Captain Poll

Liverpool options dominate the captain poll once again as Blank Gameweek 28 rolls around.

You can now cast your vote below or on the sidebar of the website.

Fresh from scoring in the 3-2 win over West Ham, Mohamed Salah (£12.8m) has raced into another early lead, already earning the support of 44.6%.

Upcoming opponents Watford have let their guard down a little since the new-manager-bounce of Nigel Pearson wore off.

In their last four matches, the Hornets have conceded at least two goals on three occasions, while Liverpool and Salah are in the scoring mood.

The Egyptian has found the net four times since Gameweek 24, more than any of his colleagues.

However, Sadio Mané (£12.3m), who netted against West Ham and could have scored a double-figure haul were it not for VAR, is also in the armband discussion.

The Senegalese international has more away goals in the league than Salah this season and has registered back-to-back strikes since returning from injury in Gameweek 26.

That has earned Mané 12.1% backing in the captain poll, good enough for third place so far.

However, Jamie Vardy (£9.7m) is the man to take up second place so far, as Leicester prepare to face Norwich.

Admittedly, the centre-forward has now blanked in each of his last five matches, but his backers appear to be encouraged by the prospect of the Canaries’ defence.

Despite some recent improvements Daniel Farke’s men were brushed aside 3-0 by Wolves in Gameweek 27, suggesting they could be just as obliging against Leicester.

Interesting differentials at this point include Trent Alexander-Arnold (£7.7m), who still hasn’t blanked in a league match he started since Gameweek 13, while Harvey Barnes (£6.0m), despite his Gameweek 27 benching, could be the most likely to score for Leicester at Carrow Road.

Henderson to Mccarthy? That leaves me with enough £ to upgrade Lundstram and Traore to Stevens/Baldock and Barnes/Mount in the next GWs.

Need to manmark or possibly doubleteam Lewandowski at times to have even the smallest chance. Bayern are CL savvy whereas a lot of Chelsea team are learning their saviness. Giroud has CL experience, could be a game changer tonight but hard to see Chelsea go through after two legs.

2 and 3 are what I like to call "hyper-differentials" - players so lowly owned or unspoken of that a casual would laugh at you for having them in your team. Not to say they're bad players, but they are very punty.

McNeils haul at the weekend had no precedent. He had been 2's and 3's all the way prior to that. I see Mount as the exact same. About to break through again. But timing that haul is the key.

    Bottommed!

    Pope (Button)
    TAA / Robbo/ Stephens / Lascelles / Williams*
Salah / Martial / Hayden* (KDB / Grealish)
    Jimi / DCL (Auba)

    1.4ITB 2FT

Is Boly best option under 5mil?

If so Auba & Williams to Vardy & Boly, right? Means I'll start Vardy and Boly over Hayden and Williams. Can even get back Auba next week if I want to

      Pope
      Taa, Robertson, Rico, Lascales, Lundstram*
      Salah, Kdb*, Traore, Grealish*, Dendoker

Will keep Auba, Kdb, want to sell Lundsteam, Grealish(no value on him), and maybe Traore(not nailed and everyone have him)

      A. Grealish, Lundstram --- Boly, Barnes
      B. Grelish, Lundstram --- Boly, Mount
      C. Grealish, Traore --- Barnes, Mount (play Dendoker)

If Saka was listed as a defender he'd be more attractive tbh. Thing about him is you would probably want to play him every week with Arsenal's fixtures ahead.

Cantwell one of the only attacking options in a doomed Norwich team that like to play attacking football.

Saka is good but Arsenal have plenty of good attacking options that could eat his slice of the FPL points.

Kelly, Doucoure and Ings out for Long, H Barnes and Doherty for a -4?

Ings to Long is a downgrade/risk, but gives funds for a couple of good looking upgrades, plus Long has some good number atm...

Appreciate this sounds reactionary. When/are planning an exit route from Ings?
Not looked quite as good lately (basically since I bought)

I already have an exit route - I have exact cash to move him to Jimenez, and I'm also considering a WC in GW29.

When his form dips and there's a better option.

A'noon all. 1FT, 2.5 ITB. Currently have this:

      McCarthy (button)
      TTA - Fernandes - Kelly - Kiko O'Connell
      Salah - Maddison - Richa - Dendonk - KDB
      Ings - DCL - Aguero

      I'm thinking:
GW28 - Aguero & Richa to Vardy and Mane (-4)
      GW29 - Kelly to Saiss

      Thoughts?

      B) Rich
      C) Barnes
      D) Traore
      E) Others

Not sure on ny gw31 strategy so I wont take it into consideration at this stage.

Just did a analysis for a set of GW's I never had KDB or any City.

Just to note, these are GW's I owned no City at all.

So the GW's I was Cityless was from 12 up to 18 as follows. (I am also adding data of KDB's 'the rank killer' points for each GW as well as hits value)

In order of GW, points, hits value, rank and then KDB points

      12 - 82 - (-4) - 297k - 2
      13 - 88 - (-4) - 262k - 7
      14 - 55 - (-4) - 266k - 10
      15 - 62 - (0) - 237k - 3
      16 - 72 - (0) - 169k - 1
      17 - 65 - (0) - 155k - 19
      18 - 34 - (0) - 231k - 4

My massive rank drop GW18 was not because of having no City, more just a bad day at the office for my team.

At this point I am sitting at 102k having dropped from 66k.

Now I have shipped KDB again this week, obviously can always get him back by GW33. He has 2 blanks and 3 tricky fixtures in the next 5. So hopefully his replacment, Bruno Fernandes will keep on hauling.

It surely cannot be 'season ending' stuff going without City assets. Scaremongering is what makes one believe that.

        No player is essential IMO.
You can spread the funds by not owning KDB to other big players

I've owned KDB all season. I feel he'll be rested soon in league games. Pep can't win the title so he'll want his top players ready for CL. Think the likes of KDB and Aguero will be rotated in the next couple of weeks. The thing is who do I bring in for KDB when that happens? I've got my eye on pepe. Already have Salah, Martial, Maddison, Vardy, Ings, Jiminez up front

I'm keeping De Bruyne. The only seemingly nailed on City attacker. Had Zinchenko for a while but basically just KDB. For a very long spell TAA was my only Pool player. As Farmerfat says, no player is essential. It's how you balance the team. Topdogs in poor teams like Grealish and Ings can be gold. Bruno can potentially be United's top dog.

For GW28 who would you play

      Stephens (whm)
      Barnes (nor)

      Any ideas would be welcomed
