The Fantasy Football Scout Community have been dealing with the fallout from Gameweek 2 this week, with everything covered from high-performing full-backs to the early emergence of template teams.

As well as the usual array of superb discussions in the comments this week, there have been some welcome article and table submissions that can help with our planning for Gameweek 3 and beyond.

Our latest Community Round-up feature has it all covered.

The Hottest Topics

The early-season exploits of Marcos Alonso, Andrew Robertson and Benjamin Mendy prompted Ginkapo and then Goldman to ponder why left-backs are doing so well, while the Community were also discussing just how many heavy hitters we should be lumping on in defence.

With some tricky-looking fixtures for Liverpool on the horizon, Lukakwho did some digging in order to ask whether Mohamed Salah is likely to struggle against other “big six” clubs. Rupert The Horse went on to assess Liverpool’s form against their five rivals on the whole.

A wretched run of matches for the likes of Cardiff City and Newcastle United also motivated ZoumasBloomers to ask our thoughts on the “unpickables”.

The price change trends were a source of discussion in midweek, as was the debate over managing our heavy hitters.

Thoughts turned to this weekend’s matches with a speculative discussion on who the break-out star of Gameweek 3 could be, while G-Whizz was on hand to offer us his weekly fixture odds, clean sheet probabilities and “Doosra stats”.

Debate over the template team reared its head, with both vartshk and Crossfire Harry Kane offering their thoughts on this Fantasy hot potato. Goldman, indeed, encouraged us to listen to our own gut instinct.

Away from Gameweek 3, Scratch floated the excellent suggestion of having private FPL cups.

COMMUNITY TABLES

Once again, there were some fantastic tables to help our transfer plans created by FFS users.

COMMUNITY ARTICLES

We have had another week where some brilliant articles were submitted to us. Rossi3245 introduced us to Bundesliga Fantasy Football, Hutch_James returned with another Wisdom of the Crowd piece and Greyhead continued his look at well-known figures within the FFS Community.

COMMUNITY TOURNAMENTS

RedLightning continued his impressive start to the season gaining entry to the 100-club for a second week in a row to keep his lead at the summit of FFS Mods and Cons. The top three was unchanged while Andy Goddard and Chris James knocked Skonto Rigga and Joe out of the top five.

  • 1. RedLightning – 214 points
  • 2. TorresMagic – 188 points
  • 3. Chris James – 188 points
  • 4. Andy Goddard – 180 points
  • 5. Ragabolly – 177 points

Abdelrahman Saleh is the new leader of our public FantasyFootballScout league. He played his Bench Boost in Gameweek 1 and Triple Captained Aguero in Gameweek 2. The Egyptian now sits 12th in the world.

  • 1. Abdelrahman Saleh – 228 points
  • 2. Warren Lim – 224 points
  • 3= Jon Greenwood – 220 points
  • 3= Cosmin Rotaru – 220 points
  • 5. Lazaros Kalaitzidis – 219 points

Nick Howard still leads the FFS Members League. Having played his Bench Boost chip in Gameweek 1, he followed that up with a Wildcard in Gameweek 2 and is now ranked eighth in the world too. Our very own moderator RedLightning is also up to fourth.

  • 1. Nick Howard – 229 points
  • 2. Graeme Bye – 218 points
  • 3. Luke Aiello – 215 points
  • 4= RedLightning – 214 points
  • 4= Andrew McKinnon – 214 points

Meanwhile, Luke Aiello is the new leader of RedLightning‘s Top 10k Any Season mini-league, one point ahead of the league’s creator. Luke has had two previous top 10k finishes, the best being 2759th in 2016-17. It currently contains 1157 teams, and every single one of them has had at least one top 10,000 season finish, that’s how managers can qualify for it.

WC? Prefer Alli to Eriksen. He’s lost some of his appeal now that he doesn’t take all the set pieces. Rather have Alli for his goal threat.

So the armband lottery is in full swing in my team:

    A. Mane (for the fear of LIV going huge)
    B. Aguero (off the back of a hattie, looks good for a goal)
    C. Auba (If WHU haven't shored up a little, he could have a field day)
    D. Hazard (cracking World Cup and now in his prime, came on and destroyed Arsenal, should play 60mins, outside punt)

Think this one will go down to the wire!

Its not about hindsight, saying that Ozil(c) was destined to end in tears now that he is out is plain stupid.

Strong enough to keep my FT? Planning on using 2 FT to get Hazard next week.

    Hamer
    Robertson - Mendy - VVD - Bailly
    Salah (C) - Mkhitaryan - Richarlison - Cairney
    Aguero - Arnie

    Patricio - Jota - Quaner - Wan-Bisaka

Bailly is next in the firing line after Jota, but United Spurs seems like the kind of game we always win 1-0 thanks to a flukey goal or a mistake from them. We shall see.

    I'm going with the following:

    Begovic
    Mendy, Alonso, TAA, Pereira
    Salah, B Silva, Richarlison
    Mitrovic, Firmino, Aguero

Firmino feels a little bit of a liability but I'm hoping today might kick-start him as it should be a very good match for Liverpool. If B Silva starts being rotated then I'll probably swap him out for Mkhitaryan or perhaps Pedro.

Anyone have any thoughts about further tweaks you'd consider making if you had the same line-up?

Zaha would be definite from those two. Maybe King but not for more than one more match if he doesn't do something this weekend.

I understand most price rises but how come Pogba went up?

Lost to Brighton, played poorly, said did not feel fully up for game, team in bit of disarray including his relationship with Mourinho and his future at club and playing Spurs who have won first 2 games

How do you see the Wolves City game going today?

I think it's going to be all about Wolves wing backs against Citys wing backs. Wolves are always looking to push wing backs really high up and wide, so may see Walker and Mendy tracking back a lot. However if City catch them out of position Walker and Mendy will as a result have plenty of space to bomb forward and therefore we could see another haul for Mendy or Walker.

I think Wolves will be impressive and surprise people, but Citys quality will prevail. 2-1 City.

Stronger teams than Wolves have been soundly beaten by City. I see this game going only one way.

    WC active and £1.2m ITB

    Ederson
    Mendy Shaw Robertson Alonso
    Mkhi Mane Richarlison
    Auba Aguero Zaha

    Hamer Neves Stephens AWB!

Thoughts on what to with Shaw?

I dropped him this week for Alonso, and did it before news of his foot injury came out. Although Shaw has had a good start, he's vulnerable to rotation or just being dropped by Mourinho and for me, because I had spare budget, it was a no-brainer decision. Maybe you should keep him for this week and see what happens.

I would downgrade to s 4.5. Tomkins? And then you have the money to upgrade Neves to a 6.5!

Shaw to TAA or Pereira and then Stephens/Neves to Fraser?

Zaha and Arnie will not be an attractive enities as when they were MIDs.
Also points wise they gonna get around 10 goals which is great for mids not for forwards.

So last season when playing as a striker Arnautovic scored 11 and assisted 6 in 22 games. This season he is now on pens as well. Can easily see him grabbing 15 goals this season
