We at Fantasy Football Scout are delighted to announce that we’ve added yet another high-profile name to our all-star cast of contributors for the 2020/21 season.

And Fantasy Premier League managers don’t come much more illustrious than Fábio Borges, who currently sits atop our Career Hall of Fame.

You’ll need a pretty impressive season history to claim first place in those rankings and Fábio boasts an incredible track record of five successive finishes in the top 5,000 of FPL.

Two of those have been inside the top 1k, with his best-ever overall rank of 95th recorded in 2018/19.

Fábio has never finished outside the top 20,000 in six seasons of playing the game and, just to underscore his prowess, he was also the winner of Ragabolly’s inaugural Virtual FPL competition over the summer.

The Lisbon resident will be involved with Fantasy Football Scout in a Pro Pundit capacity and will be writing articles throughout the season.

Fábio follows site founder Mark Sutherns in joining our star-studded team of contributors, which includes some of the best FPL managers in the world.

The likes of Lateriser, Zophar and Tom Freeman, who have multiple top 1k finishes between them, have come aboard for another year and we are thrilled that they will be writing for us once again in 2020/21.

While there will be our usual offering of free content from these elite names, only Premium Members of Fantasy Football Scout will get unrestricted access to all of their analysis and team reveals.

Full-year subscriptions are available for the pre-season price of £17.50 until August 31, while rolling monthly Memberships can be purchased for £2.99.

    Bottomed

    Ryan
    TAA / Vinagre / KWP / Ayling / Ferguson
    Salah / Auba / Son / Soucek / Gordon
    Werner / Jimenez / Mitrovic

GK - McCarthy understandably popular with fixtures but prefer Ryan's occasional Pope-esque propensity for saves and bonus. Ings et al tend to dominate bonus at Splouthampton. Either way, its likely to be much of a muchness

Def - KWP to cover those Southampton fixtures. Undecided on fourth defender but currently punting on Ayling as this seasons potential Doherty 18/19

Mid - Spurs fixtures make me want one of either Kane or Son and Son's price plus striker alternatives give Sonny his place (for the time being). Soucek more or less likely to nick a goal in my mind despite tough fixtures. And his enabling price sees him inover Armstrong / ASM who lets not forget are still pretty punty themselves.

For - Werner due to ownership plus shiny jew toy factor. Also think he has potwntial to be captain material and exceptional value. Jimemez is Mr Reliable and fixtures GW3-8 are outstanding. Mitrovic ok fixtures plus talisman on pens.

    Final thoughts:
    1. there are 5 penalty takers in this team
    2. Son and Werner price points make Utd switches straightforward if neccessary
    3. Hoping to hold wildcard until GW8

Almost identical player value set up to my team, only difference is 4.5 def and Son to Doherty and Greenwood.

      Werner??

Personally I am not sold on starting with any new comer to the premiership especially when they are a premium pick. I would wait that one out.

A touch light at the back but you have plenty firepower in the team so anyones guess really how that one plays out.

      Armstrong:

      1. Better team, better manager and more goals in Southampton

      2. Fixtures

      3. Southampton ended the season stronger than Newcastle. Remains to be seen how good Newcastle can be without their partisan crowd cheering them on

Preseason games would be great to get some information about:

    A. Armstrong
    B. Adams
    C. Keita

I'm quite keen on Keita as he seem to make late runs in box when he plays ... From whatever I've seen.

        I hadnt contemplated Maddison.

Barnes seem to have accumulated a lot of points with his minutes played. He is a year older also. Plenty goals and assists from him last season.

As for Siggy?? I could never punt for him. Everton fan here..

      Neither because neither is nailed.

Madison will be mailed, but in my experience he's very straiy and you need to be patient

Vardy head and shoulders the best pick at Leicester. None of the others worth it imo

my entire draft depends on what I'm going to do with united / City assets.

Greenwood for example can easily be benched gw1 for soucek who has Newcastle at home.

Have seems some people looking to bench bruno even...

Its a bit of planning that avoids the scramble for united assets rho will rise in price dramatically.

Sure, not saying it's impossible to play it right but the odds are severely against you. It's the most valuable chip so I'd honestly take a bunch of hits than use it so soon when we have close to zero data to go off.

I'm looking to bring in solid assets who I can rely on....clearly not for 16 weeks....but unless I have a disaster I don't want to wildcard early.

Plus I'm not sure I've ever had a successful first wildcard...

Id rather see GW1 pan out. For example a Salah or Auba injury gets Bruno naturally into your side. Same maybe with Ings/Werner to Martial etc.

I think greenwood is gold if united don't sign sancho

Bruno I doubt keeps pace with last seasons scoring...

He doesn't have to. He is cheaper than Salah, Auba, Sterling and KdB.

Most who are getting one MU asset in will have the cheapest one, Greenwood. I expect that Bruno is the safest pick everyone will be targeting by selling Salah or Auba if either doesn't deliver gw1. So my guess is that Bruno will double rise first. Depends on results though, If Werner is on fire, people will keep him over Martial, but if he blanks that could be the most common swap. And one injury can change all predictions.

Don't get this fanfare over Willian. In his entire Chelsea career he was only a viable FPL asset since the lockdown and that was mainly thanks to his pens. He's gone to a weaker team and might not be on penalties. What's the appeal? I'd rather gamble on Pepe in those circumstances.

Nope, not really. He has just had his best season returns to date. Likely playing in the hole. Supplying Auba and Laca as opposed to Giroud and Tammy. Decent one week punt imo.

Breakout squad using only Liverpool, Man Utd, Chelsea, Arsenal, Wolves, Everton

    Lloris

Firmino's a trap, Werner is a better option at that price. Not sure why you'd bench Vinagre either. Also, Saka is unlikely to be starting consistently.

      1. diesel001
        • 9 Years

It's a break out squad. Players who have the potential to make a mockery of their price.

Firmino has the potential to score 180+ pts. If he goes on a hot streak (because he went on a poor streak last season).
Ziyech, Greenwood, Son all have the potential to get 20+ goal contributions
Martial has the potential to get 20+ goals this season
Saka has the No.7 shirt for Arsenal and could be a nailed starter
Vinagre, Gordon, Brewster could all make a first team mark this season (become starters)

I'd be willing to downgrade Robbo to Laporte and upgrade Saka to Foden.

Leicester's attack without pereira looked one dimensional post lock down. With chilwell possibly going as well, I'm not sure how the attack will function and vardy may just have to live on scraps. Chelsea had been creating chances and scoring some, in theory, a better finisher would score more goals. But with so many new players, a period of transition is reasonable. Leicester definitely have the better six week fixture run. Jimenez I feel is the best of fixtures and team. Werner the ownership pick, but maybe better one week late than two weeks early?
