Fantasy managers turn to unpredictable Stamford Bridge showdown

There were few team selection surprises ahead of Chelsea’s big Premier League clash with Liverpool.

However, Fantasy Premier League managers remain apprehensive, with this particular match proving very hard to call.

The stock of Mohamed Salah (£13.0m) has fallen in recent weeks but he still sits at 41.2% ownership. Eden Hazard (£11.0m) is not far behind as he is backed by 36.8% of Fantasy managers. So there are plenty out there hoping for attacking returns.

However, it will be difficult for many to know where their allegiances lie in this one as defenders Marcos Alonso (£6.9m) and Andrew Robertson (£6.3m) remain fashionable assets.

The Chelsea man is in 45.3% of squads, with Robertson in 27.2%.

With highly-owned premium forwards Sergio Aguero (£11.4m) and Harry Kane (£12.4m) already delivering this weekend, there will be pressure on anyone who has captained a player at Stamford Bridge.

Liverpool’s defensive prospects have been boosted by the fact that Virgil van Dijk (£6.0m) has been passed fit.

CHELSEA XI (4-3-3): Kepa; Alonso, Luiz, Rüdiger, Azpilicueta; Kante, Jorginho, Kovacic; Willian, Hazard, Giroud.

LIVERPOOL XI (4-3-3): Alisson; Robertson, Van Dijk, Gomez, Alexander-Arnold; Wijnaldum, Henderson, Milner; Mané, Firmino, Salah.

Can’t decide either. May keep both as have Walcott and King too. Salah gets the chances but missing them so Mane being cheaper might edge it.

I just don t understand how you are ewpexting mane to outscore salah, Salah have been the most dangerous player at liverpool, he could have scored easily today , i didn t see any real chances wasted from mane, on the other side also salah would create assists also , so how is the comparison going to say mane is better then? I might be missing something ?

Very early days but at a loss already on what to do here?

    2FT 0.5 ITB

    Patricio / Hamer
    Alonso / Trippier / Robbo / Wan / Doherty
    Salah / Hazard / Rich / Maddy / Hojb
    Kun / Ings / Mitro

Not sure it's wise to lose Salah with Cardiff and Huddersfield coming and Ings has some decent enough fixtures coming too

72 points with Fraser and Ward to go. 93 and then 60 and now this. WC has worked wonders. 😀

4K with 74 and Wilson and Fraser to play. So inside top 2-3K presumably. Played WC on international break. Team was ok but spotted opportunities to take advantage of. Had huge scores each week since.

Does nothing for the conventional wisdom that you should WC when team is in disrepair. WC when you see the best opportunity to make points

    Salah > sterling
    Mane > maddison
    Kun > kane
    Ings > arnautovic
    Smalling > trippier
Fraser > richarilson (once fraser fixtures turn)

+ around 1m itb for keeper upgrade

Worth a wc? Think salah is a bit off atm and kun keeps getting hooked at 60m atleast kane is pretty much 90 guaranteed
