Fantasy Premier League managers face a tough choice over the season run-in regarding players they have trusted for returns for most of the campaign.

Well-owned and usually reliable players, like Raul Jimenez (£8.3m) at Wolves and Mohamed Salah (£12.6m) at Liverpool, are starting to look laboured in matches. Speaking of labour, Mrs Jimenez is due to give birth soon, which will give the Mexico striker’s owners further anxiety of starts, albeit for understandable reasons.

Joe is joined by Az and Andy to ponder what to do with ‘broken shields’ like Jimenez and Salah, who are no longer protecting FPL managers’ ranks as they have done previously.

Elsewhere, there is an array of low-owned and kindly priced ‘swords’ already helping to boost ranks. Young starlets such as Manchester United’s Mason Greenwood (£4.6m) and City’s Phil Foden (£5.4m) are attracting considerable interest from our trio.

Joe and Andy are considering the previously unthinkable and ditching the likes of Salah. Az has gone one step further, jettisoning the Liverpool midfielder already to stock up on assets from the Manchester clubs. This latest episode considers the ideal triple-ups from the red and blue halves of Manchester.

Spurs have an enticing fixture against whipping boys Bournemouth in Gameweek 34. What can possibly go wrong when transferring in and captaining Jose Mourinho’s troops in an easy-on-paper fixture? Our trio weighs up the merits of cherry-picking defences over the next few Gameweeks.

Az takes his turn to pick a differential. There are clean sheets over the season run-in to focus on and our Scoutcast trio reveal their transfer and captain plans.

Starting to think it’s potentially a bit crazy taking the armband off Bruno/a Utd player. Everything is pointing towards them scoring goals. They also have the most rest in between matches. I always look back and say I should have just never taken the armband off ‘X’ player, but just can’t help myself!

Which GW out of 35 & 36 would be better to use FH?

I think GW35 might be the go with City v BRI, LIV v BUR, Man U v SOU, LEI V BOU, WHU v NOR.

    Thoughts?

You need to write them in the correct order. City are away to Bright and Leic are away to Bou and Whu are away to Norwich

      so

Bri v City, Bou v Lei, Nor v Whu

I have Jimi up front and double Sheffield def (Henderson and Baldock). Already used the ft and I am currently 0.2 short of Jimi - > Vardy for GW 35. What do you reckon:

    A) play Jimi and double Sheffield def. Reassess in 35
    B) Lundstram-> Kiko or Taylor (-4). Which allows Jimi - > Vardy for free in 35 against Bou

Thanks! The only caveat is that the transfer is for a - 4. But it could be worth it as having Jimi against a double SHU def does not make a lot of sense.

Any advice is welcome on what to do with this (£1.4 itb, 1FT):

    GK: Pope, (McCarthy)
Def: VVD, TAA, Aurier, (Maguire, Siass)
Mid: KDB, Mahrez, Fernandes, Foden, (Saka)
    Fw: Auba, Jimenez, Rashford

Ant takers for Troy Deeney - 2 home fixtures in a row against Nor and New. 6.2m. They are struggling and will be fighting for their lives surely and Pearson would be the man to have at the helm in such a scenario?

Traore to Sterling for a -4 hit?

I don't usually like taking hits, but I have money sitting in the bank doing nothing and he must have a great shout to outscore him by 4 this week, let alone the next few (brighton/bournemouth)

Or the same move but for Foden or Mahrez? But seems like more rotation risk.
