The international break has given the Fantasy Football Scout community plenty of time to consider how to go about tackling the season run in.

Our community writers have considered when best to use a Wildcard to make the most of the final sets of fixtures, while chip strategy, as well as the optimum players to target, were among the issues covered in our Hot Topic discussions.

We find further insight into the merits of key double Gameweek candidates in our Members table round-up.

The Community Articles

The latest chip strategy to be covered by the community writers is that of deploying a Wildcard in Gameweek 33.

Kimaras’ article argues that the extra information available to those who use it then, rather than ahead of this weekend, could be invaluable.

Elsewhere, Hutch_James has been gathering the thoughts of ‘the crowd’ ahead of this weekend’s games, while Mr Klin of Norway dropped by to deliver his preview of the next set of games in Norwegian top-flight game Fantasy Eliteserien.

Don’t forget, if you’ve got some analysis, scout reports or features brewing, be sure to visit our community section to submit your article.

The Hottest Topics

With Double Gameweeks and a limited set of fixtures to contend with, careful planning is surely required if we are to emerge triumphant from the complicated season run-in.

Those who have already used their Free Hit chip face the added challenge of attempting to maximise returns in double and blank Gameweeks alike. Our Hot Topic for those without this chip offers some key advice on the best way to navigate the remaining fixtures.

Many of those with the Bench Boost chip intact are looking to deploy it in Gameweek 34’s extended set of matches. Stoichkov has been gazing into his crystal ball to attempt to predict the extra points this chip could net those using it then.

Among the most popular players for those Wildcarding this week is Brighton goalkeeper Mat Ryan. A key factor is that the Seagulls have two Double Gameweeks in which the Australian stopper has a strong chance of save points at least, according to JasonG123’s discussion.

Romelu Lukaku is another to offer convincing prospects according this week’s discussion on the United striker.

Meanwhile, Southampton and Newcastle players look to be solid enablers for the 11.4 -priced Belgian, according to our exchange on these two often overlooked teams.

We added further to the chatter revolving around the best run-in targets with a look at those who are not appearing in many Rate My Teams despite offering the prospect of strong returns.

One of the popular players being considered is Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who is ineligible for his side’s Europa campaign having moved from Borussia Dortmund in January. CloudSky points out that such a scenario will not happen next season due to changes announced by UEFA, which include allowing clubs to field mid-season signings in the knock-out stages of European competitions.

Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah’s sensational form, including delivering a 29-point return against Watford last time out, means he is set to be an integral part of FPL managers’ teams for the rest of the campaign.

He is already looking likely to be the main armband selection for Gameweek 32, according to our early canvassing of your captaincy plans.

Finally, Red Lightening chipped in only this evening by launching a survey of the top Differentials for Gameweek 32, with Junior Stanislas and Marko Arnautovic among those names circulated.

To view all our discussions please visit our Hot Topics page.

The Members Tables

I’ve created a raft of tables focusing on key double Gameweek assets from the ranks of Arsenal, Brighton, Burnley, Chelsea, Leicester, Southampton, Tottenham, Manchester City and Manchester United.

If you’re a member and are yet to get to grips with the custom statistics tables, you can view this movie for an explanation of how they work. Also, remember to tag them so that people can find the tables with ease.

The Community Tournaments

In TorresMagic’s Last Man Standing, the safety score was 85, which saw 60 players depart and 179 remain ahead of Gameweek 32.

If you are running a community tournament and would like the latest scores included in future Community Round-Ups, please email us a summary of the current leaders and a link to your league, spreadsheet or head-to-head competition, at jonty@fantasyfootballscout.co.uk.

Pretty sure he plays tomorrow. Won't be playing him vs City. Can reassess in GW34. Just decided in the end that an Arsenal defender isn't worth it as an interim solution.

    Elliot (likely become Lloris)

I like Willian. Think he’s essential as Hazard in the team right now

      Too expensive for his returns

More so, he defines an FPL troll

How's this WC? Unsure whether to do Firmino to Vardy and Davies to someone else?

    DeGea, Ryan
    Alonso, Davies, Robertson, Lowton, Morgan
    Salah, Mahrez, Son, Willian, Gross
    Firmino, Aubameyang, Barnes

    GTG, or any changes?

    DDG
    Alonso Bailly Lowton
    Salah Son Mahrez Willian Groß
    Auba Vardy

    Ryan Barnes Morgan Tarkowski

Money ITB to do Auba > Kaku in 34.

      Playing Lowton ahead of Tark?

Think I've landed on this as my WC-team:

    DDG (Ryan)
Mustafi - Lowton - Christensen (Morgan, Tarkowski)
Salah - Gross - Mahrez - Willian (Gudmundsson)
    Vardy - Auba - Lukaku

    0.4M ITB.

    Thoughts highly appreciated!

Mine very similar but with Alonso... and Stanislas over Willian. I prefer the look of yours tbh, feels very top heavy. Plotting a route to Kane has driven my WC, hopefully not too much.

Ah, I can't afford that. Would love Alonso, but just can't fit him in..

If Kane is fit and in form for 34 I will do something in the lines of Mustafi, Gudmundsson and Auba for Fernandez, King and Kane for a hit. But time will tell!

I really like the from 3.... Aubamayang to Kane in GW34?

    Start

    A) Dunk (Leicester H)
    B) Tarkowski (WBA A)

    Got Mahrez and Vardy.

    Thoughts?

    WC team-
    DDG Ryan
    Alonso Mustafi Lowton Morgan Stephens
    Salah Mahrez Hazard Gross Milivejovic
    Aubameyang Vardy Barnes

Could have Willian + Son instead of Hazard + Milivejovic but not convinced by either of them starting all the games and Son has tough fixtures

    Thoughts?

Hey guys, RMWC. Feedback appreciated. Should I do Smalling > Bailly?

    DDG - Ryan
    Smalling - Mustafi - Alonso - Lowton - Morgan
    Mahrez - Salah - Willian - GroB - Gudmund
    Lukaku - Auba - Barnes

Planning to save in 33 and do Gudmund/GroB & Auba > Son & Vardy in 34

If Bailly’s price doesn’t affect your plans then yes

I can get Bailly but it would mean GroB has to go in 34 rather than Gudmund. Maybe not a big deal as GroB's fixtures from 34 aren't as good as Gud's.

The plan is Auba & GroB > Vardy & Son. It'd mean going Kaneless but I can also get Kane and a cheapie mid instead of Son in 34

    DDG (Ryan)
    Alonso, Tarkowski, Maguire (Lowton, Christensen)
    Salah, Son, Willian, Mahrez, Mkhi
    Aubameyang, Vardy (Barnes)

Right team heading into the GW?
2 transfers planned to replace Aubameyang for Lukaku or Kane with Mkhi

    Different Chip Strategy
    (I have WC, TC, BB)

    Team For GW32:
    Lossl
    Alonso Dunk Chilwell
    Salah Mane Sterling Stanislas
    Firmino Lukaku Deeney

    Bench: Baines Walcott Zeegelar

    GW 33: Save FT

GW 34: TC Lukaku or Alonso. 2 FT for 2 Burnley players. 1 defender for Zeegelar, and 1 mid for walcott/sterling (7 DGW players)

    GW 35: 1 FT for 35 player. (9 GW35 players)

    GW 36: Wilcard

    GW: 37: BB

I think it's important to plan for kane for gw 34

how are you guys doing it with wc? I think you really need lukaku AND kane going into gw34

I have a plan to do son and auba to gross and kane if need be however it really hurts the midfield as I will then have lewis cook and gross which is risky

I’m just winging it as per usual.

I’ll find a way closer to the time 🙂

I’ll do Aubameyang and Son > Kane and Gross.

Leaves with me Kane and Lukaku.

Don't need both IMO. Just have a way to get either with minimal fuss. They're too expensive. Kane is explosive, Lukaku isn't. Just depends how many minutes Kane gets before then,

I’m going for Vardy, Kane, Kaku and a dodgy midfield aside from a Mahrez and Salah.

Am I good to go with this WC?

      De Gea. Ryan.
      Alonso. Vert. Maguire. Stephens. Lowton.
      Salah. Hazard. Mahrez. Willian. GroB.
      Auba. Murray. Austin

      Will use 2FT to do William & Auba ———> Matic/Kenedy & Kane for GW34
