We can reveal that Mark Sutherns has played his Wildcard for Gameweek 3 of the 2018/19 Fantasy Premier League season.

Joe spoke to him in the latest episode of ScoutCast Extra Time on Friday afternoon to find out his reasons for hitting the button and making a raft of changes.

You can watch that video below or on our YouTube channel.

Mark explained that a lot of his decision revolved around how volatile the transfer market has been since Sergio Aguero‘s (£11.2m) hat-trick in Gameweek 2.

With managers all over the world chopping and changing Mark was faced with a situation where several of his original assets were facing price falls, and those he wanted to replace them with were going in the opposite direction.

Joe made the case for sticking with Mark’s original Gameweek 2 team but it will definitely be an all-new line-up in Gameweek 3.

In our latest edition of ScoutCast Extra Time, Mark takes us through two different teams he is considering before Saturday’s 11:30am deadline – one with Eden Hazard (£10.5m) and one without.

What team in EPL has so far disappointed you the most and other way around.

    A- Wolves

    B- CP

    1. Marvin.

A- Wolves (seemed to have done everything right and then...)
B- Bournemouth (seemed to have not done much and are doing well without their best pre-season player firing yet)

Do you think those two games haven't been enough to tell to judge yet?

    (a) Robertson/Kante/Ings/Wilson
    (b) TAA/Kante/Ings/Zaha

I know Kante's a bit marmite but I do think he'll do better this year and wanted to give him that chance until Chelsea settle into a solid 11. Also, it's a wildcard team and since I've had to do it before the CL games, I wanted to spread my chances of getting out a full team without taking any hits when the the first of those weeks come around.

Leaning towards (b) tbh as Zaha has great fixtures and can easily rotate TAA through the tougher Pool games and possible CL rotation. If I'm doing that, it maybe makes it a bit pointless to spend the extra mil on Robertson right now.

    What do we think?

There was a lad from Hull who started walking home from Chile, through South and Central America, Mexico, US, before waiting in Canada for the ice to freeze in the Bering Strait so he could walk to Russia. He left in 1998, still walking somewhere. Karl Bushby.

Not a road trip as such, but a bloody long adventure all the same. I guess growing up in Hull will do that to you.

    Ederson

    From BBC sport;

“As ridiculous as it might seem, there appears to be something about Newcastle on their own patch on a Sunday.

The Magpies have played on that day at home three times in 2018, all of them extremely difficult fixtures: Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea.

And guess what? Rafael Benitez's side won them all.

Weirder still, Chelsea have played three away games on a Sunday in 2018 - and they lost them all, to Manchester United, Manchester City and Newcastle.”

I am the only one who thinks owning Rob/Mendy/Alonso is a little crazy?

First CS and Assists are not guaranteed every game all the way, so y’all not considering all the quality mids and fwds you missing out on?

You can argue the same point about forward and mids. Goals and assists not guaranteed either and right now some premium defenders are delivering big hauls

im debating Alonso or Mane in. Mane keeps funds in midfield for Hazard in the next few weeks if he looks sharp.

Kind of. Ties up too much in defence imo. I havent band wagonned Alonso because of it.

1 or 2 moves to any player where as with that def budget you'd be struggling to move on a prem player in forward or mid without a hit or two.

Poss worth it short term if you have a WC to switch it back when Kane bangs though.

The thing is people are using their WC to bring all 3 in!! ??

Let them. Then in 3 weeks time theyll be putting out fires and taking hits when all players are back and squads settle down.

          People are just impatient.

You could argue that it makes more sense to spend between 6 and 7 million on a quality defender than spending the same money on an average midfielder or forward

I get that argument but all 3 or 4 in some cases leaves you with 2 cheapo mids and one uber budget forward you cant upgrade without a hit.

          Its not for me.

Agree, but also owning 2/3 or even 1/3 will give you the chance of owning a prem fwd alongside Aguero and a pretty decent midfield.. which imo is better

I’d love to own all three. With mid price strikers doing well atm, makes sense to invest a lot in the back
