Manchester City and Spurs form the spine of our Double Gameweek 27 Scout Picks line-up.

Following David, Neale, Tom and Andy‘s Scout Squad submissions, we have chosen our final XI of best players for the latest Double Gameweek.

We line-up in a classic 3-4-3 formation which comes in at £81.3m, £1.7m under our budget of £83.0m.

GOALKEEPER

Ederson (£6.1m) makes an appearance in the Scout Picks as the most nailed-on starter for Manchester City in their two Double Gameweek 27 fixtures. He looks good value for two clean sheets against a Manchester United team who have scored one goal in seven matches against the big six, and Southampton, who have scored the second-lowest amount of goals in the league over the last six games (four).

DEFENDERS

The improving Trent Alexander-Arnold (£7.4m) takes up a spot in the Scout Picks XI, with the full-back showing signs of returning to last season’s form. Level with Marcos Alonso as the most persistent shooter among defenders in the last four games than the Liverpool right-back,. He also has created the second highest amount of chances of all defenders, so attacking returns are likely to follow.

The first of our Spurs triumvirate is Sergio Reguilon (£5.5m). Spurs face an impotent Crystal Palace side, with an expected goals (xG) rating of 1.76 over their last four games. With Reguilon carrying the most attacking threat of Spurs’ defenders, he gets the nod.

Ainsley Maitland-Niles (£4.6m) takes up the last spot in our backline. Sam Allardyce’s West Brom team are showing some signs of improvement, and are undefeated in their last three games with two clean sheets to show for it. They face a Newcastle side in utter disarray, and without three of their first choice attackers. Sam Allardyce also has a cracking record against one of his old sides, undefeated in his last six meetings with the Magpies.

MIDFIELDERS

Kevin De Bruyne‘s (£11.8m) return to action is too much for us to resist, especially with another Double Gameweek on offer. The Belgian has started each of the last three Premier League matches and appears to be slowly getting back to his imperious best. Across his last four matches, De Bruyne is top among Manchester City assets for key passes while only two of his colleagues have produced more shots than him during that time.

Son Heung-min (£9.5m) is our chosen Spurs midfielder for Double Gameweek 27. While Gareth Bale is the talk of the town, the South Korean is a much more assured route into Jose Mourinho’s attack considering the manager’s recent management of his minutes. Over the last four matches, no Spurs player has managed to play even half as many key passes as Son (13), whose total of five big chances created over the same period is the best in the Premier League.

Like Ederson, Ilkay Gundogan (£6.2m) finds his way into the Scout Picks XI as a nailed-on City starter likely to get attacking returns. Despite experiencing a brief dip in form, Gundogan has still got on the end of five big chances and had nine shots in the box in the last six Gameweeks and had a crucial rest agains Wolves on Tuesday evening.

The in-form Jesse Lingard (£6.0m) takes up the last midfield spot in the Scout Picks XI. The Manchester United loanee has hit the ground running for West Ham, only failing to return once in five games and bringing in two double-digit hauls during that time. Over their last four matches, only one Premier League player has managed more shots on target than Lingard.

FORWARDS

With other premium options around him crumbling, Harry Kane (£11.1m) still offers a reliable supply of points. No striker has had more attempts on goal than Kane in the last six Gameweeks, with the Spurs striker playing less of a creative role in recent outings. He also loves a goal against Palace, scoring in both of his last two games against the Eagles.

Ollie Watkins (£6.6m) retains his place in the Scout Picks XI for Villa’s game against Wolves. Patrick Bamford and Gabriel Jesus are the only forwards with more shots on goal in the last six Gameweeks than the former Brentford front-man. Watkins also faces a Wolves side who conceded four goals against City in their last game.

Our final Scout Pick is Michail Antonio (£6.5m) ahead of what looks to be a great fixture for the Hammers frontman. Antonio has been a key part in West Ham defying expectations this season, delivering some big hauls along the way. And he is showing no signs of slowing down, getting on the end of the second-most big chances of all forwards, as well as having the second highest amount of attempts on goal and shots in the box in the last six matches. The Hammers also face a leaky Leeds defence who have conceded the second-highest number of goals this season (44).

Substitutes

  • Fraser Forster (£4.0m)
  • Jannik Vestergaard (£4.7m)
  • Antonio Rüdiger (£4.6m)
  • Pedro Neto (£5.7m)

THE CAPTAIN

Who are the best captain options for FPL Gameweek 36+?

We choose the Scout Picks captain using a four-way vote between our Scout Squad pundits.

Because we use Fantasy Football Scout data so heavily in this process, the skipper we choose each Gameweek is known only to those with a valid Fantasy Football Scout subscription and revealed to the public only when the deadline has passed.

Here’s how we voted for Double Gameweek 27:

THE COMMUNITY CHAMPION

Each week, one of the Fantasy Football Scout community takes on the Scout Picks by pitting their chosen XI against ours.

The Community Member who beats our team by the largest margin will win a £100 Amazon Voucher and a place in our Moderators and Contributors League for the following season.

Boris Bodega takes on the Scout Picks in Double Gameweek 27 going with a 3-5-2 line-up of Ederson; Dias, Tierney, Coufal; Salah (vc), Aubameyang (c), Son, Jota, Soucek; Jesus, Antonio.

AA33 is the current leader, defeating the Scout Picks by a 53-point margin in Gameweek 2.

Is Lingard a genuine option or flavor of the week ?

Need to sell Barnes and as I have no FH has to be a 29 player was planning to get Raph.

So stick to Raph or switch to Lingard ?

      Definite flavour in my opinion.
Nobody will be bringing him in next week!

I went with Raphinha as my Barnes replacement,
however I have DCL & Richarlison so may bring in Antonio later down the line.

    McCarthy
    Stones - Coufal - Dias
    Gundo - Bruno - Salah - Raphinha
    Kane - DCL - Bamford

    (Pope) - Mee - Alioski - Barnes

I like A and C but both have UEL game time issues.
Maybe ur best move is getting a keeper for 29 pope to Martinez maybe

Im guessing you are not using FH in 29 with those transfer options

Captain choice is tough, which one to go for:

    A. Kdb (dont think he plays both)
    B. Gundo (template choice)
    C. Cancelo (Maverick choice - might not play both)
    D. Kane (best sgw option)

Greetings from a Yorkshireman in Canada you r/fantasypl nutcases. This week’s MINTY guide will be a bumper edition after we managed an overwhelming 40 viewers last week in the livestream on Twitch (let’s top it this week). I’ll be going through the best players with doubles, their caveats and plus points, then touching upon Harvey Barnes’ most fitting replacements. Be aware MCI and SOU assets both have blanks in 29.

As usual if you want to drop by the livestream you can find us here and it's happening right now, don't miss out:
    https://www.twitch.tv/spearmintspaff

Let’s kick things off then lads…

    MAN CITY MAN DEM

Silky Gun Doge Juan (Gundogan – 6.2m)
Fresh off a rest against the Portuguese outfit Wolves, he should get a start in both games here. He’s proved integral to Pep this season so a start against United looks a cert. Saints may struggle with his dynamism too. This man has scored 3 braces this season. 3.

    Twinkle Toes (Mahrez – 8.1m)
Arguably the most in form of the attacking bunch at the Etihad is the Algerian winger. His trickery could see him favoured for a start again the Saints with him a little more mobile than Big Phil and Bernard Silver.

Raheem The Dream (Sterling – 11.6m)
As a salty Sterling owner, I am still haunted by the ghost of his assist against Wolves. The Dream will be in dangerous scoring positions as always, but can he finish with the minutes he’s given? I certainly hope so… I would still go with the above two for value however if you have him I’d keep.

    Thibaut’s Cuck (De Bruyne – 11.8m)
Playing in a deeper role than usual, Gundo has been the one able to roam more and make Gerrard-esque runs into the box. KDB will surely be back on pens though and come on, it’s KDB? He will rarely be a bad option.

    Big Ed (Ederson – 6.1m)
A rare appearance in my recommendations for a premium keeper. What does premium keeper funds get you at the Etihad? Guaranteed minutes and thus cleanies which Man City have been churning out an astounding rate. Penalties? Don’t be silly…

Ruben Loftus Dias (Dias – 6.1m)
In my opinion, the most nailed on of the backline apart from Big Ed. Goal threat on top of (surely) assured minutes means he is a quality pick this week again.

    Little John (Stones – 5.2m)
Goal threat, easy on your budget and already a 20/21 FPL Meme for all the right reasons, John Stones makes it on my recommendations for this gameweek. There is potential for a little rest with The Port waiting in the wings. A very high possibility I would say.

    Cancelo Culture (Cancelo – 6.2m)
Making his case for the Gen Z Kolarov, Joao Cancelo is always a spicey, high end pick. Minutes are not guaranteed. Underlying stats and an OOP MCI DEF are.

    THE SORRY SAINTS

Super Danny Ings (Ings = 8.4m)
The predatory forward has struggled recently but remains the premium picks at Saints. Worth a cheeky punt if you’re looking for someone in this price range otherwise I’d look at investing in gameweek 29 players.

Jay Dub Pee (JWP – 5.9m)
With KWP hopefully back, JWP will likely slot back in to his midfield role and of course remain on his precious set pieces. I personally think he is a trap. But for every season there’s a Luka Milovojevic.

The Vest Guarder (Vestergaard – 4.7m)
How Jannik Vestergaard has not scored in the past 4 games is beyond me. The Dane has looked to be the most threatening defender on the eye test at least. Yes there are better underliers but surely one of these chances will be put away and who better to do it against than Sheffield United.

    The 4 Million Dollar Man/Playing Keeper (Forster – 4.0m)
Man mountain; Fraser Forster, will be hyped up to retain the no. 1 jersey at St. Mary’s. A clean sheet is possible against the blades whilst save points will be guaranteed versus runaway leaders and fellow doublers Man City.

    BARNES BOIS
Here are the best Harvey Barnes replacements in order of personal preference:

Silky Gun Doge Juan (Gundogan – 6.2m)
See above. Such a good pick I've included him twice, imagine that.

    Rapher (Raphinha – 5.4m)
Amazing stats and easy on the eye, Raphinha (always a chore for me to type…) is an easy pick up with him having a game in gameweek 29 too.

    Messi's Shinguard (Lingard – 6.0m)
A career revival done right, Messi Shinguard is shrewd pick at 6 mil. With no blank in 29 and a game this week against one of the most porous defences I have seen since Ian Holloway’s Blackpool, points could be had. PSA he will have a blank against his parent’s (United) after this so be wary your squad can take this.

    The Sooch (Soucek – 5.3m)
8, yes 8, goals this season and very cheap. Not a bad option but lacking a little form.

    Tiki Saka (Saka – 5.2m)
Talented, energetic, creative and threatening however the big issue is minutes. As Mr Grease looks to rotate his side, Saka could fall foul to rotation.

That’s all for this week’s bumper edition of my MINTY guide. Come drop by our stream if you have any questions, RMTs or simply want to hang out with our community which is live right this instance!: https://www.twitch.tv/spearmintspaff

Maybe see a few of you in there, good luck in your gameweeks and may the captaincy gods forever be in your favour.

Current rank: #231,715. Best finish: #18. Best of the rest: Mirror - #2, Sky - #25, UFPLM: #1.

Both play BGW29 so that isn't a concern. But whilst Grealish is not there would you not think Watkins is less likely to get points if AVL are less likely to score?

Looking for a stones replacement (non city)

Only to knock around until 31, and plays 29.

Tierney the option? Already triple Spurs.

    McCarthy > Forster for a -4?

Other keeper is Sanchez. I figure at worst it'll give me an extra .5 ITB
