwegian top-flight game Fantasy Eliteserien.

Don’t forget, if you’ve got some analysis, scout reports or features brewing, be sure to visit our community section to submit your article.

The Hottest Topics

With Double Gameweeks and a limited set of fixtures to contend with, careful planning is surely required if we are to emerge triumphant from the complicated season run-in.

Those who have already used their Free Hit chip face the added challenge of attempting to maximise returns in double and blank Gameweeks alike. Our Hot Topic for those without this chip offers some key advice on the best way to navigate the remaining fixtures.

Many of those with the Bench Boost chip intact are looking to deploy it in Gameweek 34’s extended set of matches. Stoichkov has been gazing into his crystal ball to attempt to predict the extra points this chip could net those using it then.

Among the most popular players for those Wildcarding this week is Brighton goalkeeper Mat Ryan. A key factor is that the Seagulls have two Double Gameweeks in which the Australian stopper has a strong chance of save points at least, according to JasonG123’s discussion.

Romelu Lukaku is another to offer convincing prospects according this week’s discussion on the United striker.

Meanwhile, Southampton and Newcastle players look to be solid enablers for the 11.4 -priced Belgian, according to our exchange on these two often overlooked teams.

We added further to the chatter revolving around the best run-in targets with a look at those who are not appearing in many Rate My Teams despite offering the prospect of strong returns.

One of the popular players being considered is Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who is ineligible for his side’s Europa campaign having moved from Borussia Dortmund in January. CloudSky points out that such a scenario will not happen next season due to changes announced by UEFA, which include allowing clubs to field mid-season signings in the knock-out stages of European competitions.

Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah’s sensational form, including delivering a 29-point return against Watford last time out, means he is set to be an integral part of FPL managers’ teams for the rest of the campaign.

He is already looking likely to be the main armband selection for Gameweek 32, according to our early canvassing of your captaincy plans.

Finally, Red Lightening chipped in only this evening by launching a survey of the top Differentials for Gameweek 32, with Junior Stanislas and Marko Arnautovic among those names circulated.

To view all our discussions please visit our Hot Topics page.

The Members Tables

I’ve created a raft of tables focusing on key double Gameweek assets from the ranks of Arsenal, Brighton, Burnley, Chelsea, Leicester, Southampton, Tottenham, Manchester City and Manchester United.

If you’re a member and are yet to get to grips with the custom statistics tables, you can view this movie for an explanation of how they work. Also, remember to tag them so that people can find the tables with ease.

The Community Tournaments

In TorresMagic’s Last Man Standing, the safety score was 85, which saw 60 players depart and 179 remain ahead of Gameweek 32.

If you are running a community tournament and would like the latest scores included in future Community Round-Ups, please email us a summary of the current leaders and a link to your league, spreadsheet or head-to-head competition, at jonty@fantasyfootballscout.co.uk.

I think I'm now leaning towards having Vardy (over Barnes) alongside Lukaku and Aubameyang instead of having Willian or Son in midfield. It also saves me having to do the striker hokey cokey I was planning over the next couple of weeks.

Yeah. Right now I have Son and Barnes. Think I'm right in saying this can be Vardy and Kenedy.

I was thinking exactly that... But Im struggling to look past the value that Barnes offer... And that he enables Hazard AND a straight stop back to Kane when I need it. (I've had a pretty bad season, 600k, so just doing template makes no sense)

    Aubameyang - Vardy - Barnes

    0.0 in the bank.

Don't know about all you boys and girls but I am simultaneously terrified and excited about how the cards fall tomorrow/rest of season.

Terrified due to the uncertainty over how my team will do tomorrow, the "template" options I'm avoiding and having perhaps played my WC prematurely.

Excited because I could finish the season with a Personal Best Overall Rank, my other 3 chips are still available, and I will have 11-13 new players in my squad tomorrow. It's like the start of a brand new season!

    Good luck everybody.

yeah it's a bit of an uninspriring thing to be deciding on as a final touch to a WC to save some pennies, King could be the best bet but like above, i should of mentioned i have no FH chip left, maybe just stick with Cork as lewis Cook has Liverpool and United in DGW.

Was thinking Mustafi + Auba > Def + Lukaku

      Not Bailly instead of Vert?

Burnley haven't kept a clean sheet in their last 6 home games.

4 of them were fairly tough to be fair but so will the fixtures be in the double!

That’s why I prefer Kiko to a double up. Or just pay the extra for Vert/Bailly

Could pay the extra for Bailly but it just means an extra transfer later down the line to get Lukaku/Kane.

Is Kiko nailed? Some seem to think Janmaat is a better RB and he may not keep playing midfield?

Don’t know about nailed but the next 2 look great and the spare cash leaves room to swap expensive attackers about with ease.

True but Tarkowski also saves mostly the same cash.

            Leicester (h), Chelsea (h) v Huddersfield (a)

Yes this week Kiko would be nice, but double Burnley v West Brom could be okay too. Most other weeks I'm sorted for defenders

Yeah you’re probably right. Would regret not having an extra doubler come 34. Just the lure of two genuine 15 pointers on offer first.

Man United have only kept 1 clean sheet in their last 6 games.

City, United, Spurs and Liverpool. Only conceded 4 goals in 4 of those 6 games. What else is on offer

Lots of the first team players were injured to be fair but I still think no CS for them tbh

Sorry guys because I know this has been posted a million times but I’m too useless to find it... what are the expected GW37 DGW matches? It will settle my final defender choice...

I'd go for the guy who gets further up the pitch, always on the last defender ready to fight for anything in and around the penalty area 😉
