The 2014/15 Fantasy Premier League (FPL) champion, Simon March, discusses his Gameweek 1 draft in our latest team reveal video on YouTube.

Simon chats to Joe about his 3-4-3 set-up for the opening weekend, including his slightly leftfield pick of a £5.0m goalkeeper when so many of us are plumping for a £4.5m option between the sticks.

Burnley’s defence is represented, while the former FPL winner has eschewed attacking full-back options in the form of Lucas Digne (£5.5m) and Luke Shaw (£5.5m) and opted for the steady drip-feed of points from Ruben Dias (£6.0m).

Leicester City’s fit-again Harvey Barnes (£7.0m) – who scored on Wednesday – also makes an appearance alongside some more ‘template’ midfielders.

Up top, Simon discusses his thoughts on Danny Ings‘ (£8.0m) move to Aston Villa and what it might mean for his initial Ollie Watkins (£7.5m) pick.

Ivan Toney (£6.5m) also makes an appearance in the three-man frontline.

You can watch Simon and Joe in the embedded video below, while you can see all previous YouTube team reveals via this link.

And if you missed it, you can read Simon’s first Pro Pundits column of the season below:

Brighton in talks with Odsonne Édouard. Not seen too much of him but has a decent record up north. Brighton seem like a team lacking a clinical striker, they create so many chances so a decent striker would be expected to get low double figures at least I reckon

Could be another 6.5. As much as I want to hang on until gw7 to wildcard, everything is pointing towards an earlier one

Yeeah, they desperately need someone clinical up top for them, I think it's what is really holding them back as a team.

He's a decent striker - Villa were trying to sign him last season, and I believe Leicester were linked with him too.

I would say Stones, providing you have the bench cover for when he is rotated out. His PPG should be high this season.

Am I right that Nathan Tella is a 5.0 midfielder, in 0.2% of teams, and currently one of Southampton's first choice front two?

I'm one of the 0.2%. Saints are looking to get a guy from Blackburn, but Tella could start the first couple and be a regular substitute. Mind you, he's my first sub and unlikely to bring me the points. But I think he's worth the 0.5 upgrade on your 4.5 bechie midf.

Have a butchers, tell me what you think....

    Schmeichel
    Tierney Lowton Wan B
    Ziyech Salah Fernandes Buendia Benramha
    DCL Toney

    Bench: Bamford, White, Goode, Sanchez

Couldn't find any decent 4.0 defence fodder so I picked Goode, no reason just a Goode name :o)

Can't say that when he was the top scorer last season. What swings it for me is with Salah you'd hardly ever need Bruno as captain. The few occasions you want an alternative, Son fits the bill.

    Sanchez (Steele)
    TAA, Shaw, Digne (White, Manquillo)
    Salah, Bruno, Barnes, Raphinha (Gilmour)
    DCL, Watkins, Toney

Thoughts? Kinda unsure about Watkins after the Ings deal. Maybe I'll go Buendia/Antonio over Raph/Watkins. Or Buendia/Ings instead of Barnes/Watkins. But an Aston Villa double dip?

Hoping to WC pre gw8, his run of fixtures are superb up until then. He’s a flat track bully. Easy switch to Bamford/Jimenez if it doesn’t work out. Doubts around ings/Watkins/nacho/cavani. Also DCL + Bruno > Kane + Greenwood May be on the cards around gw3/4

The amazing mid-price forward options are becoming less amazing over time.

Iheanacho less nailed with a fit squad and Daka coming in (he's in my team still)

Watkins less nailed and position unclear with Ings coming in and likely taking pens

Cavani seemingly still not in training

If anybody wanted him, I'd choose to sell Auba over Laca. Laca gelled well with the youth around him last season. Generally, one of the most clinical strikers in the league, since he knows when to pass instead of fire into the stands. And Auba would have a higher price with 2 years left instead of one, and on highest wages. Of course, it's hard to put a price on losing your captain, but they both have to go at some point. 1-year extension for Laca wouldn't be a shame, but I know I sound like a fickle fan.

Laca has the hold-up play required for runners. Actually, he's Arsenal's version of Harry Kane! I said it! While Auba has more overlap with Martinelli and Pepe. Balogun can replace Laca long-term, but Auba is the more replaceable of the two with the current squad at this current moment.

Not going to happen, but would be the ideal imo.

    RMT? Schmeichel - (Begovic)
    Robertson - Digne - Castagne - (Regulion) - (Livramento)
    Salah - Son - Barnes - Buendia - Bowen
    DCL - Ings - (Obafemi)
    - 1.0 ITB
    - Buendia will become Raphinha/Harrison in GW3/GW5 after I eye-test them.
    - Bowen holds rotational slot (Zaha in GW2). I might downgrade this to 4.5 later on and buy additional attacker.
    - Wildcard in GW11.

        Rodgers before QPR game:

“This is going to be a year of adaption for them. They're going to be important players for us, of course, and make a really good contribution, but I'm relaxed on their development this coming season.”

        Rodgers after QPR game:

With players coming into the Premier League you have to give them time, but certainly one thing we know with him is that he has that great pace.

He's obviously not going to promise to play or not play players, but I think there's reason to believe Daka will 'contribute' in bits until he's proven something or there are injuries to others. More of a Vardy replacement, given his running and finishing, so I think he fits more with Nacho than Vardy, then you need some non-strikers in your team too! 😀

His PPG is in the top ten for midfielders. If he comes on for last 20 in first game then starts most games after that then he’s a great pick. Should be on for 150 this season

He's had a few runs in preseason so it looks like he'll he'll fit to start the season, and before his injury last season he was in top form IIRC, at least in preseason Rodgers has altered Leicester's formation and possibly changed the role of Iheanacho to fit him back into the side which says a lot about how important he will likely be all season

Playing 4 at the back but yeah I'm rotating him with Veltman.

Thought Sanchez was injured and lad just doesn't make saves

He played on after a knock and came off at hlaf time with a number of other pre-planned subs.

Still not sure about him as an option. Doesn't make the heaps of saves needed to accrue the bonus points. Feels like he will get quite a few 6 and 2 pointers.

Think the value may be at 5.0 with the likes of Pickford, Henderson and Meslier who should have a better combination of save potential, bonus points and clean sheets.

Any Saints fans in here? Trying to gauge an option on Tella. Scout currently has him playing upfront in their predicted 11's. What are the chances of him getting game time this season? Anyone know?

      Yes.
He should start against Everton, going forward will depend on signings.

There are Adams, Obafemi, Walcott and Tella there currently that can play up top and the rumours of Armstrong interest. I had Tella in my first draft thinking he'd get a few runs with Ings injuries but if they bring in someone that is less injury-prone and with the other options they have there I think I'd rather pick a 5.0 I'd be more confident will play regularly

Oba is a bit down the order.
        Tella is ahead of Walcott.

Armstrong looks like he may be going to Palace and prove too expensive for Saints.

For the record, I would rank our attacking options in the following order, based on pre-season/existing history.

Armstrong, Adams, Tella*, Djenepo, Redmond*, Elyounoussi, Walcott*, Obafemi

        * can play as a 9 & a 10.

    TAA, Shaw, Digne, Veltman, Ayling

    Salah, Son, Mahrez, Raphinia, Barnes

    Antonio, Toney, Obafemi

    Not sold on Bruno...

Does Joe not realise that Aston Villa are a big club!
Why did he sound so surprised that Ings went there instead.
Must not like Villa or pay them much attention as he didn’t even know where Villa got Bailey from! Awks!

It's probably just because Ings seemed clear he wanted CL football if he was to leave Soton

Did Pep also concede that they would've negotiated for Messi had they not signed Grealish a day earlier?

Even on a free he's too expensive for City and PSG. Poor chap's gonna have to sign on the dole.

I think I´m getting there, probably more spanners yet to be thrown though!

    Sanchez (Foster)

    TAA, Robbo, Shaw, Digne (White)

    Salah, Bruno, Barns, Buendia (Brownhill)

    Ings, Toney, Obafemi

Still a weeks worth of spanners to be thrown!

Looks strong, I like the double pool defenders, been to-ing and fro-ing with that myself but decided on Jota over Robbo.

Biggest concern here is your bench, don't know much about Obafemi but I wouldn't be starting a 4.5m striker myself.
