We’re starting to get a better picture of the situation in Gameweeks 27 and 30 of Fantasy Premier League (FPL) after the latest FA Cup results and draw.

GAMEWEEK 30

Three scheduled Premier League fixtures will definitely go ahead in Blank Gameweek 30: Arsenal v Aston Villa, Leicester City v Brentford and Wolverhampton Wanderers v Leeds United.

As many as seven league matches could be postponed because of the clash with the FA Cup quarter-finals, however, after the fifth-round draw kept apart many of the top-flight teams.

Gameweek 30 MatchCurrent statusGame will go ahead if…
Wolves v LeedsGuaranteed to go ahead in Gameweek 30*
Arsenal v Aston VillaGuaranteed to go ahead in Gameweek 30*
Leicester v BrentfordGuaranteed to go ahead in Gameweek 30*
Man City v BrightonPossible blankMan City are beaten by Peterborough in the FA Cup fifth round
Newcastle v C PalacePossible blankPalace are beaten by Stoke in the FA Cup fifth round
Norwich v ChelseaPossible blankChelsea are beaten by Luton *and* Norwich are beaten by Liverpool in the FA Cup fifth round
Watford v EvertonPossible blankEverton are beaten by Boreham Wood in the FA Cup fifth round
Burnley v SouthamptonPossible blankSouthampton are beaten by West Ham in the FA Cup fifth round
Spurs v West HamPossible blankSpurs are beaten by Middlesbrough *and* West Ham are beaten by Southampton in the FA Cup fifth round
Liverpool v Man UtdPossible blankLiverpool are beaten by Norwich in the FA Cup fifth round

*Covid/weather permitting

The full Blank Gameweek 30 picture will be known ahead of Gameweek 28.

GAMEWEEK 27

After the weekend’s cup results, a maximum of three matches could potentially be added to Gameweek 27 to make it a ‘double’ (or a ‘single’ for Leicester).

Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool will now definitely blank in Gameweek 27.

The list of outstanding fixtures that could fall here are:

  • Burnley v Leicester City
  • Leeds United v Aston Villa
  • Aston Villa v Burnley
  • Wolves v Watford

Only Leeds v Aston Villa of that foursome was scheduled to be televised (on Amazon), so it could be that this fixture is saved for a later date to avoid a clash with the FA Cup matches on TV.

The most urgent game that needs rescheduling is Burnley v Leicester, with the Foxes having four outstanding fixtures but otherwise having no free midweeks until Gameweek 33 *if* they continue to progress in Europe.

Leicester’s elimination does, at least, majorly lower the possibility of a Triple Gameweek for Brendan Rodgers’ side, as they should have enough free windows to fulfill their fixtures.

    Wanted to check...
    1) Is Dennis a keep for DGW26? He is suspended for GW24 and is back for GW25 right?
    2) Why is everyone selling Regillion?
    3) Is Son a better option than KDB in view of DGW26 and cpt for GW24

    Thanks!

      2. He's had some fitness issues - not clear whether he's been in/out team because of underlying injury or inability to turn out 90mins regularly in such a demanding role. Plenty of rotation with Sessegnon possible.

      3. I think KDB is the better captain for 24. From 26 I'd prefer Son as City will prioritise UCL

Whats all our thinking on Man City midfielders? I have Bilva on my cut list for a while now but at this satge I'm thinking I'm just going to keep? With pep roulette you just know whenever you sell one to buy another, the one you buy probably wont play.
If I did not have any city and was looking to buy one these would be my preference or what do you guys think?
    1. KDB (if you can afford, maybe rested in CL weeks though)
    2. Foden (high ceiling, seems to be first choice thru the middle of front 3)
    3. Bilva (Although he is not hauling he is guaranteed to start, well as nailed as can be with Pep roulette.

Mahrez, Sterling, Gundo all wont get enough mins IMO. Mahrez seems to play all the cup games and CL and not so much the PL for whatever reason.

It’s a lottery really, any of them can start in CL or in PL depending on peps tactics, kdb is the only one I feel safe owning this week as he was dragged early in the fa cup so I’ll cap down him

Not sure the United double up is going to be fruitful given their shaky form, and KDB minutes could be managed in PL in favour of CL.

Agree. But that's why I'm on Son - because knowing I'll want to rotate premium assets for a while burns a transfer each week leaving me needing hits to sort more pressing issues (e.g. getting rid of the Brighton assets I punted on during their last DGW and I feel compelled to hold)

Looks well set up. I'd roll the transfer. 2 free transfers will be valuable ahead of Gw25 and to get Salah back when lots will take hits to get him.

I like Bruno considering if they're rotating pens it's his turn. Or else I'd go Trent or Bowen to gain something from owning them

How much points gain would you expect from a Free Hit card & what would you consider ideal?

I played a defensive FH in 19 and gained 18 points on my team (Ronaldo blanked and James OG) but in a blank GW like 30 you could probably gain 35/40 points plus the other points you'll get around 28 - 32 not stocking up on assets from Burnley and the likes.

BGW 30 is definitely a lock in for FH. I'm trying to wrap my head around where to use the other.

How nailed is Ramsey for Villa? Need to sell Docoure and thinking getting in Ramsey will save some cash.

As nailed as can be so. Will Coutinho affect this tho?

Coutinho is playing in the front 3.

McGinn, Sanson, Nakamba and Luiz are competing with Ramsey for a berth. I feel pretty confident that Ramsey McGinn and Luiz are first choice.

Start Ramsey at home against Leeds or white away at wolves?
