Sunday’s lunchtime kick-off sees unbeaten Watford take on Crystal Palace, with the visitors’ players the more widely owned in Fantasy Premier League.

One of their more popular assets, Aaron Wan-Bissaka (£4.1m), is suspended for today’s clash at Vicarage Road, with his place at full-back being taken by Joel Ward (£4.4m). Over 134,000 FPL managers sold Wan-Bissaka ahead of the Gameweek 3 deadline, though the budget defender is still present in 21% of our squads: in reality, the youngster’s net number of transfers out was just 568.

James Tomkins (£4.5m), meanwhile, injured himself in the warm-up and was replaced by Martin Kelly (£4.0m) in the Palace starting XI.

Wilfried Zaha (£7.0m) is the most-owned player on show this afternoon, sitting in just under 32% of FPL teams.

Max Meyer (£5.9m) is among the substitutes, despite boss Roy Hodgson saying the German midfielder was “ready to start” in Friday’s press conference.

Given the knee-jerk nature of FPL, Watford’s two most popular assets are unsurprisingly their star performers in Gameweek 1: Roberto Pereyra (£6.1m) and Jose Holebas (£4.6m) are owned by 7.3% and 6.6% of managers respectively.

Troy Deeney (£6.0m) delivered a double-digit haul in the win over Burnley last weekend and is the Hornets’ most-purchased player of this round: the Watford striker has attracted the investment of over 139,000 new FPL managers.

Javi Gracia has named the same Watford team for the third match in a row.

Watford XI (4-4-2): Foster; Janmaat, Cathcart, Kabasele, Holebas; Capoue, Doucoure, Hughes, Pereyra; Deeney, Gray.

Crystal Palace XI (4-4-2): Hennessey; Ward, Kelly, Sakho, van Aanholt; Townsend, Milivojevic, McArthur, Schlupp; Benteke, Zaha.

    Would honestly be happy to sit Richarlison on my bench until the 23rd of Sept as I want to play AWB. However I’m worried about his price dipping over the next month. Will this be an issue?

      Due to the international break he won't be playing again for three weeks. Could easily lose 0.2-0.3 imo

      Hard to say, if you got him at 6.5 then he can drop twice before you lose value. On the other hand if you sell and he drops to 6.4 (possible) you can rebuy him for cheaper..

      If you bought him for more than 6.5 I think just sell

        He has arsenal away on the 23rd so we could wait to get him back for the week after and hope he’s down to 6.4 by then what do we think?

        No he can only drop one before you lose value. If he drops to 6.6 your profit is gone.

    Predict approx no. of points these defenders will have by the end of the season:
    1- Robertson
    2- Mendy
    3- Alonso

          Virgil van Dijk has been involved in more Premier League clean sheets than any other player in the division since making his Liverpool debut in January.

      Alonso is going to top that list by the end of the season with around 170-180 points, IMO. Not sure how seriously Chelsea will take the Europa league, but without Champions league commitments, he will probably play more PL minutes as Robertson and Mendy get rotated (assuming no injuries for any of them)

      It is understood that because referee Craig Pawson awarded a free-kick, the incident was dealt with at the time and there will not be referred to a disciplinary panel.

    Richarlison red card totally turned my team upside down. Which transfers do you prefer?

    Foster / Fabianski
    Mendy / Luiz / TAA / Shaw / WB
    Salah / Mane / Rich / Romeu / Stephens
    Aguero / Morata / Tosun

    2 ft 0.5 itb

    A) Richarlison + Shaw --> Miki + Peirera
    B) Richarlison + Shaw --> Pedro + 5.5
    C) Salah + Rich + Romeu --> Hazard + Miki + Walcott -4 (0.5 ITB)
    D) Salah + Rich + Shaw --> Haz + Miki + Trippier -4 (1.0 ITB)
    E) Mane + Rich + Shaw --> Miki + Pedro + Trippier -4 (2.0 ITB)
    F) Mane + Rich + Shaw --> Miki + Walcott + Alonso -4 (1.5 ITB)
    G) Mane + Rich + Romeu --> Miki + Pedro + Walcott -4 (1.0 ITB)
    H) Salah + Rich + Romeu + Luiz --> Hazard + Miki + Pedro + Trippier -8

    Sorry for long post and endless possibilities. Wildcard chip could be used to get Pool cover back if need be

      Why is that crazy... A lot of casuals... Plus its worth to transfer him out since u have Pedro or Wallie for same price. If u need Rich so bad u can always get him back.

            i.e. if he can shake off his fractured skull, surely Richarlison can shake off a mere suspension.

          How many points are you on? If average or above, 1-1 in the Utd Spuds game to random scorers and you should be OK.

    Looking at the fixture ticker, a few teams about to go on a dream run of blues, so who do we see as the key targets?

    ARSENAL - cdf, new, EVE, WAT, ful
    No standout option emerged yet and terrible away form in 2018. I’m waiting on a soundbite from Emery that convinces me to get Lacazette for Firmino.

    CHELSEA - BOU, CDF, whu, LIV, sou
    First two home games offset the third. Is Hazard the only option or can Pedro keep pace? Which of Alonso, Mendy, Robertson misses out for those with only 2 premiums?

    PALACE - SOU, hud, NEW, bou, WLV
    So many value options here to help us afford premium ones elsewhere. Several great options in defence but could a mid/fwd warrant investment?

    MAN CITY - NEW, FUL, cdf, BHA, liv
    As a Mahrez owner without Mendy there’s decisions to be made here. Who gets rotated next? Will the former fox get a run now? Is anyone safe from Pep?

    MAN UTD - bur, wat, WLV, whu, NEW
    Three out of next four away make this run harder than it looks. But a differential could emerge from a side who need a reaction. Do Shaw, Pogba, Lukaku have potential?

      Alonso Mendy and Robbo all look amazing value given BAPs

      Zaha is worth keeping at that price

      The rest is all up in the air, Arsenal do like to beat on weaker teams but their defence is pathetic, and Auba has been quite average thus far

        Is avoiding a Man City mid the key to being able to afford all three of those defenders? Surely Hazard would miss out too unless you don’t have Salah.

      You don't need Pedro to keep pace with Hazard. He has to keep pace with Walcott et al. At 6.5, you even have the luxury of benching Pedro for LIV, if have a decent replacement waiting on the bench, without jeodardising the value of your XI too much.

      1. Fletcher Moss
        • 12 Years

        True, though if Hazard is going to far outscore him then surely you’d rather find a way to get him in? Although I must confess that it was meant to say keep his place haha.

        I do agree, and most will be thinking that way too. But does that create an opportunity to pick up points that others overlook? Pogba with penalties, for example. I currently have Shaw and will likely keep unless he’s dropped.
