We are left with the same four teams for the final round of World Cup Fantasy matches, with two more fixtures making up Gameround 7.

That includes the third/fourth place play-off that Belgium and England will play in on Saturday.

So, for one last time, we’ve collated all the relevant set-piece data so Fantasy Football Scout members can work out which nations are the best to focus on for their transfers.

It still looks like England are the most likely to score from set-piece situations despite their exit from the tournament, while Croatia remain susceptible to balls into the box.

READ NEXT: Our transfer tips and stats for the final round of World Cup Fantasy matches

Our research includes the penalty and corner-takers for each country, based on who has taken them either in Russia or, in some cases, in qualification. If there is no number next to a player’s name it’s because they took at least one in qualifying and/or warm-up games but are yet to take one at the World Cup itself.

We’ve also calculated which teams concede the most fouls and attempts from set-plays too to help you work out which nations are the most likely to get set-pieces in the first place.

To clarify, the ‘Attempts from set plays’ section combines those who have shot from direct free-kicks or those who have latched onto the end of a corner.

The deadline for Gameround 7 is at 15:00 BST on Sarturday July 14, so make sure you sort your team in time.

World Cup Data

We’re delighted to offer World Cup data as an early addition to our regular season offering to help those playing Fantasy games over the summer.

We’ve secured Opta data, not only for the tournament itself, but also from the Qualifying Rounds for Europe and South America and for international friendlies involving the participating nations. This includes all the matches played right up to the tournament kick-off.

Just to stress, this World Cup offering comes packaged with the regular Fantasy Football Scout membership.

I know it's highly subject to line ups, but which differentials are you looking at this round? Batshuayi or Januzaj could be great. Also hoping TAA plays as he tends to take corners/some free kicks when playing. Maybe Mandzukic could be a good option?

I don't think Batshuayi or Januzaj will start, 3rd place is much more serious than most think. Think Young could shift over to the right and Rose will start LWB.

Don't think there's much up front - hard to take out any of Kane, Lukaku and Griezmann/Mbappe, Hazard perhaps at a push.

Might be a differential or two in midfield - I'm personally going with Fellaini, always an aerial threat. Loftus-Cheek if he gets a go. Matuidi seemed to be getting into dangerous positions from the left wing too.

In defense Young could be one, takes free-kicks, corners and crosses - more so in Trippier's absence in all 3 regards. Meunier will be back. Vrsaljko looked very threatening from the right.

I would expect Belgiums golden generation to want at least one world cup medal. Don't understand why people expect the players to not care about a bronze-medal.

            You an Arsenal Fan?.

It's not the Olympics. Finishing 3rd in a Knock out tournament is meaningless in my opinion.

              God no!

When looking back at a career I think that medal will still mean something for the players. Third best country in the world at one point is not bad. The alternative is ending a tournament with two losses...might as well have been knocked out in the group stages then.

He's had to train as hard as first-teamers and hasn't had a rest. He may require a shorter break due to not plying much last season, but I'd still be wary of him starting GW1. Mind you, as that's away to Arsenal, I might have him and bench him for one week only.
Danilo won't be worth it for one week, especially as someone else like Zinchenko or Laporte could fill in there.

          That's how I'm thinking.

If he starts and does well he'll likely rise and be hard to get back in since a 0.1 rise is a killer early on. Better to have him and him not play till GW2 as long as your other options aren't all bench fodder.

Any reason that Son is not being mentioned at all? I'm thinking of starting with him, should play a prominent role to start with especially as Kane and Alli might be rested for one or two games, may even play up top if Poch doesn't fancy Llorente although he basically plays up front anyway! Has got over 170 points last two seasons.

Was quite happy to see the Brexit revolt but unfortunately the blue print still seems to suggest:

Keeping services - such as banking or legal support - outside of the common rule book, meaning the UK is completely free to set its own regulations. It accepts it will mean less trade in services between the UK and EU.

It's a clusterf*ck compromise, but as Trump so elegantly explained to The S*n today, the alternative is to be a client state of the Evil Empire. When the choice is Trump or the EU, it's really no choice at all.

Fabregas, Pedro and Morata to all start the season for Chelsea?

    1. Andy_Social

Too early to tell. Rumours are Sarri is looking to offload Fabregas and might get Higuain (whom Juve need to sell now they've bought Ronaldo). Pedro could be a placeholder for Hazard and Willian at best (Conte hated Willian), so none are safe.

    2. HamezMace

Pedro could start more than just the season opener with strong rumors of both Hazard and Willian leaving

Apparently Sarri made it a condition of joining that Hazard stays. Willian had a feud with Conte, so he should be back in the first team under anew manager. I reckon Pedro will still be back-up.

      Clear A for me.

Coleman more consistent than PVA, and there is a decent chance that Everton will be bringing in a new defender to compete with Jags/Holgate/Williams etc.

It is tricky to set out a team of assured starters in gameweek one. City and United are minefields at the moment. West ham similar. Clubes with new managers in the same boat so Arsenal Everton Chelsea all dodgy. Very few nailed starters. Might be best to return in three weeks time

Think it's better to completely abandon GW1, make your team in GW3 when everything's all certain.

People who panic or haven't prepared for getting WC players back in will likely lead to this. Prices could fluctuate all over the place as people drop and pick up.

    2. JamTart
      • 8 Years
      8 years, 16 days ago

The community shield might help a bit. Might not be the starters but if someone like Mendy gets a start or comes on you could see him starting GW since it's a technically a game against a big team and Pep will want a full strength side to hit the ground running.

Where you you chaps leaning towards when looking for the mid- ranged midfielders

    Walcott
    Delafelou, Richarlison or Hughes
    Jota
    Sessengon or Cairney
    Milli
    Stanislas, if fit
    Gray (now Mahrez has gone)
Redmond (looked good under Hughes at the end of last season)

Lots of options, finding it hard to pick one (or two) out of those. Which ones are you backing for a good season?

i'm sure a couple of these will end up being decent value, but cairney is the only one that i'm very confident will justify his price tag. 5 mil for a fairly creative player with pens and a share of set pieces in a highly motivated Fulham side that look like they're having a strong summer. Easy to cover his bad fixtures with a 4.5 defender as well (I've gone for Diop), which is a reasonable strategy when you're only paying 5 for him.

a 4.5 mid rotation is also an option, but I think rotating with a 4.5 defender makes more sense (4.5 defenders tend to get a lot more points than 4.5 mids)

I think Jota is worth a punt - if it doesn't work out, it is relatively easy to switch to whichever mid-ranged midfielder is performing.

Probably going with Cairney too. Although interested in seeing Hughes in pre-season. At 5.0, they should provide decent value.

Why the 3rd place match isn't as much of a joke as you'd think.

Saw a discussion above so decided to have a look into the past 3rd place matches and the lineups that turned out.

4 years ago, Netherlands, from their semi with Argentina to their 3rd place playoff with Brazil made just 2 changes (de Jong and Sneijder out, Clasie, de Guzman in). Robben and van Persie, both of whom you'd call old legs, played.

Brazil made 6 changes from their semi with Germany (one of them Thiago Silva returning from suspension), but that was a different circumstance altogether given they had just gone into national trauma from the 7-1, so I'd not consider that.

8 years ago, Germany made 5 changes from their semi to the third place lineup, but 3 of them were forced (virus and injury) - so effectively 2.

Uruguay made 4 changes, 3 of them key players returning from suspension/injury (Lugano injury, Suarez and Fucile suspension) - so effectively 1.

You'll see a few changes, but it won't be 10 and 9 changes like the Belgium-England group stage. I'd just expect the cramped players, Trippier, Henderson et al. to miss out. Last two playoffs ended 3-0 and 3-2, so expect goals.

Not to mention Belgium and England aren't sides that usually make this stage, so they'll want to make the most of it.

Here's an extra tidbit too - in 2006, Germany made 5 changes (including 1 injury), Portugal made 3 (including 1 fall-out with manager). Germany won 3-1.

      Definitely Tomkins.

Not a fan of Daniels (and Bournemouth defence) - would prefer a Wolves defender at that price. Doherty at 4.5 probably.

Not sure really - but I have heard that Watford are shopping for defenders (?) Think I would rather go with Kiko as he is less inclined to pick up yellows and may play OOP, but ultimately, I don't really rate the Watford defence.

I guess 4.5 defenders need to be nailed on. I couldn't say for sure who the first choice back line is at Watford.

To be fair, I haven't really looked at Watford much, but I've had a quick look and it seems that they have already brought in a new left-back (Masina) and right-back (Navarro), plus a young centre-back (Wilmot).

I'm just staying clear of Watford defenders - they were pretty poor last season anyway, and I think there is better value, more-nailed options out there.

Arsenal are one of the few teams with most of their squad in a full pre season, those fixtures look hard on paper but City and Chelsea will be disjointed due to having so many players late back from the World Cup.

my thoughts exactly. Then it's all gravy for 9 GW's or so. Plus Emery seems to be doing exactly the right things (e.g. buying a real defensive midfielder, strengthening defence with experienced pros etc)

Pep's comments about having to manage Silva's game time now he's getting on a bit (well, 32) has put me off somewhat, think he'll be rotated more this season. If I go with a City mid it will likely be KDB.

    3. Andy_Social

For GW1 definitely Sane. Definitely not Mahrez. Pep always introduces new players very gradually.

    4. Freddo

I think Mahrez will hit the ground running, City is the perfect team for him, Pep will take him up a level, the way they presented him to the fans yesterday implies that the club see him as a bit of a big deal and not a standard signing, they had fireworks....

He'll go on to have a Salah type year where people refuse to captain him for half a season because he's not expensive enough but he'll offer consistent returns, he's done it already with Leicester and now he'll be in a more powerful team with better players to finish chances & make him look good.

        Sterling is finished this year?

        1. Freddo

I don't think so, David Silva and Fernandinho are well into their 30s now, he's bought Mahrez & tried to buy Jorginho, looks to me like he's looking to replace those two positions in the team and bring younger plays in.

Mahrez is 27 now, he's not a young player whos new to the league, he's won a PL Title & had a very good CL run with Leicester, he's for the here and now.

Pep signed John Stones for 50m from Premier League Everton, made his debut straight away, no easing it.

Most managers ease new young players to the league in, Pep is not doing anything special, Stones knows the league, started instantly.
