The Fantasy Premier League community turns its attention to Eden Hazard (£10.9m) and Marcos Alonso (£6.9m) for Chelsea’s visit to West Ham this afternoon.

Only Ryan Fraser (£5.7m) earned more new owners ahead of Gameweek 6 than Hazard, signed by 600,000+ Fantasy managers following his hat-trick against Cardiff.

Meanwhile, left-back Alonso is this match’s most popular player, currently sitting in 44% of squads. Both he and Hazard have been named in the Chelsea starting XI at the London Stadium.

However, there is disappointment for the 14% invested in Marko Arnautovic (£7.0m). The West Ham forward has been left out of the matchday squad entirely after picking up an injury in Gameweek 5.

That may prove positive news for Alonso owners and other Fantasy managers bought into the Chelsea defence. Arnautovic scored the solitary goal the last time the Blues travelled to face West Ham, resulting in a 1-0 win for the Hammers.

Coming in for the Austrian is FPL midfielder Michail Antonio (£6.8m) who will lead the Hammers line this afternoon.

WEST HAM XI (4-3-3): Fabianski; Masuaku, Diop, Balbuena, Zabaleta; Rice, Obiang, Noble; Anderson, Antonio, Yarmolenko.

CHELSEA XI (4-3-3): Kepa; Alonso, Rüdiger, David Luiz, Azpilicueta; Kovacic, Kanté, Jorginho; Hazard, Giroud, Willian.

I must be the only player in FPL to have played Balbuena this week. 81 all out, into the top 100k for the first time and wildcard still gathering dust. Need a defender this week, price is no object, any suggestions?

Gamble - chasing. Don't think it will work, but you got to try when you are miles behind a ML leader. Would not advise it to anyone who is flying (i.e. Top 100k).

70 pts behind my ML leader (started in Top 1k OR this GW). FPL is a leader's game - easier to protect your rank than chase down.

No, I meant save points was my reasoning for playing over Foster and this paid off. The clean sheet is an unexpected bonus.

I likewise played Foster over Fabianski, but cannot believe the people on here...

Who on earth would ever pick a goalkeeper playing Chelsea over a goalkeeper playing fulham, absolute eejits whining about not playing Fabianski

Do you look for keepers with poor match ups intentionally? For the sole purpose of save points?

        1. WDT
          • 14 Years
          7 years, 6 months ago

No. However I made a decision that I didn't need to transfer out one of my keeepers this week as I felt Fab has a tendency to pick up lots of save points so would see me through.

Fulham at home arent going to blank, but they were unlikely to dominate, meaning less save point potential for Foster. I went with Fab hoping for him to get a 5 pointer from saves, the cleanie was a bonus.

That was my thought process - Foster was higly likely to get 2pts, Fab couldve ranged from 0 pts to uupward of 5

First bench probably plays anyway, as I have:

        Robbo MENDY Doherty

As staring back line. Would you play WB before one of them?

Hard to call just yet. Arsenal game was a bit of a test, both teams wasted chances. They didn't sit back then. No other PL opposition are a big team. Can't compare with other leagues and players.
