Captain Poll

Manchester City assets are expected to compete amongst each other for the Gameweek 4 captaincy in the coming days.

Pep Guardiola’s men host Brighton on Saturday afternoon, one of the most appealing fixtures for premium Fantasy assets.

The Seagulls have looked a little fragile at the back in their last two outings, against West Ham and Southampton, and conceded four times the last time they faced Manchester City, admittedly under a different manager.

However, the reigning champions are in scintillating attacking form, with Raheem Sterling (£12.2m) proving a reliable source of points in the first three Gameweeks.

In that time, he is joint-top in the race for the Premier League Golden Boot, his five strikes level with Norwich forward Teemu Pukki (£6.9m).

However, those in possession of Sergio Aguero (£12.0m) will almost certainly be considerin the forward after he finished as the top-scoring player from Manchester City’s recent win over Bournemouth.

The Argentinian played 90 minutes for the first time this season at the Vitality Stadium, which coincided with Gabriel Jesus (£9.5m) being ruled out with a hamstring problem.

That should keep the Brazilian out until after the international break, so Aguero’s route into the team against Brighton is unrivalled, and his chances of minute-management by Guardiola will be reduced too.

Also looking like a viable candidate is Kevin de Bruyne (£9.7m), who recorded his fourth assist of the campaign against Bournemouth.

While he is not quite as explosive as his colleagues further forward, the Belgian midfielder has a history of being a reliable source of points when he is a regular in the team.

Many of the other premium options face tougher tasks in Gameweek 4, although that’s not to suggest there won’t be attacking returns on offer.

Liverpool travel to Burnley this weekend, to face a Clarets defence that has got back to its best under Sean Dyche this season.

However, the Reds have scored an average of three goals per game in 2019/20, Mohamed Salah (£12.5m) involved in four of them so far.

Meanwhile, Sadio Mané (£11.5m) was the key man against Southampton, while Roberto Firmino (£9.5m) has been a constant threat for the Reds.

Meanwhile, Arsenal and Spurs go head-to-head in the north London derby on Sunday afternoon.

Following a blank against Newcastle, interest in Harry Kane (£11.1m) may be low, but he does have a good record against the Gunners.

Meanwhile, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (£11.0m) has attacking returns in each Gameweek so far this season.

Alternatively, Pukki might garner some support for Gameweek 4 after an excellent start to the season.

With five goals in three matches, a match-up with the West Ham defence could reap rewards for the Norwich man.

You can vote in our latest poll below, or in the sidebar of our website.

Also, Joe and David will be discussing the Gameweek 4 captaincy in a live video on our YouTube channel at 12:30pm on Tuesday lunch-time.

wow.. what the hell is happening with price fluctuations this season? This time those doing transfers early are getting a big advantage over players who are holding players.

Always like that early doors. Then the casual fireworks die down leaving the serious players to play it more patiently.

Swings & Roundabouts though. Once you've chucked out TAA to get AMN, Salah for Martial and lost Auba to get Pukki, it's hard to get the class back after the fireworks (using the term to refer to the footballers now!) have blown out.

I reckon Mount. Perez has one good fixture before man utd away and the spurs. Even if he does something in his "last chance" match, you still won't want him in next week

This is also a good point! I'm thinking that saving a transfer this week would let me get KDB for Perez by downgrading a defender the week after.

    For GW 4

I am thinking of playing freehit and trying this squad, any suggestions?

    Ryan / Button

    Zinchenko | Dunk | Lundstrum | Mina | Pieters
Salah | Sterling | Salah | De Bryune
    Pukki

Bench: Ayew | Dendockner | Greenwood

Unless your team is truly awful would try to hold free hit for later in the season
Otherwise would include Aguero for coming gw

It is, scoring just around 20 points for the past two GWs.

Instead of Dednocker I can get Cantwell or Mount and play 4-5-1

        Mina | Zinchenko | Pieters | Lundstram

        Salah | Sterling | Sane | DeBryune | Mount \ Cantwell

        Pukki

        How about that?

As noted above, we have similar teams, though I only have 2 MCI with Pope in goal. Tempted to downgrade a def to get KDB for Perez, but don't think it's worth a hit and I fancy 2 FT next week.

    Pope (McGovern)
    Digne, TAA, zouma (kelly, Montoya)
    Sterling, salah, martial, moura, perez
    Wilson, pukki (greenwood).

    2FTs, 0.0itb.

I have a number of players who are just about clinging on to their spots, and potentially an injury for martial. Holding until further news, but currently thinking of just doing Perez > Mount and rolling the FT into the international break.

Any other suggestions? If I did perez > cantwell i could do something interesting like zouma > mendy...

I'm looking at getting rid of moura Personally.

An option would be give Perez the Bournemouth fixture and do Moura > Cantwell/Mount.

Carry the other transfer over the ITB. It could be very useful.

Moura, Wilson and Zouma would be on the chopping board if this was my team. But it’s not. You have to consider Moura’s playing time, Wilson’s competition in the 6.5-7.5 bracket (or Wesley at 6.0) and Chelsea’s Arsenal-like defensive performances.

If Martial is out, chances are it’ll be 1 GW and he will skip international duty and be back fine. Don’t be too hasty with him.

Zouma to Mendy is a bad idea. Mendy is still not fit. Better off with Zinchenko or Otamendi if not just for the short term.

Yeah the mendy move - i was kind of just throwing that out there.
        Great point about martial.
Wilson has been a let down but he does still have 15 points to his name and decent fixtures ahead.
Worried about Moura, especially as my bench is non existent. Maybe moura > mount for now and use the double FT next week

Ditched Salah and double Pool def on wc last week to gamble on Son.

Since Spurs really look of the mark and I need to ditch el Mohamady, would you do

Salah, Mount and TAA for Mane, Son, El Mohamady?

Would leave me with 0.0 in the bank but kind off fells like chasing last weeks points...
