The relaunch of Fantasy Premier League for 2020/21 will see the usual price swings for various players based on last season’s performances but will also feature positional reclassifications for a handful of them.

In this article, we’ll outline the case for a change of position for a number of Fantasy assets.

Ten players were reclassified at the beginning of last season, including Diogo Jota, Ayoze Perez and Matt Ritchie.

It’s fair to say that the alterations could be more seismic this summer, with a few premium assets potentially moving from midfielder to forward or vice-versa.

Before we begin, we should stress that this is purely guesswork on our part and is based on how FPL have gone about classifying players previously.

It could be, for example, that they have other ideas on how they will group ‘wide-midfielders’ next season – although, given the short turnaround, a complete overhaul of the game perhaps looks unlikely.

As a very rough guide, FPL have previously classified players using the following criteria:

DefendersCentre-backs, full-backs, wing-backs (eg in a 3-4-3/3-5-2)
MidfieldersCentral/defensive midfielders, number tens, wingers/wide-midfielders, players on either flank of a front three
ForwardsLone strikers, strikers who play in a two-man attack, the central striker in a three-man frontline

The classifications are typically based on what each player in question has done in the previous season.

Marcus Rashford and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, for example, had spent most of their time centrally in 2018/19, hence their listings as forwards at the start of the campaign just gone.

There is the occasional high-profile error (more of which below), of course, but these tend to be either academy products or fringe players from promoted clubs who were perhaps not given as much attention at the launch stage.

Arsenal players are becoming so nice acting wise 🙂
Has Arteta hired someone to train them ??

What has happened to Martinez ?? I don't see anything around him and landing was good enough too

        Better team
        Better dribblers
        Better everything

Not saying anything wrong about arsenal as a club here. Hate soft fouls given.

James from United also keeps diving i agree.

Never a pen, obvious foul against Christensen in the build up on the 2nd and two bogus ycs on Kovacic

Yeah, he had nothing to do with it

The second Arsenal goal was before the sending off... Chelsea only have their defending to blame (as well as the bad luck with Pulisic).

The only clear mistake was the 2nd yellow on Kovacic, which should've never been a booking.

Both ycs on kova, the only contact on the pen was outside the box, Martinez handball, and Christensen won the ball and was ran over allowing the second. Go look at any of those decisions and tell me they were right.

So Arsenal will qualify for the EL which isn't great news for their assets.

Wolves won't be taking part in EL which could be good for their assets.

Spurs however will now have to go through qualifiers beginning 17th September (midweek between GW1-2).

i heard a while ago they were wanting 45m+, and that Arsenal weren't prepared (or couldn't afford) to pay that much, could just be negotiating tactics, he definitely supplies some midfield guile, although can be fairly invisible in some games, i'd be happy if we signed him permanently

      I like their model.

The Premier League have strict home grown rules, so targeting young English talent, developing them, and selling them back to England is a great strategy. Playing attacking football boosts their goals/assist record too, inflating their price.

      Clever strategy.

Yeah, profit is important Sancho for ~100M profit,Haaland should go for ~100M too.

Not sure about Bellingham but 50M+ profit will not be bad.

Making cash very fast, should soon be able to keep players they want.

That's not exactly what you were talking about though, is it?

Lampard reaching three finals in two seasons is a huge positive - especially as we're in Year 1 of the three year plan at Chelsea.

Nobody expected us to even get Europe.

Seriously, did Martinez handle the ball outside the box?!?!?!

Wasn't clear and obvious I guess. Don't think BBC have showed a highlight yet...

Nope. That's the only issue, I have to guess the ref has been told it's fine! Seems important if he did handle it.

correct me if i'm wrong but feet can be outside the box as long as hands/ball not over the line

That is correct but the photo clearly shows hands, feet, ball the whole package was outside the box.

Different frame that they haven't shown.

Compare Martinez's arm positions in both - it's not from a different angle.

            ?

It's not. This frame is before the one the BBC showed. In the BBC one, he has both hands on the ball & in this, it's the moment beforehand where his left has got to it just before the right hand. He's guided the ball back into the box.

Check the positions of the arms in the two frames.

So what was everyone's best memory of the season just gone?

Was it the Pukki Party early doors?
Was it Jamie Vardy and the mad Leicester run just before Xmas
Was it Trents monster haul that week?

    Mine personally was this 🙂

Norwich turning over City early on. That wasn't a smash and grab some other teams pulled off - it was being the better team on the day with almost a whole defence missing.

      Probably getting early onto Vardy

Pukki was a joke. It was always obvious he would be this seasons mitrovic yet he gave dumb bandwagoners way more points that they deserved

credit to you sir for saying that, you started the best and i was worried, but once we got the penalty we were a lot stronger, you reorganised 2nd half, but once you had to chase the game then gaps opened up, losing Pulisic and Azpi definitely helped our cause - i have no doubt with your squad, the new signings you are making, and Frank as manager you will do well next season, we're behind you in the development curve and it wouldn't surprise me if you get the better of us next season, but fortunately for us we had our day today 🙂 best of luck for next season

Really not sure Aubamayang is staying after he said that on the BBC.

He needs to stay has got at least another 3 years in him

to be fair most players in that situation these days will say nothing so as not to weaken their negotiating position if they are staying - hopefully he signs and carries on what he has been doing, we don't have anyone else capable of getting the goals he does, if Ozil is out the door we should be able to afford Auba's new contract, fingers crossed!

The foul on the second goal should be a clear YC, Bellerin loses the ball and dives in with a terrible challenge, nowhere close to the ball

    Shambolic

Counterfeit match, you can’t rate anything with those calls. Half a dozen times they got fouls where we won ball with no contact. The injuries killed, but we could have defended a lead with a fair shake
