Captain Poll

Manchester City assets are expected to compete amongst each other for the Gameweek 4 captaincy in the coming days.

Pep Guardiola’s men host Brighton on Saturday afternoon, one of the most appealing fixtures for premium Fantasy assets.

The Seagulls have looked a little fragile at the back in their last two outings, against West Ham and Southampton, and conceded four times the last time they faced Manchester City, admittedly under a different manager.

However, the reigning champions are in scintillating attacking form, with Raheem Sterling (£12.2m) proving a reliable source of points in the first three Gameweeks.

In that time, he is joint-top in the race for the Premier League Golden Boot, his five strikes level with Norwich forward Teemu Pukki (£6.9m).

However, those in possession of Sergio Aguero (£12.0m) will almost certainly be considerin the forward after he finished as the top-scoring player from Manchester City’s recent win over Bournemouth.

The Argentinian played 90 minutes for the first time this season at the Vitality Stadium, which coincided with Gabriel Jesus (£9.5m) being ruled out with a hamstring problem.

That should keep the Brazilian out until after the international break, so Aguero’s route into the team against Brighton is unrivalled, and his chances of minute-management by Guardiola will be reduced too.

Also looking like a viable candidate is Kevin de Bruyne (£9.7m), who recorded his fourth assist of the campaign against Bournemouth.

While he is not quite as explosive as his colleagues further forward, the Belgian midfielder has a history of being a reliable source of points when he is a regular in the team.

Many of the other premium options face tougher tasks in Gameweek 4, although that’s not to suggest there won’t be attacking returns on offer.

Liverpool travel to Burnley this weekend, to face a Clarets defence that has got back to its best under Sean Dyche this season.

However, the Reds have scored an average of three goals per game in 2019/20, Mohamed Salah (£12.5m) involved in four of them so far.

Meanwhile, Sadio Mané (£11.5m) was the key man against Southampton, while Roberto Firmino (£9.5m) has been a constant threat for the Reds.

Meanwhile, Arsenal and Spurs go head-to-head in the north London derby on Sunday afternoon.

Following a blank against Newcastle, interest in Harry Kane (£11.1m) may be low, but he does have a good record against the Gunners.

Meanwhile, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (£11.0m) has attacking returns in each Gameweek so far this season.

Alternatively, Pukki might garner some support for Gameweek 4 after an excellent start to the season.

With five goals in three matches, a match-up with the West Ham defence could reap rewards for the Norwich man.

You can vote in our latest poll below, or in the sidebar of our website.

Also, Joe and David will be discussing the Gameweek 4 captaincy in a live video on our YouTube channel at 12:30pm on Tuesday lunch-time.

Darren Till finally moves up to Middleweight, good move. First fight, Kelvin Gastelum, oh dear. I fear for Till, could well be a third loss on the bounce, what a dreadful matchup for him

Oh Alexis, how the mighty have fallen. He was one of the Premier League's best just a few years ago. Unplayable at times, incredible work rate, passion and desire to win - but sometimes too selfish and stubborn. He was glorius for us and awful for United - you love to see it! 😉
It was also a pleasure owning and captaining him in FPL. Man got me my first (and quite possibly last) top 500 finish 3 seasons ago.
Forever grateful for his services but it's a bittersweet story really.

No sympathy for him, he went for the money and lost his motivation. Could have gone to city (on less money apparently funnily enough) which would have been the better move in my opinion but the move to united with the money they offered allowed him to relax and when alexis is not on 100% mode then he's a liability

Nah, far from that simple, he just wasnt the same player and lost that extra yard he used to have...Silly from MUN all the same to tie him down to that sort of money!

If I remember correctly Man City pulled out of race to sign him because the asking price was too high for 29yo who becomes free agent in a year and Sanchez wanted huge salary too. However, I completely agree with you!

That is a million dollar question. Richarlison is good ridance I guess, Everton seem to have no attacking threat. But Rashford vs KDB is harder to say this week. Both have good fixtures this week and coming up. So... it is a coin toss.

That said, I am probably taking a hit myself this week, against my own better judgement. I am doing Perez and Greenwood -> Cantwell and Haller. Otherwise I have to play Greenwood, and that will be a one pointer probably.

So if you feel like taking the hit, go with your guts

    Any other Sigurdsson owners around?
I vowed to give him time, to allow the new signings to come into the team etc.

I got rid last week and replaced with Martial, think he's a better option.

Similar here with Richarlison - difficult spot as fixtures still look good.

    WC thoughts?

    Heaton, Pickford

    TAA, Laporte, Soyuncu, Kelly, Lundstram,

De Bruyne, Sterling, Salah, McGinn, Cantwell,

    Pukki, Barnes, McGoldrick

Too much money in net. 4.5 rotators but you'll never want Pickford on the bench. Downgrade one and upgrade Kelly.

Any that you would recommend as best choice for downgrade?

Could go a lot of ways. If you did Heaton and 4m I think you can get Coleman/AWB/PVA or do Heaton & Pope to rotate or Pickford and 4m and get Boly.

Definately not mcgoldrick mate. Awful start to the season. If a maverick sufc pick then go Mcburnie 🙂

Not McGoldrick. Use the funds from Pickford ~> fodder to upgrade McGoldrick.

Another alternative is McGoldrick ~> Ayew or just downgrade McGoldrick to a €4.5m fodder.

Will Heaton be a good choice for main keeper though? Good for his price but points to be lost it seems

      Ok So I've done this

      Pickford -> Button

      Barnes -> Haller

      McGoldrick -> Ayew

From GW 5 Pope doesn't really need a rotator although if you wanted one Henderson looks a good option

Your defense is a tad week. Plug the saving into upgrading soyuncu or Kelly.

Apart from that looks great 🙂

Repost. Advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Heaton (Pope)
    TAA Robbo Digne Zouma
    Sterling Mane Perez Ceballos (Dendoncker)
    Kane Jota (Greenwood)

    A) Kane + Robbo > Aguero + Walker (-4)
    B) Kane + Perez > Haller + KDB (-4)

Very difficult one! Probably B for the long term. I think Aguero will still be subject to a lot of 60 minute games and Perez has got to go - 2019/20 troll of the season

My gut says Aguero is going to massive haul before I probably bring him in after GW4.

If you can free transfer him for Kane I would do it now.

With Cancelo getting his debut at the weekend, are Walker or Zinch minutes or starts at risk?

Laporte but he is 1.0 more than Zinchy so Im going to punt in the hope he keeps his place!

WHU got some nice fixtures, looking at Haller. I know he scored 2 last game but can anyone provide some eye test observation on him?
Lanzini also a good option but i think double up could be to much.

Which option would you prefer? 1ft and 0m

    Pope -- Heaton
Taa Digne Zincheko XXX -- Rico
Sterling Kdb Martial XXX -- Docker
    Kane XXX -- XXX

    A: Vvd + Mcginn + Pukki + Wickham (-4)................in a 442 with wickham bench
    B: Vvd + Perez + King + Wickham................... in a 442 with wickham bench
    C: Lundy + Perez + King + Pukki (-4)........................... in a 343 with Lundy bench.

B and C allow me to change Kane to Salah next gw with a hit.
Not sure how to get Salah with only 1 hit with option A

    Thoughts on this WC?

    Pope/Ryan
    TAA Zinchenko Lundstram Dunk Kelly
    Mount Martial KDB Sterling Mane
    Barnes Pukki Wickham

    0.1 ITB
Have had a horrific start so don't have the finances for some players, value below 100

Looks good! But I would have done Mane - Salah, and downgrade either Mount or Martial and get Cantwell. It will give you some flexibility. Salah will be a captain choice for many in GW5 against NEW. I used my WC last week and regret getting Mane instead of Salah. He will be back in the IB.

Based on the last 15 Premier League games, the bottom 3 would look like this:

    18th - Tottenham, 15 points
    19th - Brighton, 13 points
    20th - Watford, 13 points

Can’t believe I captained an 11m relegation candidate so glad I already got rid

If Martial is ruled out for 1/2 weeks would you

    a) Martial > Lanzini
    b) Martial > Mount (if fit)
    c) Play Greenwood and save transfer

      • 11 Years

C but start someone else probably (depending on who else you have) - 1/2 weeks is only one game.
