Fantasy Premier League managers are faced with another tough captaincy decision as Gameweek 12 creeps up on us.

You can now vote in the latest poll (below or in the sidebar), while Joe and David have published a captaincy video on our YouTube channel.

With yet another Friday Night Deadline reducing the turnaround time this week, Manchester City and Liverpool options have largely been taken off the table for the captaincy.

That’s because the two title-hopefuls meet at Anfield on Sunday afternoon and such clashes can often be very off-putting to Fantasy managers.

The meeting of Liverpool and Manchester City could cause problems for the Gameweek 12 captaincy

Manchester City have had some defensive wobbles this season but remain joint-top for clean sheets in the Premier League thus far, level with Sheffield United on five.

Meanwhile, Liverpool are top of the league for points won at home in 2019/20, having won all five matches at Anfield thus far.

Something may have to give there, but predicting would be quite difficult.

Conversely, Liverpool are still yet to record a clean sheet in front of their own fans this season which could leave Manchester City with plenty of chances to break them down.

However, Raheem Sterling (£12.1m) and Kevin de Bruyne (£10.2m) have both blanked in two of their last five Premier League outings… so can they be trusted in a tough to call fixture?

These questions will be running through a few minds, but we expect most of the Fantasy community to look beyond Anfield this weekend.

Vardy has been in tremendous goal-scoring form of late

The ongoing scoring form of Jamie Vardy (£9.4m) is sure to attract plenty of attention.

He has 18 goals in the 20 Premier League matches since Brendan Rodgers took over at Leicester and has blanked just once since Gameweek 7.

This weekend he and his colleagues play host to an Arsenal side that is not exactly in a good place right now.

Amid rifts between the supporters, the manager and his chosen captain Granit Xhaka (£5.2m), now is a good time to face the Gunners.

Vardy himself loves playing Arsenal, scoring eight goals in his last eight league starts against them.

Abraham could be considered for the captaincy this weekend

Some Fantasy managers are turning to Chelsea for Gameweek 12 as they welcome Crystal Palace to Stamford Bridge.

Tammy Abraham (£7.9m) is likely to be the most captained Chelsea option after his 12-point score in Gameweek 11.

However, it will be interesting to see how many will be put off by his superior record away from home this season.

Abraham has 11 attacking returns so far this season but only two of them have been registered at Stamford Bridge.

That said, it must be said that the former Aston Villa loanee has been somewhat unfortunate in front of his own fans so far.

Raúl Jiménez (£7.2m) has also been tipped as an outside bet for the Gameweek 12 captaincy.

The Mexican international has four attacking returns in as many Premier League appearances, while Aston Villa come to Molineux having proved rather obliging at the back this season.

Lessons learned from Gameweek 11

Dont like this team structure. Id get someone cheap for Otamendi (like Rico)and upgrade Cantwell to someone like Grealish and Trossard.

Unless I get rid of Salah, sterling or kdb (which I don’t want to do), I’m finding it very tricking to get in Vardy. So do I shoehorn in via A, or make a simpler move to get Leicester attacking assets?

whos the best midfielders for 5.5 or less? Mainly as bench fodder but will probably appear due to the amount of benchings this season. Want someone who can actually get a decent return for the price

Probably best to go donk and save the cash, if you want bench cover it's better to rely on defenders

yea maybe, will be 4 at the back with rico, soy rotation I think so one of them will always be on the bench as well. Just want an entire palying decent bench for xmas period and to cover the pool blank in 18 (have 3 pool to cover in that week).
As long as I have a decent bench, xmas benchings and rotations will be no issue at all, so just want to get ready for that really.
So my bench will probably be something like Rico, Jorginho, Dendocker (might uprgade dendocker)

Happy days there then mate!!!! Funnily enough I looked at Ings and Grealish rotation last week, can get a realy good run of home fixtures from them for quite a few weeks and Ings on pens too!! Just fear Ings is too injury prone to commit tho it tho

not bad for a rotation tho, and good bench option for the coming periods. There will be much rotation, decent bench players needed imo. Not expensive enuf to cause xi selection issues, but good enuf that you are happy to play them, to cover pool blanks in 18 and xmas.

Djenepo for Saints is 5.2 and will be back this week. Scored 2 great goals before getting injured for us and the fixtures for Saints are turning.

I'm biased but I brought him in to largely be a bench option moving to 343 and I think he's a great shout, especially in the short to medium term.

Let's just say as a fan I really hope so! I'd be slightly surprised if he starts this week as he's still regaining fitness but moving forwards should be.

It's a slight risk as he's only started 1 game for us but he scored a blinder in that and did the same as a sub a couple weeks prior.

It's a bit of a punt but it's a 5th mid you will be sitting most weeks and the upside is definitely there.
