We have updated our Watchlist ahead of Gameweek 14 of Fantasy Premier League.

This is our tool, which can be found on the sidebar of the website, that ranks each of the best Fantasy options in each position. We use factors such as form, fixtures and value to choose the order.

There have been some big changes in midfield and attack as well as a return of some popular budget assets in defence.

Harry Kane (£12.3m) is the biggest riser among the forwards as Spurs’ fixture swing is imminent. The man himself is in form having recorded attacking returns in each of his last three outings and, in that time, his underlying statistics are finally consistently at the level we have come to expect from him. Kane will go up against Southampton, Leicester and Burnley in three of his next four matches, all of which he has scored hat-tricks against in the past. Meanwhile, his Gameweek 14 encounter sees him travel to Arsenal. He has five goals in his last six encounters with Spurs’ north London rivals.

Sergio Aguero (£11.5m) remains the top striker despite recent discoveries about his away form. The Gameweek 14 match against Bournemouth at the Etihad Stadium has him as a serious captain candidate this week.

It’s a double delight for owners of Crystal Palace defensive assets as Wayne Hennessey (£4.5m) and Aaron Wan-Bissaka (£4.2m) come back onto the Watchlist. Having emerged from the gauntlet of facing Arsenal, Chelsea, Spurs and Manchester United in four consecutive Gameweeks, the Eagles now fare much better on the Season Ticker. Only two teams rank higher than them for defence over the next four Gameweeks, with Burnley (home), Brighton (away), West Ham (away) and Leicester (home) their next four opponents.

Making way for the pair are Burnley’s Joe Hart (£4.5m) and Watford’s Kiko Femenia (£4.3m). Both players have tough fixtures coming up and neither club has been adept at keeping clean sheets this year.

Liverpool’s best defensive assets Alisson (£5.7m) and Andrew Robertson (£6.5m) remain top of their respective piles on account of their solidity this season. No team has conceded fewer shots inside their penalty box in the last four Gameweeks. However, with an away match at Bournemouth in Gameweek 16 and the hosting of Manchester United in Gameweek 17, their fixtures are no longer favourable over the next four.

After the Wolves defensive duo of Rui Patrício (£4.6m) and Matt Doherty (£4.9m) let their owners down in Gameweek 13, they find themselves in a similar situation on the Watchlist. Regardless of that slip-up at home to Huddersfield, they remain in our consideration but their fixtures have also been downgraded. Trips to Cardiff and Newcastle have excellent clean sheet potential but home matches against Chelsea and Bournemouth between now and Gameweek 17 hold less hope.

There are some big changes in midfield as Leroy Sané (£9.3m) and Dele Alli (£8.9m) make their way onto the Watchlist. They come in for Sadio Mané (£9.9m) and James Maddison (£6.8m) respectively. We felt that doubling-up on a Manchester City midfield of Raheem Sterling (£11.3m) and Sané would be more effective considering the form and fixtures of Mohamed Salah (£13.0m) and Mané. We believe Sané’s place in the team is more secure than usual given the injury to Benjamin Mendy, but because we don’t completely trust Pep Guardiola we have given him the Rotation Risk factor, just as we have on Sterling. The fact that we are more confident over Salah’s place in the team is why he stays top of the Watchlist for now.

Alli comes into consideration with Spurs’ aforementioned fixture swing, amid competition for a place from Christian Eriksen and Son Heung-min. We felt that the South Korean’s place in the Spurs’ side was not as settled as we’d like, even if he is a much more attractive price. Also, Eriksen may have starred against Chelsea but that was without Kieran Trippier in the side, who has assumed many of the Danish international’s set-piece duties this season. If the right-back is back for this nice run then it would be hard to predict Eriksen to match his creativity levels from that win over Chelsea. Meanwhile, Alli has outperformed Eriksen for minutes per touch in the box, minutes per goal attempt in that area and minutes per shot on target this season.

Marko Arnautovic (£7.1m) has been declared fit for Gameweek 14 so he gets to stick around as the second-most important FPL forward.

So if Giroud plays full 90mins tonight, it would suggest Morata will start again at the weekend. Anyone else worried about how that will effect Hazard's output?

    Evening!

    Patricio, (Hamer)
    Alonso, Robertson, Doherty, AWB, (Digne)
    Hazard, Sterling, Sigurdsson, (Fraser, Stephens)
    Aguero, Arnautovic, Jimenez

1 Ft, 0.3 ITB. Plan is to WC GW15.

    A) Salah, Sigurdsson -> Sterling, Sane (-4)
    B) Salah -> Sterling/Sane
    C) Haz -> Sterling/Sane
    D) 1 week punt like Siggy to Felipe A?
    E) Other?

    What would you advise?

    Hello, got 1FT and 2.2ITB

    Ederson (Hamer)
    Alonso / TAA / Chilwell / Wan-Bis / Bennett
Sterling (c) / Hazard (vc) / Mane / Richarlison (Hojbjerg)
    Arnie (Mitro / Wilson)

Thinking of using 1FT in attack and then saving one in GW15 to bring in Laca for GW16.

Worth taking Mitro/Wilson out for Jimenez (or anyone up to 8.8m)?

    Or hold?

    Thanks

    A) Richarlison (Liv A)
    Or B) Yedlin (Whu H)?

    Thanks!

Lots of people seem to be wildcarding next week. I don't understand why. If you know you are going to pull the trigger why not do it this week instead? Because of the fixture swing is the response.

Just try comparing your wildcard team to your current team. I bet 9/10 times your wildcard team is better this week. So why wait?

If you have Aguero and hazard then there’s an argument that they’re worth holding this week but possibly not next week on wc? They take up a fair chunk of the budget so means a wc team could be quite different next gw

Possibly. I am looking at potentially owning Kun this week and switching to Kane for free next week.

The main reason for me is to get more information about Spurs assets. Their lineup this weekend will inform my decision whether or not to get Son/Alli/Eriksen, and same with Arsenal players and lineup. I'm hoping the lineups of the last two games and the one at the weekend (PL - CL - PL) will give an indication of rotation at Spurs and Arsenal.

Hazard will play at home to the worst defensive side in the league. There isn't even a debate for me.

    Fabianski (Boruc)

    Alonso - Robbo - Laporte - TAA - AWB

Salah - Hazard - Sane (Kenedy - Kayal)

    Aguero - Arnie (Kamara)

Is getting Sterling in really worth it for the 2m extra over Sane?

But kane and co hitting the form at the right time , means getting a week before everyone else.
He totally loves derby, and with full fledged Spurs team, he will be back in goals

Right. So you decide a team on how you feel about it, not how others feel it should be.

You are on a wc, you can do whatever you want to, follow whatever policy you want to.

Also I believe having 4 of the 5 mentioned is the way to go .

Don't plan transfer on your wildcard. I did in GW3 WC and left money ITB for Mane to Hazard and then Richarlison got a red card so I had to take a hit the week after my WC.

Literal worst case scenario. Haz could also be benched with the next 2 tougher games in mind and Sterling hauls against the team he loves playing the most, Sterling is currently my captain.

Kane has always been annoying to own for me, the fixtures look too good to be true & with Kane, that probably means he'll somehow dissappoint. Ever since the back end of last season, Kane has been a lot less explosive too. At this moment in time I'll be keeping Kun. Not interested in Auba whatsoever.

In same wagon. Aguero is still no 1 striker in the best team.

Also Eriksen's "injury" affecting Spurs attacking.

I am inclined to agree with your points, and i do expect in one or two games he will inevitably disappoint, but i find this fixture swing a little too tempting and the key players being back for Spurs. Aguero as said above is just becoming slightly annoying, plus i have Sterling and Hazard may change to Sane/Dilva anyway, so for me it’s a logical move i suppose.

Some certain moves there for Aguero to Kane, i reckon this will be followed suit by myself also, just becoming a bit tedious now now with Aguero’s lack of points when the mids are scoring the points.

Anyone going for sane is just chasing again. He is still a rotation risk especially after his performance during CL.. Dsilva is such a safe option yet no one wants him. Mahrez could be the ultimate differential if he gets a few starts which he should but a big big risk.. for me it is laporte sterling agurto Dsilva sane mahrez in that order.

What rubbish. Sane is proven to be explosive when he starts. He is great value. City score plenty every week. He is likely to start a lot. Back to back double figures. He is a good pick. He may fail over the next few weeks but he is still a good pick and a big differential.
