Mark Sutherns and Andy North are back ahead of Gameweek 11 of Fantasy Premier League (FPL) after contrasting fortunes last time out.

Mark is recording for our subscribers every Gameweek throughout the upcoming campaign, so sign up via this link in order to see his regular appearances.

The FPL BlackBox co-host arrives off the back of a disastrous short-term result from his Wildcard which saw his overall rank double, while Andy sneaked a small green arrow to edge himself up the ladder.

But sporting an early doors Christmas jumper, Mark is in an optimistic mood, particularly with his darling Diogo Jota seemingly set to start Gameweek 11 as a potential differential.

The pair give their views on Spurs’ prospects under new boss Antonio Conte and offer some advice to those wrestling bench dilemmas ahead of Friday’s Gameweek 11 deadline.

What makes you think CR7 is gonna have a blinder against City!?
Because he scored against weak opponents in Atalanta and a weak Spurs defence?

He did but he was also part of a defence that let two in from Crystal Palace and he hadn't done much in the league the few weeks prior to that. It's a tough one.

I know what you mean, I have a reluctance to bench top tier players regardless of fixtures, just think points potential for the others outweighs that this week. Good luck whichever way you decide.

I do quite like the fixture although I believe Newcastle are strong aerially, which potentially limits his goal threat.
They are producing just more than a goal a game despite being winless and then there's the question as to whether Duffy even starts.

          Have you watched Newcastle?

Worst team in the league right now. Significant manager downgrade when they sacked Bruce to someone who won't countenance leaving their own half.

Apologies, I interpreted 'before' as the time of the game.

Could be overstating a tad of course 🙂

But the Newcastle attack against Brighton defence looks a slam dunk call to me. Duffy also has considerable threat of his own. Can't see a better cs proposition this week.

Possibly not no, the other question is does he even start,
If I am not mistaken, Potter eluded to Dan Burn potentially being available?

90 minutes or 0 would be my take.

The days of nailed minutes look done. He's actually a very non Potter player given his almost complete inability on the ball. Now there are options at the back I'm guessing he'll get rotated out a fair bit.

(League tables often lie and I reckon Brighton were a better side last time than this and Duffy for White is much of the cause of that )

Livra as sub, if Duffy doesn’t start he won’t play barring injury. If he does he will be a menace on set plays to a porous Newcastle D

Yes, that is a good point.
Although if they are protecting the game and Lamptey starts, I could see him coming off as he may be unlikely to play a full 90 for a centre half and then Veltman shifting to the right-hand side.

Just playing around with some ideas.
A team where the 10 outfield players are City, Pool,Chelsea and Spurs now that Conte is in.
Is there about 5 too many rotation risks for the bench strength?
Jesus/ Broja could change based on how nailed they are.

    Ramsdale

    TAA Chilwell James Cancelo Regullion

    Salah Son Foden Jota

    Jesus

    Steele ESR Broja Davis (4.4)

Chilwell James Cancelo Regullion Foden Jota Jesus all rotation risks so you would need a much better bench … i doubt you would get 11 out every week, even before injuries or Covid

I think I would go for something like this and have a decent bench
          Ramsdale Martinez
          TAA Chilwell James Cancelo Livra
          Salah Raphina Foden/cheaper Jota 4.5
          Antonio Lukaku Hwang
          Martinez Livra Hwang 4.5

I wouldn't have Jesus, cheaper options out there who are nailed on and might even score better. I'm not keen on any Spurs asset apart from Son either, they're still quite average as of now.

Agree Jesus is probably too risky for a formation like this where the main striker needs to be really nailed. Spreading the Jesus and Broja cash makes more sense.
Conte will turn these guys around and they have fixtures too.

It could work and is different. I have been playing around as well and like the look of this.

      Sanchez – Foster
      TAA – Cancelo – James – Livra – White
      Salah – Foden – Jota – Gallagher – ESR
      CR7/Kane – Hwang – Broja

You could bench Antonio instead of selling, and play both Dias and Livra? Takes some balls, though. (I am a Villa man myself, so sort of hope Livra has a stinker. Second sub for me this week, to no fault of his own…)

Happy to play Antonio if I have him, more a plan to get cash to do Vardy to Kane if Kane performs well. and I dont want to miss Toney vs Norwich if I am getting Toney, seems a waste of getting him otherwise.

Thanks mate, how's your team looking?
The Antonio > Lukaku > Vardy transfers are killing me!
Plan is Vardy + Benny to Toney + Son during IB.

Possible brain fart last week - decided to go bold and lose both Vardy and Raph despite fixtures simply because I think both Leeds and Leicester look horribly mixed up. Got Foden and Antonio the other way.

Have ended up with mega bench to tide me over IB and fixture crush to come. Maybe the right play but just a couple of weeks too soon I'm thinking.

          Benching Edouard/Antonio Benrahma Gray!

Just for this week, would you prefer:

    A) Martinez, Antonio
    B) Sanchez, Trossard -4pts

See why you're looking at Trossard but I imagine that he'll be back to normal role this week.

Still a good call but marginal as a minus 4 unless you hold back on WC to give him a run of 3/4 matches to pay you back.

Will give him 3GWs. Think I'm dead ending my team in GW13.

In case of A, I'll do Raphinha to Trossard next week. Newcastle just feels so good to skip.

In case of B, I'm just benching Antonio btw, not getting rid.

          B then from me

My only real doubt about the Newcastle match up is whether Brighton have the aerial firepower to get Newcastle in open play. They're very vulnerable there as Tekkers showed - should really have been a hatrick. The low low block could cut out teams that try and play through them. Duffy and Dunk could feast on set pieces.

Will be interesting how that game proceeds. With Howe, I expect them to attack more.

              For sure

Have Wilson on one of my little lists. Can see Howe making them a decent prospect going forward but beyond the Norwich game and possibly Brentford fixtures look really poor until the new year so just a foot note for now.

They didn't score v LIV and CTY are a better team, defensively at least.

However, it is good that you have taken a view of the likely scoreline and you need to go with your gut.

Spurs played like 3-4-1-2 with son kane upfront, moura behind them. Regulion was advanced and sent a lot of cross. Kane was not interested as usual. Moura can be a decent cheap option if nailed.
