Scout Picks

FPL Gameweek 7 Scout Picks built on Chelsea triple-up

There’s not a Liverpool or Manchester City player in sight in our Fantasy Premier League (FPL) Scout Picks for Gameweek 7.

A Chelsea triple-up instead forms the spine of the side this week, with eight other teams represented in the remaining spots.

After Sam, Az, Neale and Tom submitted their Scout Squad selections earlier this week, we have chosen our best players ahead of tomorrow’s 11:00 BST deadline.

We line up in a 3-4-3 formation and come in at £81.9m, well under our £83.0m budget.

GOALKEEPER

The best goalkeepers for UEFA Champions League Fantasy

With 17 clean sheets in 25 Premier League matches since the arrival of Thomas Tuchel in January, Edouard Mendy (£6.0m) is the first of two Chelsea backline options in this week’s Scout Picks. The Blues’ stopper has kept three clean sheets in five games so far this season, and is the fourth-highest scoring goalkeeper in FPL despite missing a week. His numbers are impressive, too, given that his 3.45 saves per 90 minutes ranks fifth – only behind Karl Darlow (£4.5m), Illan Meslier (£5.0m), Ben Foster (£4.0m) and Hugo Lloris (£5.6m) – while his 5.5 minutes-per-baseline-bonus (BBPS) is also encouraging, and suggests that he could be in the mix when Chelsea do keep a clean sheet. Against a Southampton side that is goalless in three matches, Mendy’s inclusion makes a lot of sense.

        My brain just says Trent and Antonio needed, I guess that's not much help

          I was going to say the same - TAA and Antonio are scary not to own - the others I wouldn't be that worried about.

          Haha exactly. I brought him in for Barnes a few gameweeks ago as at the time I didn't know who else to go for and thought to go early on Chelsea but he's been disappointing to say the least.

          I did however get him in for these fixtures in mind so I'm also questioning should I actually be looking to sell him

            Yeah I get it! I had Barnes for 4 weeks, thought he'd tear it up!

            Im on 459 now, flying start. Went triple chelsea for the next month as fixtures insane.

                Hmmmm not sure! I wanted him at the start prior to Lukaku signing, but they rotate those guys so much, could easily be Ziyech over him. I think Foden is one to watch for you as could straight swap. He played non stop end of I last season and 80 odd mins away to Chelsea, he seems to avoid pep roulette now but will have to see.

                Ive made 4 points for first time just to fit 3 chelsea players in as fixtures insane for a month! clean sheets where it is at for me, only have a liverpool city and chelsea defender playing. now ive went double chelsea for the next month

        Hard one. I guess it's between Dennis and Jota...everyone thinks Jota will be benched so I guess Dennis is the smarter pick if you want game time assurance. Jota could well come on and score though. Think I'd go Jota.

    8. GreatCarragherReef

      Two routes-

      1. Keep Bamford and TAA, sell Jota and then upgrade to 2 x Chelsea def, TAA and Cancelo over a few weeks

      2. Sell Bamford and TAA for Christensen and Lukaku, exact cash.

      Sanchez
      Alonso, TAA, Semedo, Livra, Williams
      Salah, Jota, Gray, Traore, Allan
      Ronaldo, Bamford, Antonio

        Not specific to him but here is the BBC article. Raphinia is Leeds right now and they can’t really afford to miss him for any of their upcoming run. He’s not going to be so crucial to the Brazil squad that he needs to play all 3 but game week 8??? Best keep a bench just in case.

      A) Greenwood -> Raphina
      B) Pogba -> Raphina
      C) Keep both

        The quarantine issues with Raph is the risk here. Big ? Over whether he starts GW8. I think he has massive upside this week and if you want out of United anyway maybe drop Greenwood first unless your confident he starts?

      Would you take out Jota for Raphina for a -8? Already done TAA & Bamford to Lukaku and Christensen

        It's only a -4 and a good long term move. Raphinha could miss GW8 so just be sure you've someone to fill in. Livramento vs a Leeds without Bam or Raph will be handy to have.

          apologies for not already knowing but why could Raph miss GW 8? quarentine issues?

            He'll miss GW8 and 9 due to 10 day quarantine

                Actually I may be wrong there. Just read that during the 10 day quarantine, players will be allowed to leave isolation once a day to either train or play. So while GW8 might be a non starter, should be fine for GW9

                  ahh ok cool thnks, i was gonna bring him in, will steer clear now i reckon and play Jota, may just do TAA > Rudiger for a hit

            Brazil play Chile less than 40 hours before Leeds play Southampton.

            Could be messy getting back, even if he'd doesn't play that game vs Chile.

            *Hopefully* Prem Brazilians can get released after the 2nd game but probably wishful thinking.

        In short no - just keep Jota and your 4 points I guess.

      How does this look?

      Sanchez
      Reguilon Semedo Williams
      Salah Raphina Benrahma Jota
      Lukaku (c) Antonio ASM

      Bench: Steele, Allan, Livaramento, TAA

      Do you think it’s worth -4 for either:

      Williams —> Rudiger
      Or
      Jota—> Saka

        you need a better defence thats where most the points are.

        Ive had a 3 between liverpool chelsea and city so far, no others and im on 459 points. Those 3 are head and shoulders above the rest for cleanies

      A) Marcal -> Rudiger
      B) James -> Rudiger

      Defense of Semedo, Marcal, Livramento (TAA*, James*)

      Marcal dropped in predicted eleven here at FFS.

            RCB for Azpi.

            Christensen RCB or CCB. CCB spot vs Silva.

            Young Chalobah is in the mix too for RCB.

      Why are you giving the Ronaldo armband? I think he can be rested after a difficult game in the Champions League.
