Harry Kane‘s (£10.5m) end to the 2019/20 season suggests he could be the key asset for those looking to tap into Spurs’ appealing fixtures this time around.

Jose Mourinho’s men sit second on the Season Ticker for attacking potential over the first six Gameweeks, based on their opponents.

During this period they host Everton, Newcastle and West Ham while they’re road trips take them to Southampton, Manchester United and Burnley.

Spurs players had not appeared in too many Fantasy Premier League drafts before Thursday’s fixture release, but now that we know the schedules, Mourinho’s charges have become more popular.

As Fantasy managers search for the best way to invest in Spurs’ attack, Son Heung-min (£9.0m) and Kane are the front-runners, currently sat in 18% and 14.5% of squads respectively.

Ahead of the new season, we have compared how these two attackers performed during Project Restart. As this uses Opta data, only those with a valid Fantasy Football Scout subscription can access it in full.

What were Son and Kane’s average positions?

    Ryan/McCarthy 4.0
    TAA Vinagre Ferguson x x
    Salah Auba Soucek x x
    Mitro 4.5 x

    A) VVD, Doherty, Son, 4.5M & Jimenez (442)
    B) VVD, 4.0D, Son, Armstrong & Werner (352)
    C) Doherty, 4.5D, Son, Armstrong & Werner (352)
    D) 4.5D, 4.5D, Mane, Armstrong & Werner (352)
    E) 4.5D, 4.0D, Son, Greenwood & Werner (352)

Money itb left for Son to Bruno (GW2) in all options except option D where I'll be doing Mane to Bruno in GW2.

With option E would need one of the 4.0m defenders to start for Greenwood in GW1.

    Thoughts?

Cheers! That was my first serious option when I built a draft but it means triple Wolves & Pool against City & Chelsea respectively in GW2. That bothers me a bit.

Wolves beat City twice last season. Liverpool's first serious test of the season and I'm sure they will try and keep it tight against all of Frank's new toys.

i like spending the Son money on a fwd. There are more options at 9ish bracket up front (Martial/Ings/Jimmy/Werner), whilst in midfield you've got Son & Pulisic (probably injured) thats about it.

Not really, could read through all the rules on the website, but it's not like they are red flagged, just not playing. Think KDB and Bruno could well rise in price if one of Salah or Auba blanks in GW1

KDB might just be alright with the tougher fixture but Bruno is far more risky given the sheer volumes of United fans that play the game.

Do you not think have over 10th of your budget on the pine in GW1 is sub-optimal.

That could be Jamie Vardy, for instance, away at WBA or Ziyech at Brighton. You could even keep £2.5m back and move to Fernandes from Ziyech. Better than playing some absolute duffer.

You'd think so at first glance, but it's a lot closer than you think.

If you consider every transfer to be worth 4 points (if not now then somewhere down the line) - your equation is Vardy/Ziyech/whoever for one week vs whoever you'd have played instead (Ferguson/4.5 def with a relatively favourable fixture most likely) + 4 points.

I'd say it's unlikely your one week punt outscores that in the long run - if you were playing with 10 instead then it's different, but you've likely got a reasonable alternative which swings it.

Yes they will rise if they get enough of a boost to their ownership.

I wouldn't worry, you'll be able to find the 0.1 somewhere, especially if you save in GW2 and do a mini-wildcard GW3.

Last season Sterling got 20 pts in GW1 and his price went up 0.1 by the start of GW2. But I don't think a player's price can go up if he hasn't actually played a game, so KDB etc should stay on the same price.

If Vinagre falls in the battle of the transfer window, I'm pondering:

    Ayling

Kane to miss 2 weeks of pre season through quarantine - not a massive deal but for a notoriously slow starter it won’t help him, thrives off game time.

      Greenwood & Bruno for me.
Half an eye on Martial in case Werner doesn’t work out. But like Timo as my Chelsea coverage - and I don’t have enough cash for 2x £9m+ FWDs, so Martial remains on the watchlist.

Sancho signing would put Martial above Greenwood and Rashford IMO due to rotation risk.

Agree. A marquis Utd signing changes everything for G’wood.
Don’t think Sancho is coming off though.
I’d be surprised if Utd didn’t bring someone in... at a massively inflated price, far later than they needed to!

Three schools of though it seems:
          1. Focus on GW1/2 and then early WC.
          2. Build a team for GW3, then retrofit some transfers to outwork the MAN lads
          3. Have 1 (or in ver few instances) 2 non-playing subs ready to come back into the starting XI GW2.

I’d say the split is 30-50-20 (on here)
Outside of this community... You’ll probably see a lot of people miss the fact there are blanks And do what you’ve done.

Either way - 6 is too many.
Maybe address option 2, and take your draft above and work transfers back.

    Hows this looking

    McCarthy
    Doherty TAA Aurier
    Salah Auba ASM Soucek
    Werner Ings DCL

    4.0 / Justin / Romeu / 4.0

DCL isn’t getting much airtime around these parts, but we know Ancelotti thinks of him at bedtime, and EVE’s fixtures look as good as any GW2-4, could be a nice diff.

      Plus, mint kit this season.

I am considering holding Salah beyond GW2 but is it worth it if he is going to be declining in price?

He's always a threat regardless of fixtures imo

His price won't affect how many points he'll score. I don't know why people are so scared of losing 0.1 here and there, a budget option or two will emerge elsewhere and you'll make it up. Also, his fixtures are absolutely fine.

Dier and Davies could be good options given the 5.0 price tag and limited other options with Rose out of favour and Vert leaving. I actually think Lloris is a great keeper option for 5.5m

Should be but Rose is back.
I’d go Egan over Davies to be careful. Egan is probably actually the better option anyway

I put a team together in a couple of minutes.

        McC
        Doh Aurier Taa Ward
        Salah Auba Soucek
        Mitro Antonio Werner*

        Greenwood* Lacelles

        0.5m Itb

Werner could be Vardy/Martial and GW could Ziyech

        Early WC as always

                No problem
Im happy to own Mitro for ARS/leeds/VILLA and Antonio for NEWC/ars/WOL
Soucek is best value out there I reckon in the 5-6m range I reckon after watching him a lot at the end of last season. He could be this seasons Cantwell.

Yeah, he justs needs to tap it sideways to Werner every time he gets the ball and he's guaranteed 20+ assists this season.

I currently have 3 spurs players (Kane, Son, Dier) with the outlook of moving one of either Son or Kane to a city or a united player around gw3-4.

Johnson could pinch his spot unless we sign someone. No idea why you’d want a west ham defender with our fixtures lol considering the alternatives

To be honest I just want to know who the best defensive option is for each team, just so for the sake of knowing. Is it Cresswell? 3 goals last season, and nailed, right?

Diop I’d say. Cresswell is awful and very overpriced. Diop has a fair enough attacking threat

Getting settled now on this 4-3-3 with Soucek as the 1st sub

    McCarthy 4
    TAA Bavies Viagra Saliva 4
    Salah Auba Greenwood Soucek 4.5
    Kane Jimmy Mitro

    Captains: Salah(1), Auba(2), KdB (3&4).

    Transfer rough plans:
    for wk2: save (yeah right...)
    for wk3: Auba --> KdB
    for wk4: Saliba --> Doherty/VVD funded by Kane --> Werner/Martial

Some interesting questions that I think will determine choices for a significant number of FPL squads:

    1) Will Martinez by Arsenal's No.1 GK?
    2) Is one of Saliba or Mari nailed as an Arsenal CB?
    3) Is Vinagre nailed as the Wolves LWB?
    4) When will Pereira return at RB for Leicester?
    5) Will Ferguson start and nail a place in the Palace defence?
    6) Is Armstrong nailed in Southampton's midfield?
    7) Will Pulisic be fit for the first GW?
    8) Will Brewster be playing at a PL club other than Liverpool?

      1. Most likely Leno is still first choice
      2. Wait and see in the Community Shield how they line up
      3. If they don't get a replacement LB, he will start the season. Wolves are actively looking for a LB according to the news
      4. October is when he is meant to be fit, however, will need more time to get match fitness, so potentially November time
      5. Don't know
      6. According to this article that Fulchester posted earlier, he is a steal - https://www.reddit.com/r/FantasyPL/comments/id8ici/a_focus_on_southamptons_key_5_assets/
      7. Don't know
      8. Most likely yes, many clubs are after him and it will be good for his development. We most likely will have a playing £4.5 forward in Brewster
