The Fantasy Football Scout Community have been dealing with the fallout from Gameweek 2 this week, with everything covered from high-performing full-backs to the early emergence of template teams.

As well as the usual array of superb discussions in the comments this week, there have been some welcome article and table submissions that can help with our planning for Gameweek 3 and beyond.

Our latest Community Round-up feature has it all covered.

The Hottest Topics

The early-season exploits of Marcos Alonso, Andrew Robertson and Benjamin Mendy prompted Ginkapo and then Goldman to ponder why left-backs are doing so well, while the Community were also discussing just how many heavy hitters we should be lumping on in defence.

With some tricky-looking fixtures for Liverpool on the horizon, Lukakwho did some digging in order to ask whether Mohamed Salah is likely to struggle against other “big six” clubs. Rupert The Horse went on to assess Liverpool’s form against their five rivals on the whole.

A wretched run of matches for the likes of Cardiff City and Newcastle United also motivated ZoumasBloomers to ask our thoughts on the “unpickables”.

The price change trends were a source of discussion in midweek, as was the debate over managing our heavy hitters.

Thoughts turned to this weekend’s matches with a speculative discussion on who the break-out star of Gameweek 3 could be, while G-Whizz was on hand to offer us his weekly fixture odds, clean sheet probabilities and “Doosra stats”.

Debate over the template team reared its head, with both vartshk and Crossfire Harry Kane offering their thoughts on this Fantasy hot potato. Goldman, indeed, encouraged us to listen to our own gut instinct.

Away from Gameweek 3, Scratch floated the excellent suggestion of having private FPL cups.

COMMUNITY TABLES

Once again, there were some fantastic tables to help our transfer plans created by FFS users.

COMMUNITY ARTICLES

We have had another week where some brilliant articles were submitted to us. Rossi3245 introduced us to Bundesliga Fantasy Football, Hutch_James returned with another Wisdom of the Crowd piece and Greyhead continued his look at well-known figures within the FFS Community.

COMMUNITY TOURNAMENTS

RedLightning continued his impressive start to the season gaining entry to the 100-club for a second week in a row to keep his lead at the summit of FFS Mods and Cons. The top three was unchanged while Andy Goddard and Chris James knocked Skonto Rigga and Joe out of the top five.

  • 1. RedLightning – 214 points
  • 2. TorresMagic – 188 points
  • 3. Chris James – 188 points
  • 4. Andy Goddard – 180 points
  • 5. Ragabolly – 177 points

Abdelrahman Saleh is the new leader of our public FantasyFootballScout league. He played his Bench Boost in Gameweek 1 and Triple Captained Aguero in Gameweek 2. The Egyptian now sits 12th in the world.

  • 1. Abdelrahman Saleh – 228 points
  • 2. Warren Lim – 224 points
  • 3= Jon Greenwood – 220 points
  • 3= Cosmin Rotaru – 220 points
  • 5. Lazaros Kalaitzidis – 219 points

Nick Howard still leads the FFS Members League. Having played his Bench Boost chip in Gameweek 1, he followed that up with a Wildcard in Gameweek 2 and is now ranked eighth in the world too. Our very own moderator RedLightning is also up to fourth.

  • 1. Nick Howard – 229 points
  • 2. Graeme Bye – 218 points
  • 3. Luke Aiello – 215 points
  • 4= RedLightning – 214 points
  • 4= Andrew McKinnon – 214 points

Meanwhile, Luke Aiello is the new leader of RedLightning‘s Top 10k Any Season mini-league, one point ahead of the league’s creator. Luke has had two previous top 10k finishes, the best being 2759th in 2016-17. It currently contains 1157 teams, and every single one of them has had at least one top 10,000 season finish, that’s how managers can qualify for it.

Should I do B.Silva to Mkhitaryan for -4? Worth it or too sideways a move?

I’m looking at the same thing but want to keep. A bit worried BSilva will get rotated and might not be as good value as I initially thought. Holding for now.

Is there any stats to back that 12:30 kickoffs are usually low-scoring or am I just looking for a reason not to captain Aggueroooo!?

If they're saying on here it must be true haha!
Aguero is a great captaincy pick. City very likely to put a few past Wolves!
I prefer to put the armband on a player with a home fix myself though.

Need some advice here lads. Should I go Aguero/Bernardo Silva -> Aubameyang/Mkhitaryan this round (with two ft)? Arsenal's run of fixtures is so promising and I'm sure Aguero will be rested soon. Always ready to go back to him, though,

Bsilva to Mkhi is fine. Don’t drop Aguero tho.

Can’t you downgrade Bilva then upgrade a striker to have Kun and Auba up front ?

Maybe the wrong time to post this. But my 4.5 mid on WC is tricky.

Stephens 4.5. Close to a drop on fplstats puts me off.

Guendozi 4.5. Uses my final arsenal spot. Could be dropped in future ? Closer to a rise.

    Need a George Boyd.

I would go Schneiderlin mate - I know he's out this week but sounds as if its just a one week spell on the sidelines.

Know bringing in an injured player has risks but Silva loves him and got an assist last week!

What were you reasons for avoiding Robbo? Just couldn't find the extra $1m or don't think he's value vs TAA?

Currently weighing up Alonso vs Robbo myself.

      1. Richd
        • 14 Years
        8 years, 2 days ago

I love the Schneiderlin option actually !

Well for me getting TAA over Robbo allowed PVA over Tomkins. TAA v Robertson stats for last season are pretty similar and I feel TAA more chance of goals and actually bonus isn’t that far apart

Hi everyone. I'm in need of suggestions for a 4.5 mid to have as my fifth defender. Currently have Schneiderlin.

I have 0 in the bank and my team is:

    Ederson Hamer
    Mendy Robertson Alonso Wan-Bissaka Bennett
    Salah Mane Richarlison Mkhitaryan Schneiderlin
    Aguero Ings Tosun

Would really appreciate suggestions on this and also if you have other suggestions of course!

      Very very good team.

Your 4.5 isn't realistically ever going to play so it's worth saving the transfer and keeping Schneiderlin.

Thanks for replying... You are probably right, I have been pondering on taking Tosun and Schneiderlin out to bring in for example Wilson and Kante... But I'm feeling I want to give Tosun another go... Also very interested in Richarlison > Pedro... But feel that I can't do that switch after Richarlisons fantastic start...

    2. Schafsalat

Billing maybe? Otherwise, I would personally rather have Zaha than Tosun atm, even though I have Tosun (and other priorities than changing him to Zaha).

      1. leho
        • 9 Years
        8 years, 2 days ago

Billing might be the one... And Zaha is also someone I'm looking at however I feel that if I switch out Tosun now he'll probably score a brace ^^... In the long run Richarlison should be enough to cover Everton attack though...

It is all about the fear of rotation tbf.

Salah home to Brighton seems better than Agüero away to Wolves tbh.
It is also criminal, that Salah is placed as a midfielder (CS point, 1 more point when he scores etc.)

Cedric to TAA worth a -4?

Honestly, no. If he only gets 6 points, you effectively score 2.

Not if it is a long term move and if his team needs it. He isn't buying the player for a single GW.

Then he can wait for next gw FT and not squirt 4 points against the wall

Try reading my comment properly before responding. I did mention "if his team needs it". I wasn't justifying the hit.

      Walcott?
Not sure he has his ups and downs.
I would rather go for Pedro or Maddison

Both look good to me but Pedro prob ok for the short term so I'd go 1. Easier to bench for Liv's more difficult upcoming fix.

They won't keep as many clean sheets like last year. Last year Burnleys defs were a must.
This year go for man city and pools defence

Until they are out of Europa and Heaton is back in the sticks would be more accurate.

I have the armband on Salah but that old saying "form over fixtures" has me seriously thinking about breaking FPL Rule 1 - NO last minute changes on a Saturday morning barring injuries or team news confirmation.
