Defenders and goalkeepers come under the spotlight as we assess the best players to bring in for Double Gameweek 26.

With some plum fixtures and plenty of in-form players on offer, we’ve picked out the top options for all Fantasy Premier League (FPL) budgets.

Is a Manchester City defensive double-up still viable? Are there better options than Emiliano Martinez (£5.3m) in goal? We assess all the options in the Premium Members article below.

Toying between these two - nervous going without Kane but I think DCL’s fixtures are excellent, would love to think he can get 45+ on TC

Expect two solid defenses to park the bus vs Spurs, a team that primarily feasts on counter attacks. I am not expecting much from Son or Kane tbh. Can see Kane getting a penalty, but anticipating two low-scoring matches.

Any thoughts on the best defender to get under 4.3M, needs to be someone playing in GW 29..

Between Lewis, Dunk, Tete or Veltman currently..

    Who scores higher:

    A) Bamford -> AVL whu CHE (no hit to get 11 players in GW29)

    B) Ings -> eve shu+mci BHA minus 4 points (i would have to take a hit to get 11 players in GW29)

Already taking a -4. Worth taking another for any of this for BB26

    A: Dallas >> Konsa/Dier (-4)
    B: Bamford >> Watkins (-4)

Currently 5 players for bgw29 with 3FT's till then. The above hit doesn't change that as i will only take a hit for someone playing in gw29 too

I suppose hits are more of a Long term transfer than trying to chase points in a game week, they might as well start the game week with -4 points under their name

I justify by looking long term. May be that the week you make it isn't a benefit, but as long as it pays off over a few weeks you're ok

Yeah, I use those points sometimes to reward myself with a hit. Dallas his 17 points were unexpected for example, could use four of those points for a hit.

    5. The Fantasy Doctor
      • 6 Years
      5 years, 3 days ago

I would justify hits on the basis of logic. I don’t normally take them but this week can justify a -8 as going to captain Kane (who is one of them) and I gain two extra DGW players who have good fixtures so feel I can justify it.

Hi Guys, appreciate a bit of advice here as not sure what to do.
I missed out on the WC and BB opportunity and not sure if worth wildcarding now or saving it.
    Martinez (Nyland)

    Lowton trent Stones Dias (mitchell)

Mo Bruno (c) Son Gundo (vc) (Burke)

    Bamford, ings (Antonio)

1 free transfer 2.7 ITB WC, TC & BB left

    issues:

    a) ings to kane for freeand play TC
    b) Wildcard now and get Kane, DCL, Digne, Leicester and a few cheapies to cover 29 and a differential or 2
    c) Anything worth hits?

  14. Nate(U)dog(ie)

    5 years, 3 days ago

I've just realised that by deciding to hold Raphinha and with the Maddison news and needing to change him, I'll actually only have one player with a double on my bench so I'm thinking a BB might not really be a huge benefit this week.

    Martinez Burn Cresswell Raphinha

Should I BB this or should I just hold and use TC instead?

    1. Mr. O'Connell
      • 13 Years
      5 years, 3 days ago

      I'd still BB that

    2. Rbyrne95
      • 9 Years
      5 years, 3 days ago

It's not the worst idea to BB. Martinez 'should' get at least 6 points; Burn 'should' get a clean sheet; Cresswell could score, likely 2 pointer though; and raph is in great form. Never know though, lowest return is 10 points. I personally would'nt

I guess it should matter where else you would use it and whether you need to get players in for GW 29

      1. Rbyrne95
        • 9 Years
        5 years, 3 days ago

        *cresswell could return

    3. Sterling Archer
      • 9 Years
      5 years, 3 days ago

theres not going to be another big DGW where u will be able to get a first 11 and a bench playing twice

      1. Nate(U)dog(ie)
        • 5 Years
        5 years, 3 days ago

Oh I know that's kind of why I'm stumped though as I only have one extra player playing 2 matches! I'm regarding Cresswell as 2 points at best and Martinez is playing 2 games so it's like I still only have 4 players playing 1 match in my head if that makes sense. Should I use it now with those players in those fixtures or ought I to keep it for a normal week where I might possibly have better fixtures?

About DCL and the three days recovery time between SOU and wba. What's your thoughts? For me he is the best captain tihs week but if he misses both last 15 minutes of both games, that's annoying because this is when Everton can exploit on the counter.

The sprint run DCL made against liverpool leading to the penalty is re-assuring and Everton is on the run for the UCL qualification so Ancelotti can't really afford to go without him and I see extra motivation for the toffees in those two games.

Sheffield are 14th in goals conceded so not sure I'd call them the worst team in the league (for FPL at least). And then a home game against Chelsea which you'd expect to be a tight game.

Doesn't look too appealing to me.

I can't decide between this and BB. This is realistically the last opportunity like this to TC Bruno (City and Spurs still have doubles later on), both games are away from home. Of course there are lots of other good options but Bruno has far and away been my most reliable captain this season. If I BB I only have one extra player playing twice, but that's still a benefit and I wont have that again this season.
