The vast array of budget options at Burnley last season has seen their players receive some price hikes, which may change our perception of their performances in 2018/19.

The underlying defensive numbers and some appealing early-season fixtures mean that Nick Pope and his centre-backs are still factoring in Fantasy plans at this stage.

Going forward there was surprisingly underwhelming attacking data considering that both Ashley Barnes and Chris Wood showed they could be a decent third striker in Fantasy teams.

Fantasy Football Scout members can now read on as we delve deep into the numbers from 2017/18 to weigh up the best players to look at now that the new game has launched.

World Cup Data

We’re delighted to offer World Cup data as an early addition to our regular season offering to help those playing Fantasy games over the summer.

We’ve secured Opta data, not only for the tournament itself, but also from the Qualifying Rounds for Europe and South America and for international friendlies involving the participating nations. This includes all the matches played right up to the tournament kick-off.

Just to stress, this World Cup offering comes packaged with the regular Fantasy Football Scout membership.

Check out this new trailer detailing the World Cup content below…

By twisting captains - Its your decision .
You think Salahs 1 goal + cleanie point can be bettered by lets say a Kane vs newcastle , Go for it .
More decisions , more strategy , less luck .
And the lucky guy who might catch a good captain score once a while won't be able to keep it up if he continues with the twisting approach .
But the unlucky ones can save their as*

So only captains vs other low scores?
The "unlucky" ones is where the issue is. A 90 minute Kane fail shouldn't be replaced etc.

Totally agree - more decision and strategy can only be a good thing, though I agree that the game needs to be simpler for the casual given how long it is.

World Cup semi final score predictions?

    a) France vs Belgium
    b) Croatia vs England

    1. Pierce34
      • 10 Years
      8 years, 1 month ago

France vs. Belgium, I really have no idea. I didn't know France could be tight defensively after the 4-3 with Argentina, and I didn't know Belgium could put together a performance like they did vs. Brazil. Let's say 2-1 France.

Croatia vs. England - I hope England gets knocked out, but head says narrow England win.

Greek. Nothing against the English team per se (in fact this is one of the most likeable English teams in a while for the neutral), but the smugness of some colleagues would be intolerable if England won 😛

There were just four teams that rested most of their starters in R3. Those four teams are the four semi finalists.

Yes, Russia rested a few also but they were also close to a semi final as well.

I've been burnt by Walcott before haha. Its Marco Silva who's tipped my hand. He's an excellent coach, and I needed to at least get one Everton player in. Siggy is a shout, but I'll be scouting Everton's preseason to see who gets the nod for my team.

What hasn't been "lucky" is the preparation they've put into set pieces - free kicks, corners, penalties. Between Southgate's research of Basketball and other American sports and his Scottish set-piece coach, England have worked out a way to minimise the lack of creativity.

I watched the russia v Croatia game for dealing with set pieces and i noted that Croatia are very vulnerable. Maguire and Stones going up for headers against Lovren? Goals.

They haven't faced a midfielder like Modric, so Hendo will need help there. i do foresee another England victory, although facing a full-strength Belgium or growing France will be a step too far.

Yeh, like Mkhi he tips the balance on value alone rather that inherent hotness.

Whichever Everton one starts, look to Bournemouth, Southampton and Wolves.

Daniels, Tomkins, Cedric, Dunk/Duffy, Yedlin, etc. Plenty, just pick the ones who have the best fixtures and some attacking potential.

One mistake I learnt from last year was being too impatient with players like Eriksen and KDB. They'll both most likely score 200+ points over a season so why not just stick them in and forget about them, even if they blank a few games in a row? The same is also somewhat applicable to defenders like Azpi.

    Thoughts?

Completely agree - so much of last season was spent switching between big-hitters, only to miss out immediately on a haul. Would have been much better off saving my transfers.

I immediately improved my rank when I stopped taking hits to chase bandwagons. Going to try and completely minimize my -4s this sesaon, and I'm simply putting in a few set and forget players so I am only fiddling around with a few spots over the season.

Not as simple as that. Couple of years ago when champions Chelsea started poorly we hung onto our assets, but they never got better! Last year I invested a lot in Alonso but he never really got going. Josh King was also a disappointment (not that he's 'A league'), as was Ozil.

Alonso never got going? Can't expect more from a 6.5m player than +/- 170 pts.

Didn't start too hot though. Key was bringing him at the right time, same as any other player.

Yeah, that was the point I think. Stick him in early. I never tend to get it right...missed many hauls last yr by waiting.

King and Özil are both poor picks. Not nailed and horribly out of form.

Azpi is consistently scoring 170+ a season, and Chelsea seem quids in to get 15+ cleans.

We can say King and Ozil are poor picks in retrospect. My point is this time last year they were deemed great picks on the back of the previous season.

But that's exactly my point! Eriksen and KDB are both almost GUARANTEED to get huge scores, as they've repeatedly done it in previous seasons, are in the prime of their careers and in proven and unchanged teams. Unless they break their leg or something, you can bank on their points.

I still say your strategy is too inflexible. As I said, Chelsea's champions flunked 2 years ago, Arsenal's faded away. You can start with certain pets nailed onto your team sheet but you still have to be ready to read troubling signs. I've got captain Mo nailed on to my teamsheet, but I acknowledge he could be a one-season wonder.

    Draft #0004

    Pope
    Davies Coleman Alexander-Arnold
    Salah Sanè Eriksen Walcott Milivojevic
    Firmino Zaha

    (Hamer, Tomkins, Schelotto, Quaner)

    How is this looking?

It's good. If TAA is rested for GW1 you've got Tomkins as cover. You're assuming Pope won't have time off.

If Kun, Kane or PEA get going, you're screwed.

Otherwise looks good. Not sure about a Palace triple up.

Ah, get it. I'm starting him along with Mkhi who are supposed to be a killer double-act. He's mainly intended as a place-holder for Lukaku. Even if you're overall strategy is correct, some of those A-list superstars are not going to start GW1 so you're going to make a very slow start to the season.
