The first of two Sunday fixtures gets underway at 2.15pm as Arsenal welcome Southampton to the Emirates Stadium.

After Harry Kane and Romelu Lukaku failed to pick up the points at Stoke yesterday, all eyes turn to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

The fourth top captain pick for the Gameweek with 7.9% backing, he was handed the armband by 56 of the top 100 Fantasy Premier League (FPL) managers.

As expected, however, Arsene Wenger has rotated heavily ahead of Thursday’s Europa League return to CSKA Moscow.

Snapped up by 70,000+ managers for Gameweek 33, Aaron Ramsey is rested for the third time in the last four league fixtures.

Laurent Koscielny also misses out altogether, while the likes of Mesut Ozil, Alexandre Lacazette and Nacho Monreal are named among the substitutes.

For the Saints, Charlie Austin drops to the bench as Mark Hughes hands Shane Long the lone striker role.

The visitors look to be lining up in a 3-4-2-1 formation, affording us a final chance to scout for options ahead of their Double Gameweek 34 against Chelsea and Leicester.

Lol. Kinda reminds me of the person who said United wouldn’t score against City if they played until May. The amount of crap that gets said on here...

Lol, no need to quote people to look smug on here. It's not like he scored a hat trick or anything, he scored with a big deflection that's all.

To be fair, United deserved every bit of criticism they got for that first half performance. Great second half from the players and the manager, for sure.

        Absolutely
But Chelsea still have a small chance for top 4 (spurs play city)
And because of that spurs themselves surely shouldn't be resting many players

        1. MTPockets

I don't think Lukaku's been rested this season (just out briefly with injury), but certainly not impossible.

Why do these defensive mids keep trying to shoot, only to blow it to row z, when they know there is 0,0001% chance they will score?

And why is Xhaka still taking freekicks?

Same situation as me, I'm going to take a -4 for 11 players in 35 and then if its a DGW 37 player, it'll cost you 1pt per game week (dependant on how you classify your hits)

On a slightly different note, who do you reckon scores more between now and the end of the season?

    Zaha or arnie?

Please don't. There are only two acceptable topics here today. Auba is a captain fail (pre-14:45) and Auba is going to score at least 76 (post-14:45). Any deviation is against board etiquette.

Oh, Zaha IMO. more to play for.

Punt on Iwobi could pay off nicely, Aubameyang captain, enjoying this match so far, always a bonus being at the game when captain scores.

Many empty seats at Emirates once again. Anyone know if this is, season ticket holders not attending or unsold match tickets?

Either way, the Arsenal hierarchy will be worried, they rely on matchday revenue. This is sufficient reason for the board to end Wenger's contract.

      Season ticket holders mostly.

Do they rely on matchday revenue?

of course they do, they build the emirates stadium with the view to maximising their revenue. Matchday revenue is their biggest money stream.

Not quite. They built the emirates stadium to maximise their revenue from matchdays, whilst converting Highbury into housing to create an alternative revenue stream so they arent reliant on any individual thing. Not to mention that season ticket holders provide revenue whether they attend or not.

you're just repeating my point. Do the maths, if Arsenal fans don't attend games, will it not dent their profits?

              only to the over-priced venders

It will do less than 0.01% of a dent in the profits. Which is far removed from "relying" on matchday profit.

              it's definitely tv rights
but arsenal are loaded as a corp.. no excuse for buying inferior players.. maybe not getting europe will make them open up their purse

Matchday revenue isn't the largestr income stream of any premier league club, as far as I was aware at least.

It's a bit of both. Know some who work in sales there; definitely is becoming a bigger problem than they'll admit publically (obviously).

If they win EL, they have CL back and what is seemingly a more cohesive team. Winger will probably be fine for another year.
