Romelu Lukaku has the potential to complicate the plans of Fantasy Premier League managers in the coming weeks.

That’s because the Manchester United forward appears to be back to his best ahead of a run of favourable fixtures.

The Belgian’s underlying numbers have yielded three goals in as many matches so far in 2018/19, and five bonus points to boot.

When he was in form at the start of last season his ownership peaked at 60.2 percent in October, with his price at the time £0.8m higher than it is now.

So we’ve had a look at whether he’s worth including in our Fantasy squads again, especially considering he is backed by just 7.5 percent ahead of Gameweek 5.

Fantasy Football Scout members can read ahead, and also pour over Lukaku’s data in the Members Area.

I'd vote for him for goal of the month vs Fulham, but nah, not player of the month. I wouldve gone for someone like Mane or even VvD.

Agree with this. Not a good idea to go with just one 4.5

Wolves seems the most likely to be able to hold out against the big teams, plus the best, most experienced keeper out of the lot.

I've been on Patricio as my 4.5 along with Norris from GW1. About a week ago the general feeling around here was that Patricio needed to go, but as you can see, he's now considered as possibly the best option. Maybe opinions are results based, so I would advise that you forget the scores they currently have, and consider which team is likely to get the most CSs until your next WC (or for at least 10 GWs if you've used your first WC), as they can all make saves. I like Patricio myself, because Wolves look like a unit, and I fancy them to be the best against top opposition, which makes him a little more 'fixture-proof' than the others. It's basically speculation though.

    Afternoon all,

    Would really appreciate some advice on what to do with this team;

    Ederson (Hamer)
    Shaw Mendy Robertson Wan-Bisakka Boly
    Salah Mane Walcott Mkhi Cairney
    Kun Zaha Ings

Was going to do Salah & Boly to Alonso & Hazard for a -4 but I think there are more pressing issues (especially with the midfield).

    Any feedback is much appreciated!

Um. Wildcard transfers don’t count toward price changes.

Have you already blown up your team and crafted a brand new squad to your liking? If not, how long do you think you will be able to hold off in using the first-half unlimited transfer wildcard chip?
Don't forget that 4 weeks ago and after much consternation, you eventually settled on a final fantasy team before the season, and you loved it, didn’t you? Four games in, you hate it, and you want to blow it up. Well, what’s to say that the same thing won’t happen again four games after you have your new team? Just saying...

It depends how you feel about the team. I WC’d last GW and with 70 pts moved up to 89K OR.

My team was simply wasn’t feeling right and bringing in Hennessey, Hazard, Alonso and Mitro worked out well. I feel I now have the in form players and happy with it.

It could’ve backfired of course but sometime you gotta go with gut feeling when you think your team simply not functioning with poor bench and missing out on in form players with good fixtures

Our original teams were hamstrung by late arrivals from the World Cup, transfer window etc ... things have settled down, we know where the rotation issues are at Arsenal, Man U, City & Spurs etc., the cheap enabler defenders and mids have emerged too ... I don’t think a GW1 team compares to a GW4 WC team with respect to knowledge of players etc.

I don't think it is wrong, we didn't know pre-GW1 which players would and would not play, so we made decisions based on that uncertainty

        2. Hotdogs for Tea
          • 10 Years

I disagree in the strongest terms possible Mr Wizzard 🙂 ... we were in limbo regarding who would start and in which GW ... the fact that some did start is irrelevant because we simply didn’t know and made compromises

Personally I wanted Sterling / D Silva & Trippier but couldn’t gamble on them

... off the top of my head I don’t think any of these started GW1 though .... Small, Jones, Young, Lingard, Lukaku, D Silva, Hazard, Vardy, Trippier ...

A WC today is a lot more satisfying a journey than the original pre GW1 squad selection, which is the point I am making 🙂

I like to look at the season this way: You get unlimited transfers three times per year, in the pre-season plus the two wildcard chips. So use your two wildcards to slice the entire season into thirds.

By this simple, cold, hard mathematical logic, you need each squad reset to get you through about 12-13 weeks of the 38 week season, otherwise one of your other resets must last even longer. That would have you use the first chip around GW-14 and the second around GW-26.
However, that is not the ideal way of doing things, because it fails to take into account the quirks of the Premier League schedule. The main three that stand out are the hectic winter fixture congestion, then the January transfer window, and finally the late-season double game-week insanity.

I look at completely differently ...

1 your first team is a guess
2 you first WC puts your original team in a place you want it to be (whatever GW you play it)
3 your second WC is used in prior to the DGW or blank and planned in unison with the Free Hit chip

    A few questions lads:

    Cedric or Doherty?
    Pereyra or Maddison?

      Doherty

For the second one, I really want to say Maddison but the jury is still out on him for me so I'd have to say Pereyra. Plus, he's been subbed early every match. Can you squeeze Ghezzal in with Pereyra to at least get into the LEI attack?

Thoroughly livid that i've lost value on Wheelchair & Peltier....Plenty of decent direct replacements at their original price!

      Peltier is a fraud.

In gwk2 i needed him, Cardiff kept a CS but he didnt play and i got AWB in for -2.

He still sits on my bench mocking me

Best option 4.5 midfield option for a bench fodder midfielder? Currently on Ward for Cardiff.

Mendy/Alonso/Robertson who would you downgrade and who too? Fund David Silva to Hazard

    current team

    Foster/Fabianski
    Mendy/Robertson/Alonso/Bennet/Wan-Bissaka
    David Silva/Pedro/Maddison/Mane/Walcott
    Firmino/Aguero/Wilson

    0.5 in the bank.

Pedro is on my fix list if he doesn't nail down his position. going to see how it goes over the next few weeks.

Fair play, actually agree on the above commment if you are determined to get Hazard in.

My WC team is currently B...
Except I have Deeney instead of Wilson.
And I'm considering changing to A with TAA instead of chillwell just because of the scary thought of salah killing it.

      I'm stuck

    Mane> salah
    Lucas Moura> 4.5 mid

Or stick with mane and moura?
    And risk salahless team?

Depends on rest of your team but I would make the move, Moura becomes a rotation risk once Son returns and has overachieved so far

        Team on wc is this

        Hennessey, McCarthy
        Alonso, robbo, mendy, (holebas. WB)
        Hazard, maddison, Fraser
        Kun, Mitrovic, deeney

Then the other 2 mids are either salah +4.5 or mane + moura

I'd like that team better with Salah in it

Yeah Im thinking the same thing just weakens my bench mid and not sure who to put in at 4.5 mid.

Also thinking to downgrade robbo to TAA and upgrade McCarthy to Kepa or Pickford maybe?

    Aubameyang or Lukaku?

Or neither and upgrade Mane to Salah?
