We’ll again be combining Fantasy Football with a flutter in 2020/21 but this season we will be doing so in the company of our friends at bet365.

We are pleased to announce that bet365 will be our official sportsbook partner in the campaign to come, so expect to see regular articles covering the latest odds and special offers from the world’s favourite online sports betting company.

Each week we will be trying to harness our Fantasy know-how and the data in our Premium Members Area to pick out a few punts ahead of the upcoming action, to see if we can get one over on the bookies.

From baseball to trotting (us neither), bet365 offer a whole host of betting opportunities for those in the mood for a sensible flutter.

It’s good old association football that we’ll be focusing on in 2020/21, however, with the bread and butter of the Premier League our primary focus.

From first goalscorers to total corners, we’ll be seeing if we can pick out some value bets in the run-up to the weekend’s action.

We’ll be back with our first selection ahead of Gameweek 1 but, in the meantime, head on over to the bet365 site to check out the latest odds on the UEFA Nations League, the Premier League title race and anything else that takes your fancy.

For all the latest Premier League odds, visit bet365 and build your personalised football bet.

Good chance he will play as traore and jota not really regulars and 2 out of those 3 will start, and there's also a chance of them being played as wing backs too. RWB could be traore.

Wouldn't have touched arsenal defence the last two season's, I don't expect this year to be different. Tierney could be an exception later due to attacking potential but yeah well priced I'd say.

Wayyyy too much competition. You have Auba on the left and then 2 of Laca, Saka, Willian, Pepe, Mart, and Nketiah fight over the same positions. No thanks.

I don't think Ryan and Mcarthy have that many complementary fixtures. Go with 4.5 and 4.

      I know nothing about Smallbone...

I prefer number 2! No Auba is a nice differential.

Alli could be Ziyech (depends on fitness)

True, 3 is a lot but it would be for one gw punt. If Nketiah plays up front with Auba on the wings could be nice but will have to see what happens in pre season and laca. I wonder if Willian will take minutes from Saka too...

    Mccarthy, 4.0

Mane, Auba (c), Barnes, Jones(Liv), Gordon
    Ings Kane Werner

0.5 itb, plan to bring in Martial and Sterling for Auba and Ings. I can start Jones against bad teams as he may come on if Liverpool dominating weaker side to get cheeky points.

True, though FPL itself takes a slightly different stance. It's unfortunate timing that this seemingly increased partnership between FFS and gambling sites comes as FPL itself has tightened its wording around cash leagues, which most would say is a more benign form of gambling.

The reason for FPL to do it is that money leagues are not good for PL advertisers.

    Latest draft. Thoughts welcome!

    Ryan, Button,
    Robertson, TAA, Vinagre, Justin, Mitchell
    Salah, Aubameyang, Soucek, Greenwood, Stephens
    Kane, Mitrovic, Antonio

Plan to bring Wood in for Antonio week 2 and KDB in for Aubameyang week 3

    1. DrNelson
      • 6 Years
      6 years, 7 days ago

Great team! Maybe find a better option than Stephens, e.g. Gordon/(Jones - my rogue plan). Not sure I like the pencilled in sideways ish move for Wood. Very likely that you will want to put a fire elsewhere meaning you could end up taking a hit. Perhaps a safer longer term option than Antonio e.g. Ayew/Adams? any cash for DCL?

Thanks! DCL's someone else I've got one eye on. Would have the cash after GW3 with the 0.5 I save acquiring KDB. I quite like Wood as a set-and-forget option, being Burnley's main man up front, on pens etc.

  13. Conners

With Soucek a doubt for GW1, do you think Noble is a decent budget alternative? Other than Ritchie and perhaps Norwood, there isn't a great deal of choice in that bracket.

    1. nisag17
      • Fantasy Football Scout Member

I would rather go with a 4.5 or 5.0 defender if not Souchek.

    2. Conners
      • 7 Years
      6 years, 7 days ago

Defense already sorted, just need a budget mid. Can't really have two 4.5's as will need one to play regularly.

      1. ivantys
        • 6 Years
        6 years, 7 days ago

There's not really much difference between 4.5 and 5 midfielder, unless you're looking for a constant 2 pointer. Noble or rice should be decent but their fixtures are mostly rubbish after game 1 so you're most likely just getting 1-2 points every week from them.

Have settled on a mostly nailed starting XI for GW1 (baring the next week of updates that force me to tinker .... yet again).
    Most of you will hate this ;

    Jimenez, Robson-Kanu
    Mane (C), Ward-Prowse, Shelvey, Podence
    Alexander-Arnold, Van Dijk, Saiss, Maitland-Niles
    Johnstone

Meslier, Ayling, blank, blank (28.5mil sitting on the bench or in the bank GW1).
GW2 sees De Bruyne, Fernandes & Wood come into the starting XI (Meslier too if he looks nailed), for 1 transfer & 3mil ITB.
Another planned transfer plus 0.5 ITB to chase band wagons for GW3+.
Using the "rate my team" tool ; GW1 42 points, GW2+ 55+ points ..... streets ahead of my previous seasons.
Now to watch it all become unravelled !

A quick hopefully constructive comment on the gambling ads on the site. I saw one of the mods say they had discussed the amount and balance but to be honest I don’t mind how many articles there are promoting betting - I never read them or even the football related articles to tell the truth (which is probably why I’m such a bad player). What I really object to though is posters who are part of the same company (and at least sometimes part of the ad campaign itself) commenting in the forum itself how wonderful their betting company is and trying to have a discussion about it. This is very, very borderline in terms of the UK rules for transparency in advertising under the ASA (where I have worked) and, perhaps more importantly, really affects my enjoyment of the site, where I want to discuss fantasy football. It’s very intrusive and I think bad for the longterm brand and reputation of the site as well.

They will always anwser you something like this : If you don't like it, don't read it or scroll down the comment.
I completly agree with you but the sad truth is that they don't care if one or two guys stops visiting the site because of that. because there will be more of those who will bet and gamble on those promoted sites.
      It's all about money.

I know, but that can’t be a great outcome for an advertiser to have their people saying that in public. And comments in the forum are is still risking a breach of the ASA rules. Lots of sites do it but I’m genuinely surprised that a site with the profile, so closely connected to and indeed dependent on the Premier League and it’s official game, would chance it like this.

Are you talking about articles or comments posted in the forum? Genuinely intrigued by this....

Posted the forum as comments. I don’t mind articles, my eyes just glaze over and I ignore them.

Interesting and insightful comment GS, thanks.

Are you able to share an example?

Last night there was a poster extolling the virtues of football index like it was a magic money tree. He said he a player, but the number of comments and their positivity was concerning. More often someone who says they are representing the company and is there to answer questions. But even then the problem is they may declare their interest in the first post but not subsequently. Plus it’s just in the way. When I am at a proper computer I will try to find some specific links.

Cheers GS....yeah that’s neither in the spirit of FFS or perhaps code of conduct/ethics of a business...

I kept flagging his posts. Needs to be kicked from the site. He doesnt know what gambling laws are making it very very very dangerous for FFS

Matty Cash at 4.5 would have been in my team, at 5.0 I'm not so sure...

Taylor to some other 4.5m defender. Don't like Burnleys fixtures.

How do we expect chelsea to line up for GW1?
