Patience is proving a virtue for the Scoutcast’s latest guest, FPL General.

With top 500 finishes in all but one of his last four Fantasy Premier League seasons, his track record of giving players time to perform has certainly paid off.

Undaunted by a poor start this season he is sticking resolutely to the game plan, with Christian Eriksen and Josh King already rewarding him with attacking returns last time out, while many thousands of others were jettisoning them.

He joins Andy, David and myself to mull over a tricky last set of matches and look ahead to Gameweek 4.

Replacements for Everton’s red card villain Richarlison kick off our community question session, which also takes in Chelsea stars, the seemingly unstoppable rise of premium defenders and Wildcard timing.

      Did Rich > Fraser but to upgrade somewhere else. Mane > Hazard looks sideway, both totally fixture-proof. The only advantage to have Hazard over Mane is you can switch him to Kane easlier imo

    How do you know after a few years of playing this whether you are a flexible and evolving FPL manager like Guardiola or a stubborn, refusing to change tactics, Mourinho type FPL manager ?

      I'm a Mourinho when it comes to my bench and team structure (3-5-2 forever) but a Guardiola when it comes to players.

      Some may say that being stubborn about the fact that I always want a super cheap bench if possible to maximize money in the XI is a weakness. But it's served me well for a long time and I'm not gonna suddenly go 5 at the back after 3 good weeks for defenders.

      But I am however always willing to give players chances. Kante for instance. An FPL landmine for years but this season he actually has some pretty aggressive heatmaps and stats that make me think he's worth considering.
