Patience is proving a virtue for the Scoutcast’s latest guest, FPL General.

With top 500 finishes in all but one of his last four Fantasy Premier League seasons, his track record of giving players time to perform has certainly paid off.

Undaunted by a poor start this season he is sticking resolutely to the game plan, with Christian Eriksen and Josh King already rewarding him with attacking returns last time out, while many thousands of others were jettisoning them.

He joins Andy, David and myself to mull over a tricky last set of matches and look ahead to Gameweek 4.

Replacements for Everton’s red card villain Richarlison kick off our community question session, which also takes in Chelsea stars, the seemingly unstoppable rise of premium defenders and Wildcard timing.

      FPLStatistics says you're ok but FFFix says Rich will go down so it's a risk. It's up to you but what extra info are you going to get tomorrow that will change your mind on the transfer?

        The rules change only applies to bans gotten from yellow cards to hinder speculation in when to get them.

              No, that means he's suspended until that day, then becomes available after.

              The rule change i'm referring to is cards for specific competions; i.e if Rich got his red in the EPL cup he'd be suspended for EPL games only, like the rule for European competitions in comparion to domestic games previously.

    So a question to the DZ about linking your team. Now that I know my rivals aren’t on the site.

    Are you not worried that you’ll explose your moves and tactics to your rivals by linking your team?

    I know a few on my main ML rivals frequent the site, so I’m not really sure I want to give them the opportunity to spot me here. At least not for later in the season...

          They wouldn't be able to see your moves, only the amount of transfers made then they have to guess. Sometimes if my rival takes a hit it makes me consider if it's worth it for my team or not.

      This site is so popular now. I’ve seen the FFS league pop up a good few times in ML rivals leagues. I must admit, it’s made me stop posting so much. Especially when there’s money at stake.

      They can't see your moves.

      I think it creates a more honest and open place. You leave yourself open for criticism but also adds another incentive to become a better player.

      And yes I'd rather listen to someone with 10 top 1k ranks than no links.

        I usually make around 80 transfers a season because i'm mad. My OR has never been a target, just winning the same ML for the last 12 years. I used to have team values of around 117m by the end of the season from playing the market, at least 110m plus. IMO it's less fun now; despite this I'm gonna try and be sensible this year!

        Not sure respect on this site is my main reason for chasing a better OR haha, but I am a bit bummed I can’t/won’t show my rank to fellow posters on here.

        Not saying here is anything wrong with listening more the elite managers tban randoms, as said above. But I do think there should be some sort of understanding for not being willing to have your team linked

      My main ML rival has been monitoring my posts on here for a few years, so occasionally I bait him with false transfer information. If you track rival's team values and $ ITB it's not too difficult to figure out their transfers.

              Honestly there isn’t anything that really comes to mind. Chillwell got good fixtues after pool. You could consider Wilson-Jiminez and upgrade Chill to TAA, I probably wouldn’t with Pool’s fixtues.
              I think Doherty at 4.4 could be good value, so you could consider him and then upgrade Wilson to Mitro?
              It’s that or Hamer or Billing - depending on if you want to improve your bench.
              Are you leaning towards anything specifically ?

                I could move towards a 3-5-2 that flexes to a 3-4-3 with:

                Chillwell => 4.5
                Billing=> Fraser
                Wilson=> Jimenez

                  Similar to what i said ;). Id be tempted to keep Chillwell though. Fraser on set pieces though and nailed... Wolves also have nice fixtures and Jimenez was rested completely in cup so also nailed imo. Alsooo, Fuchs bagged and assisted for Leicester in cup so whos to say he doesnt get a sniff in prem at some point

                  A bit of a benching headache, But much stronger team.
                  Jiminez good fixtures and Wolves looking to improve.
                  Fraser seems Excellent value.
                  And as I don’t Really rate Leicester def THAT much, I Think you’ll be better off.

    I passed on 6.6 players that have risen as Rich replacement but was leaning towards Fraser/Schurrle. Even though I have King I think Fraser seems a good long term pick

      How is your team looking? And do want Rich back when he returns? You probably wouldn’t play Fraser this week, so not sure it’s worth 2 FTs if you want Rich back and have a decent bench

            Mahrez 1 point.

            My team and structure is better now, with 2.5m ITB & didn't lose 0.1m on King, 0.2m on Mahrez, 0.1m on Bednarek.

            Would have had 8 more points but way more problems.

              Personally think hits aren't as bad as people think. Ive taken a hit this week to bring in Jimenez and Hazard for Firminho and Rich which will surely be worth. Good moves imo

    No one mention siggy? When player get transfered in by more than 500k people, usually they go blank. It happens several time to player like wally and he is injured in first 20 minutes.

      Points chasing imo. Should have had him from the beginning, as we knew Son was out for a number of weeks.
      Upcoming fixtues aren’t easy and his gametime will be threathened by Son and Lamela soon.
      People were making fun of Walcott buyers saying his shot stats were unsustainable, just look at Moura’s.
      Yes he looked very dangerous against United, but I’m not sure he will be that high up every game.

        He's been up near Kane every game. I got him from the start luckily. I think people are forgetting he was a bargain 25m from PSG & Ferguson was desperate to sign him to replace Ronaldo all those years ago. He's miles better than Lamela, Alli could play deeper to accommodate Son if he keeps up his form. Ignore at your peril.

          Yeah he’s a good player and he adds that pace that they have been missing a bit.
          I’m happy going without for now, but if he retains his spot and continues to impress, I’ll have to bite the bullet at some point .

          Yh i had him from start... almost got rid before United game but wanted a spurs player as i hate man u. So worked out really well for me hahaha, then rich got a red so all the more reason to keep moura :). May look to swap him for perreya when watford fixtures come nicer and if he looks to be rotated

      I think 3-5-2 is a very good formation considering there are more midfield options under 7.5m than there are strikers.

    Would you go for a fifth 5.0 mid or a fifth 4.5 def (over 4.5 and 4.0, respectively). Would have wanted Kante for that fifth mid spot but have Pedro Hazard and Alonso already. Any other decent options?
