    A Kdb to Son
    B Kdb, Watkins => Son, Ings (-4)
    C Kdb, Watkins => Gundo, Kane (-4)
D something involving getting Villa defender for Dier or Lei mid?

    McCarthy (Forster)
    Cancelo Stones Coufal (Mitchel, DIer)
    Bruno Salah KDB** Rash (Soucek)
    Watkins Antonio Bamford

Why get rid of Watkins? Villa looks great still after COVID and he seems to do better when Barkley in the team. Plus DGWs in the near future for Villa too.

I’d rather have a 2nd City DFer than Sterling. He’s been awful this season, and you’re basically picking him because he was good in the past, not because he’s looked like he’s good this season.

Having owned him twice already this season with nothing to show for it, I’d avoid personally and get in Cancelo or Dias when you have a transfer to spare

    Delete team?

    Martinez
    Cancelo, Coufal, Dallas, Mitchell, Holding
    Salah (c), Bruno, Grealish, Soucek
    Bamford

    Forster, Brewster, KDB*, Vardy*

KDB likely to become autopick and will bench Holding.

After doing Kane to Vardy for a hit last week, do I just do it back and get it over with?

Nothing to get down about - plenty of others have same situation with Vardy & KDB
On the bright side you have £20M to play with
Vardy to Kane or Antonio (I prefer Antonio)
Many options for KDB - Grealish or Son
I’m not keen on other Man C midfielders - too much rotation

Struggling to decide on which transfers I need to make. Does Chilwell+KDB to Stones and Gündogan look like decent moves for a hit?

Chilwell looking good for the run of fixtures Chelsea have

      1. TAT
        • 8 Years
        5 years, 5 months ago

Dropping Robbo instead of Chilwell is definitely something I'm considering too. It's just that Chelsea have been so bad every time I've watched them play recently. On the other hand, dropping Robbo instead would raise a significant amount of funds to do something else with.

      KDB to:
      - Grealish sounds good.
      - Sterling as he is likely to pick up the slack.
      - Foden/Gundogan and upgrade elsewhere

      1. TAT
        • 8 Years
        5 years, 5 months ago

Yes, this is the options I feel you'er left with when dropping KDB. It is possible to do KDB to Gündogan, and work towards getting a five man midfield with Grealish coming in for Anguissa.

How likely are the expected DGW26 fixtures? Is it still the best candidate now for BB? Planning this team with no hits:

    Martinez*, Johnstone

Form, price and pens, whats not to love? Of course there is risk involved but that's mitigated by 1) a tonne of players will have brought/will bring him in and 2) you'll have significantly upgraded elsewhere with the spare $

Someone in my mini league BBd the following:

      Meslier 0

Decent GW (109 no chips/no hits), but it sometimes feels like it's low when you see some of the monster scores on here.

My biggest regret this GW was agonising over Bamford > Antonio (-4) all week and then finally chickening out of it. But can't complain.

I took a 12 point hit, but that included the following moves:
      Dire > Stones
      Dallas > Dias
So it was totally worth it.

Finished on 103 before hit, and secured my 12th green arrow in a row. However still languishing down at the 1.5 million mark. I'm more of a casual these days, and it shows in my results.

Only 79 here 🙁 However I saved all my chips and didn't take any hits.

Rough; Salah(c), GW16 wildcard Mane double up failed miserably! Pieters not playing v Liverpool.

Smooth; Didn't waste TC on Salah, didn't take a hit to bring back KdB, didn't waste BB. Thought I got away with not having KdB I was bricking it when he got that early assist. DCL>Antonio was smooth, Coufal, Bruno, Kane all returning.

Dropped 120k to 493k but I'll take that I got away with one this week.

116 points, 9 from bench boost. No second fixture for my 3 Leeds and Meslier out a kick in the teeth after binning Martinez 50 points ago for him. Gutted with keeping Wood instead of getting Antonio, esp when Barnes took the peno. John Stones and Popey the shining lights.

Rough: 69 points net. Lowest score I've seen anywhere. No goals. 100k > haven't checked new rank.

Kane to Vardy for a hit continued to punish after the gamweek finished, with a hit now needed to remove him because of the KDB injury too. 13 points down on that one. How Vardy didn't return in that Southampton game is also beyond me.

Captained Salah for all 5 of his cursed games. Now 7 captain blanks in last 8.

Opted for Cancelo (knew the rotation risks but was a long-term move), but Stones 27 points is just obscene. Dias 18 too. Cancelo continues to dodge points at will.

      Antonio broke Soucek.

Smooth: I still have all chips in the hutch. Had an epiphany after the first City game that FPL is a game centered around luck and I should watch the games for enjoyment rather than sit in fear of James Justin ruining my afternoon. Once the deadline passes, you just gotta chill.

      Rashford benched
Son’s chip hitting the post vs SHU
      (C) KDB off at 59 now injured for plum fixtures
Ogbonna’s header off the post vs Burnley

Rough: Zouma being benched twice and not used, Johnstone missing one match and Cancelo being benched once didn’t help my Bench Boost - but Salah being benched once didn’t do any harm at all (except to those who captained him), because of his high EO.

      Ultra-smooth:
      • Captained Stones for 54 points – a very effective sword captain! Triple Captaining him would have been even better and would have added a further 21 points to my Gameweek total, but I never seriously considered that. I had been building up to a Bench Boost and I expected him to get at least one and probably two clean sheets with perhaps added bonus points and maybe even a goal, but he exceeded my expectations. I chose him as captain over my big hitters since Salah had just blanked three times in a row, Fernandes was on four yellow cards, Kane and Son only had one match, I didn’t own KDB or consider him to be worth a hit, and good defenders with form and fixtures in their favour often do quite well in Double Gameweeks.
      • Took an eight point hit to replace Calvert-Lewin (-), Podence (-) and James (1) with Antonio (18), Gundogan (also 18) and Cancelo (8) – an immediate gain of 35 points.
      • Scored 155 points and moved up over a million places to 689k. I was aiming for 140 points and hoped to get close to the top million, but again my expectations were exceeded. Shot up to fourth in the January to May League, but second placed Alex Pappas beat this with 162 despite a captain fail with Mo Salah - his bench of Areola, Maddison, Justin and Wan-Bissaka did however amass a total of 44 points!

But was my Bench Boost a success or a failure?
My bench scored a very acceptable 24 points - until Antonio was auto-subbed for Zouma, which reduced it to just 6. Triple Captaining Stones would have scored more than my Bench Boost as it turned out, but if I hadn’t been Bench Boosting then I probably wouldn’t have taken the hit to replace Calvert-Lewin, Podence and James with Antonio, Gundogan and Cancelo. The hit was a big success, and the Bench Boost could have been too if Zouma had played and Antonio had remained on my bench, so I have mixed feelings about whether playing the Bench Boost in GW19 rather than saving it for later was a good idea or not.

The rough: total waste of bench boost.. McCarthy (1) Bamford (2) Harrison (2) Dier (2) and James (1) all proving completely useless.

      The smooth: Son (5) Fernandes (8) Cavani (8) Robertson (8) Saka (9) Kane (9) Cresswell (10) Ederson (13) Gundogan (18) .... Captain John Stones (54)

A nice round 150, which is my best score ever.

Relieved to have got out of it with a small green arrow, especially having played no chip. Disappointed that I changed my mind to go with the "Salah is 'must have'" notion instead of my original plan to get Antonio.

89pts after a -4 for that Salah move (would have got 1 more with no moves). Just hovering inside the top 1mil is pretty 'meh', but that's the luck of the draw this season.

Draft had DCL, Bissouma and Mitchell -> Rodrigo, Gundogan, Stones with BB played.

Lack of Leeds double meant instead I went DCL, Son, KWP -> 4.3 Davis fodder, KDB, Cancelo.

41pts difference between my draft and what I actually did, 50k OR dropping to 90k. And now I have to ship KDB back out. So, rough.

That said, I still have wildcard, BB and TC at my disposal when others in mini league don’t.

So, disappointing week but one that can be recovered.

      Rough:

I benched Saka (9) (and Smith Rowe (6)) in favour of Bamford (2), Son (5), Tierney (6) and a host of DGWers who scored less: Cancelo (8), TAA (8), KDB (8), Fernandes (8) and Martial (4).

Unfortunately, I played my BB chip in GW1, which brought me only 6 points, rather than the 16 points it would have got me this week (without panning for it). And that GW1 BB also had Saka, but for 0 points instead of 9.

If my captain KDB played 0 minutes this DGW, I'd have got 8 more points, as Smith Rowe would have come off the bench, and Antonio would have had his points doubled to 36!

      Smooth:

John Sontes mega haul (27). 111 points total. Played no chips in the blank or double, but still risen by 820k in those 2 GWs, and 2.1m altogether in 6 GWs.

      28pts GW 18 with 7 players.

      Smooth

      Mane outscoring Salah.
      Target, Watkins

      Rough

      Rashford blanks
Vila blanking GW18 after GW 17 WC leaving me 7 for GW 18.
      Sterling GW 18 -1
Rashford injury when he was likely getting me a 2nd price rise
      Leeds vs Southampton cancellation..

They need someone like him to unlock WBA

Could easily play, yes. But I'd be worried personally.

Pep has so many options, and, you would have thought he might have given Foden a wee rest if he had him in mind as his replacement for KDB.

I have a feeling he'll be benched again - but just a hunch!

Foden clearly showed in the forward position he has the creative skills to do the KDB role with the added benefit of scoring most goals for city this season.

See Foden as a good hold but a risky buy this GW. More potential for a haul than Gündo though. Tempting so long as a free transfer and you've no fires to put out.

I hope not I just did Chilwell -> Dias with city likely to keep CS in next three

Nope. City fixtures arguably better, and their DF stats are demonstrably better

I'm on my WC, and my defence is:
      Stones / Dias / Chilwell / AWB / Shaw

I don't normally go so big in defence, but the rest of my team is strong as is my bench, and lots of factors point me towards defence right now.

Yeah i'd get Chilwell on a wc too. Not sure on 5 at the back though.

I'd love to know the reasoning behind so many people getting Stones ahead of his haul - was it mostly a price thing, or worry about Cancelo game time, or actual analysis of stats?

I brought him in purely because it had become clear that he'd nailed down a spot in the best DF in the league by a mile.
Certainly didn't bring him in for his 'goal threat' that's for bloody sure!

We got lucky, but it was an easy choice to bring him in really

I had Stones, Dias and Cancelo. First time with Stones this season. City's defence has been awesome since their Spurs loss, and thought they had a good chance of two clean sheets. And couldn't afford KDB. Pure luck Stones got the goals.

For me it was coz his position is quite nailed I thought, definitely more so than Cancelo and the price difference along with the good fixtures of course

      Was on wc

Main thing for me was Laporte and ake were injured making him a completely nailed 5m defender in by far the best defence in the league Who also gets in the box for set pieces

      Was a no brainer

Price. Originally I brought in Cancelo for his attacking returns for 5.6m, slightly cheaper than Dias at the time. Then I wanted to double up on MCI defense, so I brought in Stones for 4.9m. I just completed the Trio and brought in Dias a couple of days ago.

There was no prior indication of Stones's stats (other than he looked to be Pep's preferred pairing with Dias as CB) that he was going to haul. My expectation for Stones was for his cs, and maybe some bones on a top tier defense. He just seemed like great value
