FFS Mini-Leagues & Community Competitions Gameweek 14

A swift turnaround and a swift round-up of the Fantasy Football Scout mini-leagues and community competitions. This article covers Gameweek 14 in Fantasy Premier League and the climax to Fantasy Eliteserien as the Norwegian football season drew to a close.

Head-to-Head Leagues

To mark the occasion Craig Johnson (aka Bouncebackability) defeated his second Norwegian in as many Gameweeks to open up an 8-point gap at the top of the FFS Head-to-Head leagues.

Craig followed up victory over Aleksander Våge Nilsen (aka Burky Boy) with a 55 to 45 triumph over Jørgen Skjånes. However Aleksander, with his country’s reputation for fantasy football excellence to uphold, duly bounced back with a narrow win over Phil Roper to move into second.

Defeats for olavi oja (aka ulafhai) and Owen Walker (aka Zan Scott Talent) see them drop one place to third and fourth respectively.

The Magician (aka TorresMagic) was the highest-scoring manager in League 1 with three 10-point hauls from De Bruyne, Son and Alexander-Arnold. He draws level on 24 points with Emerson Ciccarello after a 65 to 53 victory.

After 14 Gameweeks Ammar Mirza finally lost his 100% winning record. He suffered defeat at the hands of Rohit Mateti in League 8 Division 26, going down by 46 points to 61.

This means that Vladimir Stojiljkovic in League 8 Division 77 is the only manager out of the 5,983 who started the season in the Head-to-Head leagues to have won all of his matches. Many congratulations to him.

At 178th overall, David Hurley has the best rank of any participating manager. Despite doing so well he has lost three times in Division 70 of League 7 and is tied on 33 points with Brian Doyle. Although he’s comfortably ahead on rank-difference.

A fixtures table will be published shortly in the Scout’s Guide to Gameweek 15 ahead of the deadline. However, if you would like to find out who you are playing next before then, follow this link. Use your browser’s find in page function (Ctrl+F) to locate managers. All this information and more is contained in the main Head-to-Head page.

In the exclusive FPL Champions League, 2016/17 FPL winner Ben Crabtree’s lead is being chipped away at, although it’s still a fairly healthy 42 points. Ben drop slightly to 41,512 overall.

FFS Pro Pundit and 2014/15 FPL winner Simon March moves back into second following a mini-Wildcard to bring in Son, Lacazette, and Soyuncu.

After Greyhead’s recent look at the Pro Pundits, Sam Bonfield is still the highest-ranked manager of this select group. Although Tom Freeman is closing in: he is now only 18 points behind.

Tom and Simon March both scored 61 points in Gameweek 14 although both took a hit. The best net score was by Az with 60.

Elsewhere, World Chess Champion Magnus Carlsen slipped a couple of places to 39th overall after a captain fail with Salah.

Fantasy Eliteserien

Many congratulations to Thomas Wickstrøm for being crowned FFS Eliteserien mini-league champion!

Thomas won by an impressive 15 points and finished 12th overall, his highest rank of the season. Eirik Pedersen came second and 31st overall. Eirik finished with an excellent 75 points in the final Round thanks to double-figure hauls from three of his players.

In third was Svein Johansen, who led the mini-league for much of the season. Svein was top overall at the halfway stage but ended up 36th in the final standings. Congratulations to him on an excellent year.

There was a dramatic finale at the summit of Fantasy Eliteserien as Håvard Gustad – who had led for twelve of the last fourteen Gameweeks – was overtaken by Jens Garratt.

Jens trounced Håvard by 87 points to 43 in the last round of fixtures to claim the title of Fantasy Eliteserien Champion for 2019 by 33 points. Congratulations to him and heartfelt commiserations to Håvard.

TopMarx Fan of Fantasy Football and Monty Python. "Archimedes out to Socrates, Socrates back to Archimedes, Archimedes out to Heraclitus, he beats Hegel. Heraclitus a little flick, here he comes on the far post, Socrates is there, Socrates heads it in! Socrates has scored! The Greeks are going mad, the Greeks are going mad! Socrates scores, got a beautiful cross from Archimedes. The Germans are disputing it. Hegel is arguing that the reality is merely an a priori adjunct of non-naturalistic ethics, Kant via the categorical imperative is holding that ontologically it exists only in the imagination, and Marx is claiming it was offside.
