We can reveal that Mark Sutherns has played his Wildcard for Gameweek 3 of the 2018/19 Fantasy Premier League season.

Joe spoke to him in the latest episode of ScoutCast Extra Time on Friday afternoon to find out his reasons for hitting the button and making a raft of changes.

You can watch that video below or on our YouTube channel.

Mark explained that a lot of his decision revolved around how volatile the transfer market has been since Sergio Aguero‘s (£11.2m) hat-trick in Gameweek 2.

With managers all over the world chopping and changing Mark was faced with a situation where several of his original assets were facing price falls, and those he wanted to replace them with were going in the opposite direction.

Joe made the case for sticking with Mark’s original Gameweek 2 team but it will definitely be an all-new line-up in Gameweek 3.

In our latest edition of ScoutCast Extra Time, Mark takes us through two different teams he is considering before Saturday’s 11:30am deadline – one with Eden Hazard (£10.5m) and one without.

Sometimes I think people overreact with taking hits. For instance I did earlier this week King+Davies -> Ings+Alonso
    - Already a 0,4m swing
    - Your team is 2 transfers closer yo your "ideal" team and you can concentrate on other players next gmw
    - They are predicted to get more points in total
    - You protect your SV just incase something should happend and you want to transfer them out straight away

It all depends on which players you are transferring out and how long you are keeping the players you got.
Have to make sure the ones leaving are less likely to get points and there is a bit of long-term planning.

obviously a risk with early transfers the point is some players totally avoid hits at any cost while sometimes it can definetly make a lot of sense

yea i don't mind the hits myself. just don't do it every week

i'd be more open than most for hits if it makes you feel better and get the team you want

All well and good on paper. The key is to know when to not take a hit. Next thing we know, in 2 weeks time, you're doing Jota + Ings -> Fraser + Zaha or a move that brings back Davies. Who's wasted transfers and points then?

Is it just me who thinks people playing WCs are panicking way too early??? Like surely you'd save it for later?

There is no perfect time.Early/ late /never.

It is recognised in the community that Champions of past and present have adopted early and some late W/C's.

              It is a non issue.

Sorry TSparks I sounded curt there.
The truth is, there is perfect time to play it imo. Early/ Late /Never...Like the other chips, some peeps played the bench boost g/w1 and killed it. Others will say it's a nonsense to use chips early. It's not panicking though it's preference and tactics.

The Naysayers often turn out to be the Slain. Wallowing in their own putrid death of self opinionated blaspheme.

Hazard safe option - known quantity short burst of good fixtures

Aubameyang - unknown if he will play left or centre -Emery finding his feet - really long run of nice fixtures.

My tactic get hazard now then consider aubameyang later

    Wildcard or -8?

    Had 2FTs but still went...

I'm similar this week. 2 ft on a -8 but it seems insane to wc with 2 ft

Just take the hit, suck it up for a week and move on next week

      Sometimes they come off

Ok before changing the temp WC team to the actual one I just want some feedback on this

    A. Looks much better I think.
Only definite advantage of B is Pedro in a 352 over A with a 343 and A also had a 4.5 bench defender in Cook.
A is the no brainer or risks associated with I have etc ...?

    A. Ederson Cook TAA Stephens Ings
    B. Hennessey Bennett Monreal Pedro Kamara.

It seems obvious but this is it for WC, I want to get it right. Ended up with the most balanced draft in the end which I am hoping is a good thing. Thanks for reply.

            Ederson Hamer

            Alonso Mendy TAA Cook Wan-B

            Salah Mkhi Rich Fraser Stephens

            Auba Kun Ings

            Mainly 343

Probably A. Maybe not having Ederson might be a good thing assuming he would be a 3 City player as gives you more flexibility to get a City mid if one looks "relatively" rotation proof down the line.

Ok WC done and dusted I hope.
GTG here? I am really tempted by a punty Auba C but the amount of Salah C could really hurt so will probably go the sensible route

    Ederson

    Alonso Mendy TAA

    Salah (C) Mkhi Rich Fraser

    Auba (VC) Kun Ings

    Hamer S.Cook Stephens Wan-B

Great team .. Auba hasn’t looked that good tbh .. Salah or Kun are good captain choices

Was all set on getting rid of him next week but now I'm holding on to him for the next few regardless of Brighton. Leicester, Spurs, Southampton, Chelsea, City don't park and in most of those games I think they'll need him to lead/finish off a counter and I doubt they'll have the luxury to sub him off early too.

9 I think man. Good side

Personally prefer robbo as an FPL asset to VVD, although VVD still a good pick.
Not convinced on mhki as of yet, prefer Auba but I know he’s harder to get in
I think I’d prefer zaha over mitro if you can

      2. bench boost for every gamew…
        • 9 Years

You may be right about that, but i think those who chose VVD did that because he is a set and forget, Robertson will not be rotated much but he will be because Moreno won´t do much harm when VVD plays alongside him. If VVD rests that Liverpool defence will be all over the place looking for him-). More exciting to own Robertson i have to admit, but as a VVD owner i can relax all through the season. And VVD is a huge threath on set pieces and a goal is 6 points vs Robertson who is more likely to get assists.

Yeah it’s a close call between the two but I went for VVD for those reasons, won’t be much in i5 by the end of the season I don’t think.

The truth is though, I know I'm not going to win any Fantasy Football games but i'm in them all and will die trying. I don't even love football (Saints taught me that) I think all sport is a distraction for me and my fellow Plebmasses.

I have a pitchfork and I keep it sharp. Remember the Roman Colosseums and their purpose. We need to keep our eye on the Political Football.

Question: Kane or Sterling (c) This week? tx
