Joe is joined by David and Karam for the latest episode of the Scoutcast tonight.

You can watch it on our YouTube channel from 8pm BST to 9pm BST.

This episode overlaps with the return of European football to our screens.

Liverpool and Chelsea take on Napoli and Valencia respectively as the Champions League group stages get underway on Tuesday night.

We will have Scout Notes on those matches on Wednesday, but for now, there’s a brand new episode of the Scoutcast to occupy your attention.

On tonight’s agenda are the best cheap defenders now that the premium ones have frustrated their owners.

We’ll also discuss how best to cover Manchester City in the wake of their surprise defeat at Norwich.

Finally, we’ll debate how to recover from a poor start to the season as many managers have endured a tough few weeks.

Not really many replacements at his price other than cough cough Ceballos.

        MCginn or Tielemans best route.

Good stuff. It seemed a good bet with a sure thing in Lewandowski to replace him with armband tomorrow.

Much rather take a gamble on day 1 in such circumstances.

Most would’ve had Messi I imagine.

Got Haaland as cap as well.. Not sure if we should keep it on him or Lew tomorrow... ?

I think we need 1 more goal to be honest.

I fancy Lew to get 4. Most casuals will have capped Messi and will certainly be switching tomorrow night.

    Hi guys!

What are your thoughts on this wildcard team?

i tried to keep double city because of fixtures but also wanted Son. Only regret is not having Aubameyang. Also im punting on Aurier and if he doesn't play i atleast have some back up.

    Pope Button

    Aurier Pieters Soyuncu Lundstrum Diop

Son Sterling Mane De Bruyne Chong

    Haller Abraham Pukki

    0.0 itb

    thanks alot guys 🙂

      Interesting

Have something similar in mind without WC over next 2 weeks. Difference is no Sterling but a defence and cash for Vardy in week 9.

It’s a long time to next WC to have no defence - fairly certain you’ll be shifting money back. I’d have at least one 5.5 to avoid the triple transfer there

I'm not a doctor but he tried walking & running on it for a good few minutes after the tackle. Kept stopping to limp, touching the ankle area. Couldn't go on. Those few minutes trying to run on it probably didn't help.

Don't think it's serious but could be a week or so out. Just wait to presses.

I didn’t really want Mount. I was probably going to sell him this week... and then he goes and scores in the last minute v Wolves.

This forces my hand and means I can use my 2 FT.

I think one of the problems is that David talks 70%+ of the time and hes neither funny nor has the clout based on previous results to make me inclined to listen to what he says. So it just becomes a drone.
