We have begun our update of the Watchlist ready for Gameweek 9.

Up first is the goalkeepers after we ran the rule over the best Fantasy Premier League options between the sticks.

Read ahead to find out how we’ve ranked each asset.

Alisson (£5.6m) remains top of the Watchlist for goalkeepers but has consolidated his position there. The Liverpool man’s latest clean sheet brings his form back to A, with only three shot-stoppers ranking higher than him in that department on the official FPL website. Alisson also gets the Favourable Fixtures back with Huddersfield (away), Cardiff (home), Arsenal (away) and Fulham (home) his next four matches.

Ederson‘s (£5.7m) factors remain the same, A for form and no fixture aspect, so he stays in second place. Two home fixtures against Burnley and Southampton appear to have excellent clean sheet potential but they sit next to a trip to Spurs and the visit of Manchester United.

Another shutout and bonus-haul for Rui Patricio (£4.6m) in Gameweek 8 justified our decision to put him third on the Watchlist several weeks ago. The Wolves man obviously retains his A for form, has appealing fixtures and is still a bargain at £4.6 so he stays where he is.

Kepa (£5.5m) comes back onto the goalkeeper Watchlist in fourth place following the recent drop in Marcos Alonso‘s (£7.0m) attacking numbers. We had taken the decision to remove the Chelsea shot-stopper because Alonso was offering potential at both ends of the pitch, and when we weren’t so sure about Chelsea keeping clean sheets, we did not want to hugely encourage a defensive double-up. However, if Alonso is regressing offensively, and Maurizio Sarri’s men are looking solid at the back, then Kepa deserves to be an option once again as he can offer the same level of defensive potential for a much cheaper price.

Kasper Schmeichel (£5.0m) rises up the rankings a little as Leicester’s fixtures look very promising after Gameweek 9. Furthermore, they have ranked very favourably for shots conceded, efforts on target allowed and big chances conceded over the last four Gameweeks, all of which can be seen in the Members’ Area.

Bernd Leno (£4.8m) retains the Favourable Fixtures for a little longer which is why he is still sixth in the list. Once a home match with Leicester and a trip to Crystal Palace are out of the way, Arsenal face tough matches against Liverpool, Spurs and Man United between Gameweek 11 and 15.

Likely to overtake the German very soon, and hot on his tails, is Brighton shot-stopper Mat Ryan (£4.5m). His first clean sheet of the season in Gameweek 8, plus some bonus too, was timed well with the Seagulls’ fixture swing and has seen his form rise from C to B. Between now and Gameweek 21 on our Season Ticker, they rank second for defence.

Ben Foster (£4.5m) returns to the Watchlist now that Watford’s fixtures have perked back up again. The schedule is favourable for the Hornets with Huddersfield, Newcastle and Southampton three of their next four opponents. Foster comes in with a C for form with no clean sheet since Gameweek 1, however.

Just below him is Newcastle’s custodian Martin Dubravka (£5.0m). The Magpies may have allowed a considerable number of shots over the past four Gameweeks but the quality of their fixtures cannot be overlooked. Brighton (home), Southampton (away) and Watford (home) are their next three opponents.

Lukasz Fabianski (£4.5m) gets onto the list for his ability to cover Rui Patricio’s tougher fixtures in Gamweeks 11 and 12. That’s when Wolves face Spurs and Arsenal while West Ham play Burnley and Huddersfield.

Not surprisingly, Wayne Hennessey (£4.6m) has now dropped off the Watchlist. Crystal Palace’s awful quadruple-hit of tough fixtures is now just one week away. Between Gameweeks 10 and 13, the Eagles must run the gauntlet of Arsenal (home), Chelsea (away), Spurs (home) and Man United (away).

Joe Hart (£4.6m) has also been pushed off the Watchlist after failing to keep it Cardiff or Huddersfield. Furthermore, it’s Man City (away) and Chelsea (home) up next for the Clarets.

Alonso will massively outscore Luiz imo.
I'm not sure Sterling will do that to KDB from this point

    Patricio / Hamer
    Alonso / Robertson / Doherty / Tomkins / AWB
    Salah / Hazard / Richalison / Fraser / Neves
    Aguero / Zaha / Mitrovic

Kind of want Mendy in, but still not totally convinced.

    Tomkins/Fraser > Mendy/Kenedy

    Or find another way?

Alternatively, could do also Neves > 4.4 and get Knockaert for Fraser. Tough!

Yep, expect MCI to spank Burnley and for some reason have the feeling Liverpool will struggle due to all the injuries they have mounting up. See more rest for Salah than Sterling. Can get Sterling in this week while Salah drops in price and then reverse the transfer next week when Liverpool has Cardiff at home. This is a luxury transfer I will admit but my team is good and I have nothing more pressing to do.

    3. MTPockets

You probably can't afford both Mane/Salah and Sterling in your team together with Hazard, so need to choose. Individual points more important than team coverage. Currently Sterling is outperforming Mane and Salah, so why get them rather than Sterling?

You are going to have so much trouble upgrading any players though. You have split your players between Uber expensive and budget. TAA is the only player I can see ripe for a downgrade to upgrade Wilson to Arnie, for example.

Think he will be above average for the long term but not good.

Hit and Miss. Doesn't brace and Leicester are poor under Puel.

I think he'll do well but don't know if he'll be worth his price with the likes of Arnie and Mitro around.

Would it be much better to have Lacazette over him? or Mitro - and use the cash elsewhere?

I believe Mendy matches Alonso for returns and therefore I'm going Alonso > Mendy and bank the change.

If both played equal minutes perhaps, but doubt that will be the case.

Agree- Mendy is injury prone. However, if fit he starts each game.

City, Liverpool lack the belief they can win and Chelsea still in transition.

City, they're top without last years POTS (De Bruyne) starting a match, imagine what they could do with him in the side, Liverpool have a great Starting XI but don't have the squad depth to win the League just yet

Chelsea as they have no champs league and it’s very hard for a team to retain the title.

I am on my WC now and would really want Arnie but he is facing Spurs this week. What is the best move?

    A) get him and play him vs Spurs
    B) get him and bench him, play Maddison
    C) get Wilson/murray and switch to Arnie next week

          Hamer->Patricio imo.Gw 11,12,15,18,20,22 are tough for Wolves.

Kane and Fraser to Arnautovic and Hazard sounds great, especially the Hazard part, you need him ASAP

Yeah, i'm desperate to do that move now...but i have to let Kane have this 1 last game week before i move him on, and also Hazard has Man United this week so it "should" be tougher

Concidering saving ft and doing Bilva, Agu, zaha -> kdb, laca, jimenez over the weekend. Any other thoughts? Need of course to see how the weekend goes

    Having this lot

    Foster
    Robbo alsonso doherty
    Salah Bilva Maddison Hazard
    Agu Zaha ings

    Wan B, Stephens, Bennet, Hamer

Could do Zaha > Jim in preparation as likely to get more points this GW.

Thanks for the reply, I do concider it. However I think they have the same potential this Gameweek and I have Foster in goal, this I believe saving a better option for now

Been thinking of upgrading Fraser to sterling. But just though - probably better to upgrade Maddison. I think Fraser offers better value (and can bench in hard fixtures).

    Agree?

I would sell Maddison before Fraser. Stanislas may eat into Fraser's game time though

Not sure, think Brooks is the one who will miss out to Stan more. But yeah Fraser could get some more earlier subs due to the squad depth.

Any chance that David Silva will fall in price over next couple weeks? Have exact cash for him --> Mane atm but don't want to do it till next week

Highly doubt, with KDB back, Silva will start to get more attacking returns.

If he plays? Dilva was a must when KDB was missing as they give direction to the team. But, with KDB back Dilva may not be required as much.
