Mohamed Salah will once again be the key Fantasy Premier League asset to own among Liverpool’s ranks this season.

The Egyptian may have had a huge price hike to £13.0m for 2018/19 but his underlying attacking numbers suggest he deserves to be valued higher than any of his colleagues.

However, there are plenty of cheaper options to consider for our FPL squads too as Jurgen Klopp’s men have a particularly appealing start to the new season.

Fantasy Football Scout members can view the important data in the Members’ Area and also read our full analysis of it below to help them pick the best possible FPL team this season.

So the community team has now developed into a 5-3-2:

    DDG
    Mendy | Robertson | PVA | Baines | Douglas
    Salah | Groß | Jota
    Auba | Aguero

    Hamer | Kamara | Romeu | Stephens

    Cheers

I personally love him, such a tidy player and on pens plus a BAPS magnet.
The only downside being he's in a low scoring team, but he is the focal point of it.

Different but I like it. That bench is very nasty though. Chalobah the pick of the 4.5s imo, but I wouldn’t want to carry 3 4.5 attackers

Yeah I'd feel better if I could find the 0.5 required to at least turn one of the 4.5 mids into a 5.0

How about Douglas to Doherty? Plays on the opposite wing to Douglas (same OOPness). Then Romeu to Cairney (Fulham, 5.0, apparently everything goes through him), Stephens to Chalobah 🙂

Cheers mate may consider it! Though the set piece prowess of Douglas is alluring 🙂

Great idea though, think I prefer Kenedy to Cairney (already punting on Jota as a promoted attacker).

Just checked Doherty - stats not bad! Similar amount of goals to Douglas last season with 4, quite a lot less assists but a better disciplinary record - reckon I might go for him!

How does this look? It's quite heavy in defence, but I don't really think you get much value from low price options at the back other than between the sticks. It also gives me a lot of flexibility in switching between 442 and 352. Also, if anyone can recommend a better 2nd keeper instead of Fabianski who will provide rotation options with Patricio it would be much appreciated (Begovic maybe)?

    Patricio
Robertson - Coleman (or Bailly) - PVA
    Salah - Mahrez - Sigurdsson - Jota - Deulofeu
    Aguero - Tosun

    Fabianski - Bellerin - Cedric - Kamara

I like this team maybe downgrade bellerin don't need that many hitters in defence. I think Valencia is the only nailed it's def so would not be contemplating any other utd defender

Haha indeed he is. I like your team. Cairney cover's Jota's couple of fixtures against top 6, nd is a reasonable back-up in general. Likewise, Daniels cover's Cedric in 6 and 8 if they both make it that far in your team.

Personally not a huges fan of Cairney, Daniels or Sanchez in terms of their value (what else is there? 😀 ), but if you like them, the team makes sense to me, except for the amount spend on GKs 🙂

Well Deulofail, you have done a splendid job replying yourself.

I really wanted a premium keeper this season and then with that price for Fabianski I thought why not, if I need 0.5 before the season starts he’s gone.

Also tempted to bin Arnautovic and go 3-5-2

Yeah those 7.0 strikers are very tempting, but will be the death of your team early on if they don't deliver as expected. Prefer Zaha, myself, assuming he plays in the front two for Palace again. 5 goals since he switched to that position (final 6 games of the season), and good fixtures. Otherwise, there's enough value in midfield to ditch him and upgrade someone else 🙂

Monitor Alonso, we don’t know if he’s favoured or not yet.

Just be wary of Spurs at the start. Most of their first time is going to have a World Cup hangover and likely missing GW1.

I doubt Masuaku will be a starter for us anymore.

You can easily achieve a well balanced team with 2 players in double figures (cost wise). Even with 3. I think you have too much tied up in 4 players. My opinion, but of course it’s your team

I don't see him being a risk early one. Likely to be him and Moura in the wide positions with Eriksen behind Llorente,

Definitely worth monitoring over pre season at the least. I've replaced Jota with him for now. Last season he gave good returns when fit 55 pts in 826 minutes. On a similar par to a Willian if you project it out at that rate. Will be a main man in that team until the WC stars are back too.

I don't think so. He is left footed winger who likes to cut inside and shoot from distance. He was on set pieces at Bordeaux. He likes to dribble and he is pretty fast. Not a type of playmaker, he should play wide. But on which side? Could be both but we saw his best in Ligue1 on the right side of the field.
That would mean for our FPL teams: bye bye Wally, welcome Goalman.

towards the end of last season Walcott played some minutes on the left, with him saying it was something they were looking at for this season. I know it’s a new manager but there’s a chance this is still an option

Do you think this team is solid?

    Ederson - 4.0
    Robertson - Coleman - Douglas - Cedric - Tomkins
    Sané - Mané - Willian - Milivojevic - Stephens
    Aubameyang - Firmino - Tosun

The ones I'm thinking about including: Ricardo Pereira and Bailly.

Some maverick picks there. I think if you plan to go without Salah, you need to be sure that the spare money is spent on players you're convinced are great value. If that is the case, then fair enough. But personally, I'm not convinced Sanchez (+ 2.5 spread elsewhere) is going to get you enough points to make up the difference.

Currently on this as a first go, never spent so much on defence in GW1:

    Fabianski - Stek
    Robertson - Mendy - Coleman - PVA - Cedric
    Salah - Mahrez - Ramsey - Willian - Masuaku/4.5
    Auba - Tosun - Kamara

Yeah, this Malcom thing has really come out of nowhere. Last I heard we were trying everything to convince Lookman to stay and was seemingly lined-up to start. Now ... it's weird. This rumour came out of nowhere.

Doubt it. Malcom will play right and cut inside. Siggy behind Tosun and I think bolasie will play on the left (just a feeling) Walcott can’t play anywhere other than the right wing.

You shouldn't worry to be honest 😀 If you want him then downgrade Wally then upgrade Mahrez to Sanchez, if he fails then you can always switch to KDB when he returns.

Auba might be ROOP, personally I prefer Aguero specially if you do what I wrote to have City attack. Also, keep an eye on Bailly.

Curious about what you wrote to have City attack? I'm personally going to treat having Mendy as having a mid who gets better cleansheet points. The fact he's joined the squad says he'll start the season and since teams sit back against them he'll spend more time closer to the opposition box than his own.
