Ashley Barnes (£6.6m) has now gone four consecutive matches without an attacking return.

With so many blanks in a row, his owners are likely looking at whether they should be offloading the Burnley forward ahead Gameweek 8.

That said, the Clarets do face another favourable fixture this weekend as Everton come to Turf Moor. The Toffees have conceded at least twice in each of their last five matches.

However, the complicating factor in assessing Barnes’ potential is the recent form of Chris Wood (£6.2m).

Since the former Brighton and Plymouth Argyle striker last found the net, Wood has scored three times.

Is that a trend that will continue in Gameweek 8? We’ve assessed some of the most recent matches to find out whether Barnes is worth holding or if his colleague Wood is hogging the spoils at Burnley.

As this article uses data from the Fantasy Football Scout Members Area, only those who have signed up for the 2019/20 season can access it in full.

Has Barnes been unfortunate not to score recently?

Lessons Learned from Gameweek 7

Anyone looking at Roberto at £4.4m at West Ham as GK cover for Fabianski? Cheap route into Hammers defence?

Avoid a West Ham defence without Fab. Their stats were horrible enough even when they kept the three clean sheets

So KDB could play this weekend but highly doubt it. Did struggle to create clear chances without him tonight. With that in mind... I was going to save FT but what do I do now? Montoya to Lund maybe? Or still save and hope Gwood/Soy can get me 2 points

KDB ➡️ Mahrez this week allows me to get rid of AWB & Barnes for Soyuncu & Vardy next week.

Mahrez did play the full 90 yesterday as well last weekend! A bit of an overhyped move in the last 1 hour which could easily be for nothing if he is benched this weekend and KDB returns for GW9

Tomori. With Rudiger out he is nailed, he has a good chance of keeping his spot when Rudiger is fit either by going 3 at the back or Christensen dropping out. I've only watched Tomori last two games but he could be a top class cb, still a little green but his pace gets him out of a lot of situations. Fixtures great too!

Yeah pretty sure I will as had from start, playing Cantwell in his place. If you haven't much money tied up in him, switching to Mahrez could be an option if B.Silva is out with a ban.

KDB will lose 0.2mn over now and intl break if pep says he isnt in team vs Wol and become 9.8mn. Plus you sell him for 9.7mn. Do think extra point is more valuable than 0.1mn if have no injuries in team

I'm not convinced there will be that big of a fire sale on him unless it's confirmed he will be out a while. I would probably bring in Mahrez if I was to transfer out, he's not guaranteed to start, and it would be his points vs Cantwell home to Villa. Plus would cost me a transfer, so in my situation I think it's worth keeping, banking the .1 (if he does drop that much) and ft or using ft elsewhere.

Don't think he stopped playing FPL! Just clearly does more back of house stuff regarding the FFS site now.

Maybe. Press conference will help sort this too I hope.

Wondering this myself. A Mahrez punt is tempting though, especially now with Bilva facing a ban.

I think it depends on 3 factors:
      1) What Pep says in the meantime or at the presser
      2) Do you have a good sub
      3) Potential value lost by selling him (do you need to do a -4 and would you lose a lot of value tied up in him by selling him now)

e.g. I bought him at 9.8 so no real loss if I sell him, and I've got McNeil as first sub at home to Everton so will only consider selling if KdB's confirmed out until beyond the international break

I just dont get this 0.2mn obsession. 4-5points is more imp than 0.2mn lost which is unlikely as he is will drop in value as well. As long as you have no injuries just get a 9.5mn punt or something

depends on a lot of things - price bought at, if you want to WC next week, if you have Cantwell/Lunny off the bench, if you want Son

If you've a decent 1st sub it's the best option imo

I am going Son if he is doubt still as Pep wont risk him with good backup in Gundongen. After Son scores in bha WAT will again get back for free when KDB faces AVL SOT

Think I'll wait to hear more but strongly considering a -4 to Mahrez if he is confirmed out. I bought at 9.9 so only losing out on 0.1mil

That's mad, guarantee Mahrez will even start and KDB will miss one game at the most. You will then be taking another hit to get him back

Don't see the reason in playing Jesus vs Everton otherwise, unless it's purely tactical (to target Everton and Wolves weaknesses) as Pep alluded to in an earlier presser.

Yeah apparently my head isn't working. Not sure what I was thinking.

No point sweating over it honestly. Aguero is first choice, would expect him to get most games.

      Not yet.

Probably needs a transfer in defence or action on Kdb. I'd sell Montoya if you can get a jazzy 4.6.
