Everton’s popular attacking assets have underwhelmed Fantasy Premier League managers so far this season.

After two matches, they have scored just once, only Crystal Palace finding the net fewer times than the Toffees at this stage.

Perhaps we should not be too surprised to see Marco Silva’s men struggle in front of goal at this stage.

During their pre-season campaign, they scored just three goals in seven matches, with Richarlison (£8.0m) the only key figure missing for most of it.

One was registered against Kenyan side Kariobangi Sharks, while Monaco and Mainz were the only other teams to concede against Everton.

The Toffees drew blanks in four of their summer friendlies, against FC Sion, Wigan Athletic, Sevilla and Werder Bremen.

Of those who found the back of the net, Joe Williams and Lewis Gibson are not first-team regulars, the former now a permanent Wigan player, while Seamus Coleman (£5.5m) is the only summer goal-scorer to have played in either Premier League match so far this season.

Accordingly, ahead of a Gameweek 3 trip to Aston Villa, Fantasy managers might be looking to move on their Everton attackers.

We have assessed the underlying statistics from their first two matches of the campaign to find out if the Toffees have simply been unlucky not to score more often, or if there are some tangible reasons for concern.

As this article uses data from the Fantasy Football Scout Members Area only those who have signed up for the 2019/20 season can access it in full.

Really don't understand why people would be surprised at this, TAA has left aches of space behind him in first 2 fixtures and klopp has already rotated TAA, albeit in the super cup final

      1. Make FPL Casual Again

Then again, given the fixture, maybe Klopp tells TAA just to sit deeper....?

I know he has to keep players fresh but Nuno's decisions to keep taking off Jota (and Jiminez at the weekend) when there is still a game to be won is rather interesting. Was disappointed by it vs United at the weekend as I'd expect them to push for a winner. Or is it paving the way for a Cutrone to play more later on?

I read an article and the comments (from fans) hypothesised that he would get 30 mins in the next game and a full home debut after that. Seemed plausible to me.

Against Villa he could easily score in 30 minutes to be fair.

What formation you going to play? 532?

Wickham is not going to get much game time and therefore points. Kante isn't going to pick up much and neither is Guendouzi IMO. Team could be better.

At least for me. If you can afford Perez to Martial then go for it, but Siggy should start performing soon.

      Barkley in the #10

Kovacic if Lampard opts for a more solid midfield 3.

CHO could shake things up. Is it possible he’d displace Pulisic into the ten role?

Anything worth a hit here? 0m itb. Really want Rashford and Pukki

    Heaton -- Pope
VVD TAA Digne Zincheko -- Rico
Sterling KDB Martial Perez -- Dendocker
    King Kane (c) -- Wickham

A: Gtg and hope that TAA / Digne / Perez play
    B: Perez >> Lanzini / Mount (-4)
C: something else? ideas on how to transition to rashford/pukki soon

I must say that, while I appreciate this very helpful article overall, I strongly disagree with the conclusion that "it seems quite sensible to be concerned about the attacking potential of their midfielders". Richarlison is clearly about to go ballistic. Sigurdsson should profit too.

The data surely points to a correction of attacking points yields.

I have Sigurdsson and regret not having Richarlison, as he's clearly more likely to score heavily tomorrow.

I'm being railroaded by a relentless ownership bandwagon into swapping Sigurdsson for Martial next week whatever the outcome tomorrow, though surely it's a correction and 20 attacking points to be shared between Sigurdsson and Richarlison tomorrow night.

      Dear Article Author,

      I must say that...

You were 100% correct, and I am full of nonsense!

I fully retract my criticism, submit my sincere apologies, and will in future always kneel at the altar of your analytical prowess.

      Everton are broken up front.

      £13 well spent.

      My own personal opinion fwiw:

Son is their best pacy forward, by a country mile. They have Arsenal next week. Son needs minutes. He’s physically fresh after the suspension.

Put all his together and I’d be astounded if he didn’t start tbh

Target practise vs Newcastle to warm up for the NLD imo

I’ve been wrong before though so take it with a pinch of salt! 🙂

Not a Spurs fan but I can tell you for free he getting a start imo. Their best attacker when on the pitch. Wait for pressers to get a hint from Poch before commiting.

Would it be a nightmare? He'll get minutes either way, 60 or 30. He'll then start vs Arsenal and from there on in until out of form/injury.

tried so many wildcard configurations and the only concrete conclusion ive come to is they all look better with a 4.5 mid.
this is because the 4.5 strikers are deadwood, and there is only 1 good 4m defender.

My wc team means one slot is the rotation of cantwell and lund, if you want 4 premiums and a liv defender then it seems you have to include one cheapy

You wouldn't want to play the 4,5 mid anyway. McGinn and Ceballos are much, much better than the under 6m forwards.

      Agreed mostly

I opted for flexibility in the end by getting Jota in up top alongside Kane Pukki. Waiting to see if a City defender looks nailed in a few weeks sub 6.5 or to get a 6.0 mid with a 4.5 defender from Dendoncker. That would leave McGinn rotating in and out with the 4.5. All the 6.0s look punty right now.

      I effectively delayed the decision.
