There were nine Premier League manager press conferences held on Thursday ahead of the start of the 2019/20 campaign.

The headline team news came from Liverpool, where Jurgen Klopp provided fairly positive news on Sadio Mane (£11.5m) ahead of Friday’s encounter with Norwich City.

Klopp said:

Looks fit. Yesterday was his first session with the team. Yesterday now with the team first time, looks absolutely OK, in good spirits. Yes he’s an option, but we will see.

The Reds’ boss said of James Milner (£5.5m):

Millie trained yesterday with the team, 100%. He will be fine.

The Reds opponents have problems at centre-half, with stoppers Christoph Zimmermann and Timm Klose (£4.5m) sidelined for Gameweek 1.

Defensive midfielders Alex Tettey and Ibrahim Amadou (both £4.5m) are also unavailable for tomorrow’s encounter.

On the subject of newly promoted clubs, Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder revealed a clean bill of health at today’s presser.

Dean Smith only ruled out James Chester (£4.5m), meanwhile, as Villa prepare to take on Spurs.

Robbie Brady (£5.5m) looks set to miss out for Burnley against Southampton, whose manager Ralph Hasenhuttl didn’t disclose any injury concerns.

Gerard Deulofeu (£6.5m) was passed fit by Javi Gracia but Danny Welbeck (£6.0m) won’t be ready to feature against Brighton.

The Seagulls will be without Jose Izquierdo (£5.5m) and Yves Bissouma (£5.0m).

Mark Noble (£5.0m) hasn’t recovered from a dead leg in time to face Manchester City but Lukasz Fabianski (£5.0m) is fit to face the reigning champions.

We’ll have updates on Friday’s 11 press conferences in advance of the 19:00 BST deadline.

    A) Haller — 6.0 — Laporte (if not fit then Zinch+1.0)
    B) Wesley — Richarlison/BSilva — Zinchenko +0.5m

Would prefer if the 6.0 isn’t Trossard/Barkley, if you think A.

Rest of team in comment history, is pretty template.

Looking at this in isolation, both Wesley and Haller are punts with no previous. Im not saying they can be bad but for me getting tried and tested players in midfield and attack is important. Punt at the back is my philosophy. I prefer Bilva (see my comment below for my reasoning and him) but that is because Richalison is hit or miss, playing for a team thats scored very few goals in preseason and have been paying ridiculous amounts for bang average players that could eat his game time. So i would avoid them for now until they show us something. If you must have one I would have Haller. Only because West Ham are established. Villa could well be this seasons Fulham and just because they have spent lots means Jack sh1t. Wesley could be just another Andy Carroll. Promises lots delivers absolutely nowt.

    Ryan
    AWB VVD KWP
    Salah Bilva Sterling Pérez Neves

    Button Lund Rico

Also will Bilva outscore Martial? Reluctant to put Utd attack just now

      6 years, 11 months ago

Nope, I need to get all the players in their correct position

If it comes to a bunch of lbs, I pick whoever has the best attributes to be a CB or the best weaker foot for a rb or who is the actual best LB.

MF has to be the same and if it comes to it they can have the left footed players on the left hand side

strikers is the highest value on the left

Unusual but I like it, a lot of people think think wolves will struggle at the start cause tough fixtures and Europa league but I think they are match fit now and ahead of others fitness wise and will start the season well. It’s more around xmas and second half of the season they will struggle.

Is having anything above 17m sitting on your bench no more than a self imposed handicap?

At this stage of the season yes, without hesitation. Unless of course you have too many punts you need to cover.

I like it. You confident in BSilva as a pick then? Care to help out above? I’m considering him...

Im confident he was a big player for them last season and see no reason why he wont be this, especially with Sane injured. I also think he is Peps pet too. His price gives flexibility up or down and to be honest all the teams I made with Sterling in just didn't feel right. This lineup gave me 2 citee mids rather than sterling and a lump of Sh1t 5m dross.

Anyone going for Mane instead of Sterling for first 2? How likely he plays tomorrow?

I'll probably switch after first game, I think hes much better value and then can spend elsewhere

Hello there could I please get some feedback:
    Ederson
    KWP Roberston Shaw Emerson
    Salah KDB Martial
    Wood Kane Kean
    (button, Kelly, dedonker)
    0.0 tsb
Would you swap wood and upgrade a to 6.0 defender (Digne) or a 6.5 midfielder (Perez) or is Wood a better pick?
Is there anything alarmingly wrong here?
    Thank you for looking

i wouldn't start with kean as he not 100% to play i don't think
      perez>wood
      Emerson isn't nailed
      Kip isn't nailed long term

Thank you for your input there. Perez to Wood seems sensible. Was tempted to do Emerson to Vertongen How does the team look other than that?

    McGinn or Robinson?

McGinns fixtures are a lot better but Robinson OOP

Robinson playing up front is something to consider though and is playing Bournemouth in GW1 rather than Tottenham

I know very little about them but need a 5.5 and have gone for McGinn based on fixtures and am putting as first sub vs spurs with Rico in the first 11, then hes in gw 2 onwards
