Deputy Editor Tom joined Scoutcast regular Joe earlier today to look at the best captaincy candidates for Fantasy Premier League (FPL) in Gameweek 9.

Chelsea certainly have the most appealing fixture as they host Norwich City in Saturday’s early kick-off. 

That’s why it is no surprise to see Romelu Lukaku (£11.7m) top of the latest poll. Even team-mate Timo Werner (£8.6m) makes a rare appearance in the current top five!

However, Mohamed Salah’s (£12.8m) form, paired with Manchester United’s recent defensive struggles, ensure that this week’s captaincy decision maybe isn’t quite as clear-cut as we first thought.

In our video, we also discuss some of the less considered options, such as Kevin De Bruyne (£11.9m), Jamie Vardy (£10.6m), Son Heung-min (£10.1m) and Harry Kane (£12.1m), all of whom have under 3% backing in the poll.

        Pep pretty much makes his mind up on the night and morning before the match depending on how he's feeling about how his players are feeling.

        With so many to chose from other than say Ederson, Cancelo, Grealish, Rodrigo, Dias and Jesus plus KDB and Gundogan when fit anyone can play any position.

        And anyone of those can give way too, besides Ederson.

      Those transfers are illogical for that hit. Rudiger is back in training and van djik hasnt got a brilliant run of fixtures compared to city and chelsea. You should have sufficient cover if the likes of cancelo doesnt play...he is a player that can stay in your team for the full season because of the attacking returns. Mount has not featured and his stats arent brilliant especially considering his price....but eh its fpl and you never completely know i guess

    This game is proving that you have to attack Liverpool to compete with them. You can't just sit back and absorb their pressure. It will be interesting to see what Ole does on Sunday. If he attacks there could be a ton of goals.

      I doubt he will. He will play on the counter attack as he does against all the big teams. It’s actually when United tend to play better as opposed to playing against teams with a deep line who counter them.

      Bit of a headache (already have Lukaku), debate is whether I straight sell for Vardy, or maybe Jesus, or if I wait a week and switch him to Toney and upgrade a 4.5m to Son. Probably the latter.

          I have 2m in the bank and have that same midfield except with gray. I think if you have sufficient cover leave the team as it is as Son/Vardy have really good fixtures come gw11. I am planning on downgrading Dias to Janson as brentford have been very good defensively and have favourable fixture and then with the extra cas get rid of raphinha to bring in Son
