The Bench Boost is the most popular chip among the top 10,000 Fantasy Premier League managers for Triple Gameweek 35.

11.2% of those in the upper echelons deployed the chip for the most recent round of matches with Manchester United facing three matches and a further eight sides playing twice.

The glut of matches means the average squad size in the top 10k for Triple Gameweek 35 stands at 25.97 players; if captains are counted twice.

As you can see, 95.9% of managers at this level have used their Bench Boosts this season with 4.2% waiting on the final three rounds before calling on their substitutes.

The Free Hit chip was used by just 4.9% of the top 10k. While that figure may feel somewhat low, 92.6% had already used it prior to Triple Gameweek 35 so the availability was relatively scarce.

2.5% of top-10k Free Hits remain, which we are likely to see deployed in Blank Gameweek 36.

Only 2.0% went for the Wildcard while 2.3% deployed the Triple Captain.

Unsurprisingly, 90.3% of the top 10k have now exhausted their chip supply for 2020/21.

9.0% have one left to play while only 0.6% can call on two chips between now and Gameweek 38.

Bruno Fernandes (£11.5m) ran away with the top-10k captaincy this week, unsurprising given the opportunity to play in three fixtures.

81.4% at this level handed him the armband for Triple Gameweek 35, creating a gap of 72 percentage points him and second-placed Mohamed Salah (£12.7m).

9.4% have captained the Egyptian, who faces Southampton and Manchester United between now and Blank Gameweek 36.

Mason Greenwood (£7.2m), Marcus Rashford (£9.6m) and Kelechi Iheanacho (£6.3m) are the top 10k’s extreme differential captains with the backing of 2.3%, 1.9% and 1.9% respectively.

This week’s captaincy statistics have helped Fernandes become the only player with over 100% effective ownership.

His figure for Triple Gameweek 35 stands at 172.1%, just shy of double that of the second-highest Iheancho (96.9%).

Salah, Harry Kane (£11.9m) and Trent Alexander-Arnold (£7.6m) complete the top five.

An above-normal interest in the Free Hit chip this week makes an examination of such squads in the top 10k worthwhile.

Crystal Palace’s pair of trips to Sheffield United and Southampton have helped Vicente Guaita (£4.8m) and Tyrick Mitchell (£3.8m) establish themselves in the Free Hit template at this level.

Wilfried Zaha (£7.2m) is also a popular figure in these squads, selected by 78.5%.

Harry Maguire (£5.5m), Fernandes and Greenwood are the top-three most popular Manchester United assets, each one sitting in at least 53.6% of top-10k Free-Hit squads.

So far, the Free-Hit forward line has made a mixed start to Triple Gameweek 35, Iheanacho netting and Jamie Vardy (£10.3m) assisting in Leicester’s defeat to Newcastle.

The Free Hit template has not impacted the overall picture of the top 10k too much.

Of the 15 most popular players at this level, 11 have more than one fixture in Triple Gameweek 35.

Kane and Son Heung-min (£9.6m) have clung onto 73.0% and 48.3% respective ownership at this level.

Punish is a weird term, it's a DGW and (it seems like) a lot of people used the FH, so of course you'd go with the players with more matches?

Depends if they have to change their team 10 minutes before kick off (and moreover is Evans back). Rogers was very open about the issues this caused them, they can work on a solution to not having Evans in the coming days.

CL final is way after gw36 - more likely to keep playing them to stay match fit IMO. BUT I'd for sure have a stronger 1 & 2 on the bench - never know with injuries and resting.

It's a bit early, but I'm wetting my pants with excitement to finally get to play my FH.

      Essentials for BGW36?

      I'm thinking:

Double Everton defence (Digne and Pickford)
      DCL
Kun & maybe one other City attacker (if we get a hint from Pep)
Double or maybe even triple Spurs attack
      Salah & TAA

      Any I've missed?

I really don’t understand the Aguero hype. Is he even nailed?

Re double/triple spurs attack, it might be a low scoring game against wolves. They won’t have a massive score like they did against Sheffield

No, but you'll never get to pick him in fpl ever again. Some things are more important than FPL points.

"...it's finished at Sunderland, Manchester United have done all they can...that Rooney goal was enough for the 3 points...
Manchester City are still alive here!... Balotelli....Aguerooooooooo!!!!

Haha!!! I’m afraid sentiments hold no value. It’s a cruel game.

I bought David Silva against Norwich for the last game of last season for similar reasons. He did bugger all and it cost me a few places in my ML!!

Cheers. Aguero has a good record against Newcastle but yeah, it is a risk, but my guess is that Pep will go full strength against Chelsea this week (i.e. no Kun, and a similar team to the CL), and then rotate against Newcastle (bringing Kun in).

With Spurs, I think Bale is a great pick on a FH, most will have Kane and I think it's FOMO and nailedness that's making me think of going with Son too instead of another rotation-risk City attacker (plus Boly might be out).

i'd want Salah and DCL next week before the other two (I think - DCL could become Antonio).
So Bruno & Vardy out - also gives you the most cash.
But really what about 3 out next week? (all but Digne)

Is there a site that tells you the average length of time you have held players in your team before selling them?

For example, if I found that I usually hold players for 8 GWs, then when I bring someone in, I should be expecting that based on my past behaviour, I will probably hold that player about 8 GWs. Would be really helpful to know.

Just worked it out the hard way in a spreadsheet.

Excluding FH, I have kept goalkeepers an average of 10.3 GWs, defenders 6.7 GWs, midfielders 6.0 GWs, and forwards 7.0 GWs before selling.

Sadly, I don't think I will get many responses next season if I start asking questions like "Who scores more over the next 7 gameweeks, DCL (bha, LEE, TOT, cry, SOU, mci, CHE) or Bamford (LIV, eve, MUN, ars, lei, AVL, NEW)?" But thinking about it that way could help avoid bringing in players for very short-term benefit.

Scroll down to 'Sortable Player & Team Tables' and tally the GW played and GW benched columns to get total GWs in team. You'd need to do the averages yourself. That's as close as it gets to what you're looking for afaik

NEW were great going forward but Lei were absolutely terrible at the back. Evans getting injured last minute ruined them - Fofana terrible on the ball, Castagne way out of position for a RCB, so mnay careless giveaways.

i expect MCI to do a much better job, wouldn't be surprised tfor New to score or not really - but totally expect MC to score.

A- Antonio(Brighton and WestBrom away, Southampton at home)

        Hi mate, how’s it going?

I was listening to the commentary earlier and Wilson may have picked up a knock. So do keep an eye on that.

Antonio is a high risk high reward player for me as you never know whether he is going to survive 90 mins let alone 3 games!

I would go for Wood to be honest despite the tricky Pool fixture.

What’s your current rank anyway? I was 170k going into the current GW. My team had 3 triple, 6 double and 1 single GW players and I have FH for next week. So hopefully I can break into top 100k, which is hardly an achievement but hey ho!!

Hello mate, not too and thankyou and yourself?? Ah cheers for mentioning that il keep and eye out, my Initial thought was Antonio, but like you say you Never know if he will last a couple of games, Wood is definitely in my thoughts mate!! I think he could get some vs Pool!! Ah your in good shape then mate!! 100k definitely on!! I think getting in the top 100k is good that’s always my target, Last week really hit me hard, I only got 23 points, had 5 players in the United vs Pool match so as you can imagine it was devastating and i had already had no shows from Azpilacueta and Holding, even more annoying is both of those teams got cleans sheet too, and my planned transfers last week were Bruno to Son and Bamford to DCL, but then the double gameweek was announced so I saved my transfer, would have been much better making the transfers o was going to make!! So this week I have 3 Triple games players and 8 with doubles for free, but I decided to do Holding to Shaw for a hit, so hopefully I can gain a few places back now from last week, went from 40k to 60k

60k is a decent rank and it sounds as though you are set for a monster haul this week.

Re Wilson, do check carefully whether he is actually injured as I don’t want you to rule him out purely based on my comments above.

            All the best mate!!

              TAA Shaw Azpilacueta
              Bruno Salah Jota Greenwood
              Watkins DCL Nacho
I will do mate, thankyou for you thoughts!!! Best of luck too mate!!

                Similar to my team

                Differences are

                Shaw, Azpilicueta, Greenwood, DCL

                Vs

                Maguire, Holding, Rashford, Kane

Looks like we should both score 100 plus points this week, which would be nice.

Anyway, I need to get some sleep now.

                Take care.

Bench too thin - Aguero could easily not play.
        Also triple Tot seems ambitious.
Digne needs to prove he's worth it for me - been promising a lot and delivered little. Would rather Coufal and spend the money elsewhere. Cresswell delivers more than Digne does even.
