Fantasy Football Scout are pleased to announce the very first episode of Meet the Manager, where we interview Fantasy managers with a superb track record over their career.

Over the season we’ll find out from them what it takes to get a top finish in the game, explore their key strategies for success and also gain some valuable tips on tackling the current campaign.

To kick off the series I was joined earlier today by Nick, who is better known within the Fantasy Football Scout community as Triggerlips.

Over his 11-year career, he has finished in the top 1,000 an impressive four times, including 2012/13’s finish of 35th. Indeed across his last nine campaigns, he has only finished outside the top 50,000 twice.

Paying close attention to team structure and balanced distribution of funds is among the nuggets of advice that New Zealand-based Nick serves up.

He also reveals the importance of accumulating wealth early on and making sure the vast array of Fantasy advice on social media is treated with caution.

And while he is taking a patient approach with Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang this season he is “not liking the look of (Mohamed) Salah one little bit”.

The chat with Nick is available to view on YouTube here and in the embedded video below:

    Thoughts on Son please.
Looking to get him in for GW 7 for 3 plum fixtures.
Yeah he won't get 90 every week but for 2 season now he has proven he does need to. to get close to 200 points.
    Better value than Eriksen?
    The other factor is GW7
Pedro to Son would be free
Pedro to Eriksen would be for a hit

    1. Eze Really?
      • 11 Years

The need for Spurs cover is obvious but unsure about any of their mids considering form/rotation. I have Moura. Eriksen too expensive considering choices. If I had a choice it would probably be Trippier ATM. Having WB Doherty or Bennet offers decent cover for rotation.

        valid points.
Thing is that I want to plough the cash I have ITB into that midfield spot anyway.
Can't see much better option for a 3 week punt. If it don't work that spot will just be upgraded a bit more to someone like Mane to go with Salah when the fixtures turn for them.

        1. Eze Really?
          • 11 Years

I have 3.8 mil ITB with a similar problem. Having Fraser gives me the spare cash that would normally be on a more expensive player. I have Ings and fixtures say time to move and I can go Vardy or Laca. With WB and Doherty there are enablers on my bench so spending the money on Laca will give me a selection headache. But I do have Moura.

    hello all,

Thinking I'll save a FT this week, and then go with the flow and use 2FT next week (1 of which will likely be used to say goodbye to Pedro). Sound like a plan? and should I start Wally over AWB? any opinions would be appreciated !

    1FT 1.9m ITB

    Ederson
    Mendy, Robbo, Alonso, AWB
    Hazard(C), Mane, Fraser, Pedro
    Kun, Wilson

    Bench: Hamer, Walcott, Jimenez, Cook

Looking at my 12 main players I pick up the fact that the top 1 000 have:
Fraser and Hennesy 10% owned and the next, Wilson 27% owned.
I cannot remember such a strong template.
Get the captaincy pick right and there will be a green arrow. Get it wrong and it will be a red.
Doing OK at 20k but I am getting a little bored with the game for the first time.

Hesitant about bringing in Hazard because price rose too much and the ‘curse of most transferred in player’. Anyway what do you guys think of Richarlison matching Hazard points output over the next 4 games. (Hazard has Liverpool and Man Utd coming up)

Hopefully he does well considering Arsenal defence is leaky, particularly on the right due to Bellerin’s tendency to go forward too much

Totally agree. The only way I could see myself making an exception is if his price threatens to get away from me in the meantime, but even so should still have options with Salah and premium defenders to downgrade.

    1a Ederson/Robertson/Firmino
    1b Ederson/Robertson/Laca
    1c Ederson/TAA/one of the above strikers + $ ITB

    2a 4.5 GK/TAA/Aubs
    2b 4.5 GK/TAA/Aguero

I still think Aubs can get it going in a major way

Currently have Salah & Mane, No Hazard....

I've been tied all week between bringing Hazard in (as I missed out on the 20pt haul last week) and alternatively Keeping Salah/Mane for a great home tie for Southampton.

The only other route to get Hazard is to either take a -4 or downgrade Kun, both of which feel very uncomfortable.

Could really do with a Hazard blank to justify my gut decision to hold Salah/Mane.

As you said Liverpool have a great fixture and Chelsea are playing away (against West H/am admittedly). I'd keep both Liverpool mids for now as both could haul. Liverpool and Chelsea play the week after so depending on who you think will win that game, make your transfers then.

      1. RAMZES666

Wouldn't be surprised if West Ham at home can give Chelsea a good game, certainly won't be an easy win like last weekend for Chelsea and therefore Hazard won't haul two weeks on a row...
Stick with Salah/Mane against Shampton this week.

Looks great. I would prefer Patricio though. Shaw+Mitro is way over Robbo+Ings for the next 3. Instead of spending a FT right after the WC, I would include Richarlison from the beginning. He is much more dangerous than Maddison and Arsenal is not that good defensively.

Yeah, I've got him too but I'm holding this week to see what happens. I think it's only a matter of time before Pep starts rotating quite a bit and it's tough to say who he's going to stick with in defence this year. Last year Otamendi. This year Mendy? Maybe.

        • 14 Years

That’s my current thinking. It’s startibg to look like I’ll only have two city players in a month or so, when I finally get Kane in for Kun (Mendy and Ederson). Takes the rotation risk out of the equation

Yeah, you sort of have to make hay with the City guys whilst they don't have too many games then reassess and regroup to see how their team's looking and how Pep is managing them.

As bad as he & Spurs have been, could Kane still be worth a 2-3 week punt for hud CAR whu?

Salah is in last chance saloon for me, a blank or benching against SOT and he's gone. Feel like I've missed the window to get Hazard until GW9 now, so Salah/Ings would get me Richarlison/Kane for a few plum fixtures in the meantime (still leaving me with Robbo/Mane/Pedro/Alonso for Pool & Chelsea cover).

I know but Cardiff are sooooo bad. It's the captaincy option when Liverpool and City play each other that appeals.

Hmmmm....Kun blanked last 2 away fixtures....Hazard did better in half the time on the pitch in his A. Food for thought.

Yes, but Kun is up against a very weak Cardiff team next and you can be sure there will be a big reaction after losing to Lyon!

I'm going Mo. Tempted to take him out after the Southampton game but when you see his underlying stats, it makes it a tough decision. He's got to be in the goals this week.

After listening I realise I have to do something about Mhiki, Wally and Tosun. I am only willing take one hit . Who would you do out?

I am considering keeping Tosun for the case if Salah blanks and I get Hazard + Vardy / Laca. What do you think.

In mids are Rich and Fraser for me. Madi in contention too

Tosun out he's absolutely terrible...I gotta get rid this week too!

But I will wait and see how Ars lines up... hope for big Mhiki haul. I am a believer. And I also believe Tosun can have his first goal vs Arsenal. But Mitro would be great replacement (if I keep Salah)

I gave Tosun his last chance at home to West Ham last weekend was expecting some returns...He wasn't involved at all like the rest of the Everton team. He's got to go this week!

He was involved enough. But didn`t score in 2 big chances he had.

I'd cap Haz if I had. Capping Kun cause I don't.

I own all of those and it's very close between the four of them for me! But a little wary of Mane getting a rest so prob won't go with him!

3.3m ITB, 1FT, offload some dead wood now or just save for 2FT?

    Patricio | Hamer
    Mendy | Alonso | TAA | AWB | Peltier
    Hazard | Mane | Fraser | Walcott | Jota
    Augero | Mitrovic | King

Best BOU attack cover - Fraser or Wilson ? Ofcourse, Fraser is 0.6m cheaper and had a monster haul last GW, but over next 5 GWs can he keep out-performing Wilson? I doubt that.

Wilson probably, but that 0.6 can come in handy.

      Wilson

I have Wilson because of attacking involvement. However, with King on Pens the choice is not easy.
I think Fraser is the key and I am surprised he is only owned by 9% of the top 1k

Agree. Would have been Wilson surely if he was on Pens.

      1. Attacking cover? Just go for the player you fancy the most.
      2. Go for Wilson if you're having doubts over Fraser. Time will tell.
