The Fantasy Football Scout Cup competitions are preparing to go into full swing ahead of a busy week of matches.

We’re here to bring you the latest from the public FFScout Cup and the FFScout Members Cup too.

At this point we’d like to issue a formal warning that, due to the disastrous nature of Gameweek 13, this article may not necessarily make for comfortable reading…

Public FFScout Cup

The trials and tribulations of Gameweek 13 wreaked havoc on Fantasy Football Scout staff and a handful of former winners in the opening round of the FFScout Cup.

No fewer than four ex-champions were dumped out of the competition at the first hurdle.

Scoutcast and Breakfast Club contributor J0e will perhaps feel the most upset as he missed out on the second round by just one point, defeated 32-31 by stripeless.

Wild Rover lost 50-33 to Christobisto, Leon Harris was seen off 49-47 by cobblers304 and 2EyedTurk suffered a 50-40 defeat at the hands of Harvard.

Meanwhile, editor DavidMunday815 and community manager Geoff also saw their terrible Gameweeks write off any chance of a cup-run. The former losing 53-35 to Tottispicks, the latter to Roger C by a 51-37 scoreline.

But it wasn’t all doom and gloom as our glorious leader Mark‘s 60 points was enough to see him fight another day in the cup.

Maverick Scoutcaster D1sable also triumphed over srini venkat with a score of 37-35.

Alongside him were five other former champions who sealed their passage to the second round.

A Manager Has No Name beat Alan the Llama 50-45, Ninja_Fit_Saints emerged victorious from a 45-37 match-up with Dugarry 21 and MCH slugged it out with Madeinireland to win 45-43.

donnellyc and Gribude complete the list of ex-champions in the next round as they saw off River Template (69-45) and MARTINB (43-37) respectively.

It was also good news for the two members of the world’s top 100 managers as both Sir Oux, ranked 15th, and High as a Keita won their cup ties.

The full list of results from the first round can be FOUND HERE.

The draw for the second round has now been made so CLICK HERE to find out who your next opponent is.

FFScout Members Cup

The long-awaited first round draw of the 2018/19 FFS Members Cup took place this week and we can reveal some of the stand-out fixtures that have been arranged.

Over 1,728 managers applied for the 512 places available in the first round draw, with the Gameweek 13 qualifying score is set at 45 (after hits) and an overall rank of 6,101 or better needed for those hitting that total exactly.

Goo was the lucky manager who scraped through the qualifying round in 512th place.

Such was the fallout from Gameweek 13 that just three former winners made it through the preliminary round.

Fuzzy Dunlop, currently ranked 51,354, faces a tough test against Blakouk who sits in 17,929 worldwide.

Malaikat Jihad, with an overall rank of 1,627,496, faces 40,942 ranked DavidG whjile rrcmc (33,959) must do bttle wirth shiregeriatrics (28,749).

Three managers in the world’s top 100 preparing for the first round include Sir Oux and High as a Keita, as well as 21st-place Ulrich Steinschweiger. They will face off against Iaoshi (28,400), Dele Alli Oxenfree! (433,860) and dkonis (22,480).

Which 3 strikers would you want on your WC if you were to WC between 15-17. I think the main options are:

A: Kun - main striker of the most attacking team, on pens, good baps..gametime risk over xmas period like all other city players but more or less gametime risk then say sterling?
B: Kane - nailed on over xmas (big advantage for reliable cpt pick), good fixtures, on pens, average stats. Can spurs mids cover kane?
C: Arnie - relatively nailed on, talisman of the team, on pens when noble not on pitch
D: Mitro - see Arnie, very good fixtures between g15-20
E: Lacazette - tricky price point but should be nailed on, on pens (i think), great cpt option for gw16

I am currently leaning on BCD (with kane, sterling, hazard as my big hitters) but leaving out Kun (bought at 11m) is a very tough decision.

I could go ABC with both Kun and Kane (with hazard as the other big hitter) but Mitro is very good value at 6.6m (compared to any mid at that price bar richarlison)

Alternatively, i could go CDE without kun and kane but that will mean i could have 4 big hitters (sterling, hazard, mane, lacazette)

    3. MTPockets

Think the first decision is Kane vs mids, as quite tough to afford Aguero + Kane. Not the best value but nailed.
If Kane then him + Arsenal + cheaper
If not then Aguero + Arsenal + cheaper, and Spurs mid(s)

    4. Kabayan
      • 9 Years

I think I'll go ABC until new year but might change to BCD

    5. Jealous Viper

Kane, Laca, Arnie for me on WC. Laca has great fixtures after the United game (maybe including the United game) and we saw what happened last time when Arsenal had decent fixtures. Kane should be the no. 1 pick. Going Arnie over mitro because Fulham still have some tough matches in that mix while Arnie has an sea of green. Once you have a decent bench, you can cover the occasional arnie rest

        Thanks all.

Vinagre a bit of a punt. But can't see anyone else up to 4.6m is rather have. He should play next month or so while jonny put.

        Why Steele?

Just need to decide captain now.....

1FT. 0.1 ITB. Which one seems like the best move here?
    A) Bennet > AWB
    B) Salah > Sterling
    C) Hazard > Sane

    Kepa
    Alonso, Robbo, Doherty, Bennet
    Salah, Hazard, Martial, Rich
    Aguero, Arnie

    Hamar, Billing, Kamara, Peltier

A is prudent. Maybe B if we are certain that Sterling will start (presser at 1.30). C, not this week.

Sit back and relax. Maybe AWB could be worth a start.

Congratulations to Ronnie Hotdog on your progress to the next round - with Mahrez as my only Man City player I don't think I'm much threat this week 😆
