The Fantasy Football Scout Community have been dealing with the fallout from Gameweek 2 this week, with everything covered from high-performing full-backs to the early emergence of template teams.

As well as the usual array of superb discussions in the comments this week, there have been some welcome article and table submissions that can help with our planning for Gameweek 3 and beyond.

Our latest Community Round-up feature has it all covered.

The Hottest Topics

The early-season exploits of Marcos Alonso, Andrew Robertson and Benjamin Mendy prompted Ginkapo and then Goldman to ponder why left-backs are doing so well, while the Community were also discussing just how many heavy hitters we should be lumping on in defence.

With some tricky-looking fixtures for Liverpool on the horizon, Lukakwho did some digging in order to ask whether Mohamed Salah is likely to struggle against other “big six” clubs. Rupert The Horse went on to assess Liverpool’s form against their five rivals on the whole.

A wretched run of matches for the likes of Cardiff City and Newcastle United also motivated ZoumasBloomers to ask our thoughts on the “unpickables”.

The price change trends were a source of discussion in midweek, as was the debate over managing our heavy hitters.

Thoughts turned to this weekend’s matches with a speculative discussion on who the break-out star of Gameweek 3 could be, while G-Whizz was on hand to offer us his weekly fixture odds, clean sheet probabilities and “Doosra stats”.

Debate over the template team reared its head, with both vartshk and Crossfire Harry Kane offering their thoughts on this Fantasy hot potato. Goldman, indeed, encouraged us to listen to our own gut instinct.

Away from Gameweek 3, Scratch floated the excellent suggestion of having private FPL cups.

COMMUNITY TABLES

Once again, there were some fantastic tables to help our transfer plans created by FFS users.

COMMUNITY ARTICLES

We have had another week where some brilliant articles were submitted to us. Rossi3245 introduced us to Bundesliga Fantasy Football, Hutch_James returned with another Wisdom of the Crowd piece and Greyhead continued his look at well-known figures within the FFS Community.

COMMUNITY TOURNAMENTS

RedLightning continued his impressive start to the season gaining entry to the 100-club for a second week in a row to keep his lead at the summit of FFS Mods and Cons. The top three was unchanged while Andy Goddard and Chris James knocked Skonto Rigga and Joe out of the top five.

  • 1. RedLightning – 214 points
  • 2. TorresMagic – 188 points
  • 3. Chris James – 188 points
  • 4. Andy Goddard – 180 points
  • 5. Ragabolly – 177 points

Abdelrahman Saleh is the new leader of our public FantasyFootballScout league. He played his Bench Boost in Gameweek 1 and Triple Captained Aguero in Gameweek 2. The Egyptian now sits 12th in the world.

  • 1. Abdelrahman Saleh – 228 points
  • 2. Warren Lim – 224 points
  • 3= Jon Greenwood – 220 points
  • 3= Cosmin Rotaru – 220 points
  • 5. Lazaros Kalaitzidis – 219 points

Nick Howard still leads the FFS Members League. Having played his Bench Boost chip in Gameweek 1, he followed that up with a Wildcard in Gameweek 2 and is now ranked eighth in the world too. Our very own moderator RedLightning is also up to fourth.

  • 1. Nick Howard – 229 points
  • 2. Graeme Bye – 218 points
  • 3. Luke Aiello – 215 points
  • 4= RedLightning – 214 points
  • 4= Andrew McKinnon – 214 points

Meanwhile, Luke Aiello is the new leader of RedLightning‘s Top 10k Any Season mini-league, one point ahead of the league’s creator. Luke has had two previous top 10k finishes, the best being 2759th in 2016-17. It currently contains 1157 teams, and every single one of them has had at least one top 10,000 season finish, that’s how managers can qualify for it.

My big moves on Wildcard (so here's to hoping that some good decisions have been made):
    1. Remaining Salahless
    2. No LIV defence
    3. Auba + Aguero up top
    4. Hazard + Alonso

Love picks 3 and 4, playing the fixtures nicely and you’ll be ahead of the Hazard explosion.
Pick 2 would concern me, 1 obviously allows for 3 and 4, so I’d be pretty confident if I were you - good luck!

    Got stuck on last page
    Advice would be much appreciated

    Pereira Bennett Pedro
    Or
    Robertson Cook Kante

I have the other two big LBs and WB. Pedro would be a nice upgrade on Kante but comes at a sacrifice in defence :/

He has been very reliable in the past, I'm convinced his Aguero is dropped tweet (Which he deleted) was poking fun at the story.

Not an easy one but Considering the fixtures I think that Chelsea will have a harder tume at Newcastle than City with the wolves. However if we look at form i’d go for Pedro.
I personaly couldnt take the fact that city scored 6 and Bilva was not even involved once. So i transferred him out for pedro.
So in the end Pedro for me

Here is my WC team for this week after having to sort Sanchez, Jota, Firmino, no Mendy/Alonso. Comments welcome. Still considering Hazard vs. Mane but probably too soon. Chilwell has looked tidy so I'm happy to rotate him with Hughes and Kante at the expense of getting Mkhi (Arsenal have looked tragic and the first 11 isn't overly clear so I'm happy to wait here).

        Hennessey

        Robbo Mendy Alonso Chilwell

        Rich Mane Salah (C)

        Zaha Aguero Wilson

Firmino and Fraser. Especially Firmino as I respect him a lot as footballer, being a purist. He has screwed me royally over Mane though till now

Each of the other 14 in my squad to make up for them taking the first two weeks of the season off. I want points from all and a Stephens 4.5 4.0 bench full of points.

          Pickford
          Shaw Mendy Robertson (Bissaka/Daniels)
          Richarlison Salah(C) BSilva Mkhitaryan (Stephens)
          Aguero Fir Kamara

          0FT and 2m ITB

I will have a bad week if Shaw Aguero BSilva Kamara didnt play, with Bissaka already out.
I was keeping the 2m for Fir > Auba nxt week. But with Shaw doubtful, should I do Shaw > Alonso for -4 or stick with my team and keep the 2m ITB?

Am I nuts to be considering Salah triple captain? I know it’s early days but it’s a plum fixture and most wont be triple captaining him, could be a good advantage to be had.

Last season in my ML I was chasing a lead for most the season and it became very difficult to claw back. Makes me feel that early season momentum is so important, potentially making a case for early chips rather than waiting until the doubles

I think shaw has probably been the best of the back 5 so far and injury aside he should hold on to his place for this week.

            Salah (C) for me

I'm not sure, felt Guaita was bought in to be no1. The 1.0 saving over Ederson could be well worth it but might leave it off.

Yeah he should keep his first team place. But last season Henners did have some bad mistakes he made, might only take 1 and he could lose his place. Guaita was one of the best goalies stat wise is Spain last season, so he is breathing down his neck for a chance.
