We round up the key Fantasy Premier League (FPL) talking points of the day in FPL Daily, a weekday series that serves non-Premier League matchdays and days when we don’t bring you a team news/press conference round-up.

MAN UTD V BRIGHTON: DOUBLE GAMEWEEK 25 TEAM NEWS

There weren’t any fresh fitness concerns reported by either Ralf Rangnick or Graham Potter ahead of the final match of Double Gameweek 25 on Tuesday.

Edinson Cavani (£8.4m) won’t recover from a groin injury in time to face the Seagulls, which may bode well for Cristiano Ronaldo‘s (£12.5m) prospects of being handed successive starts in the league.

“Fred will be available again. He’ll also be part of the group for tomorrow. Edinson is still out, the same with Nema [Matic]. The rest is, well, Alex [Telles] is back again in the squad and already was part of the group for the Southampton game and he will also be available.” – Ralf Rangnick

Potter has the same squad available to him as he did on Saturday, with no-one returning and Lewis Dunk‘s (£4.8m) knee strapping not a hindrance to him playing.

“We will be as we were ahead of the Watford game. Enock Mwepu isn’t far away from being available. Jeremy Sarmiento’s rehab is going well so he’s getting closer. Lewis Dunk has been fine, he has trained well and recovered well. He’s in a good place.” – Graham Potter

GREALISH OUT

Jack Grealish (£7.5m) won’t shake off a recurring shin injury in time to face Sporting Lisbon on Tuesday night, although his manager said he was “better” when facing the media on Monday.

“He is better, but for tomorrow he is not available alongside Cole Palmer and Gabriel [Jesus].” – Pep Guardiola

That prognosis could mean anything in Pep-speak and should Grealish and Gabriel Jesus (£8.5m) again miss out in Gameweek 26, the competition for places in the attacking trident is much less fierce and potentially bodes well for Phil Foden (£8.0m) et al against Spurs.

TRIPPIER FRACTURES FOOT

No sooner had the returning Kieran Trippier (£5.0m) made his mark on FPL again than he is sidelined for weeks, potentially months after fracturing the fifth metatarsal bone in his foot.

The defender had registered two goals, one clean sheet and 27 points in four matches for Newcastle but limped out of the match against Aston Villa on Saturday.

“Trippier underwent an X-ray immediately after the game and scans have shown a fracture to the fifth metatarsal bone in his left foot. Everyone at the club wishes Kieran a speedy recovery.” – Newcastle club statement

Likely deputy Javier Manquillo (£3.9m) would have been one for the watchlist for the run-in but he too sustained an ankle ligament injury in Gameweek 25 and assessment is ongoing on him.

    2FTs
Thinking of doing Bruno and Bachman out for Salah and Ramsdale so that I don’t have to FH in 27. That would been I just have to bench my 3 Pool players. This would mean I would have DDG and Ramsdale as two rotating keepers. Thoughts?

Nice. I got Pope and Ramsdale as well, that make me tend to BB this GW tho...

Will there be a double double gameweek again for the rest of season?
    If there aren't.

I'm thinking to bring triple Burnley to BB this GW, and save FT on GW 27 as I maxed out Burnley on GW 26
GW 26 BB with triple Burnley
GW 27 SAVE FT (3 LIV, 1ARS on bench)
GW 28-30 FT to aim for non-blank GW 30 players

At the end I still got all the chip from GW 31 (2FH, TC, WC, except BB)
    Possible to WC on 31

    How does it sound?

Sorry but let me re-phrase it.
Double-double gameweek (consecutive DGW) for ONE club, just like Burnley has on GW 26-27

Its great that you're doing enough planning to avoid using chips. I'm dead against the FH chip as I believe it takes skill out of the game.

That being said, you have all chips remaining. Surely it is folly to not use at least 1 FH or WC over the next 3GWs

      1. fplgaruda

It come with a cost tho.

I took many hits this GW just for making sure I got triple Burnley on board and max 4 players from ARS and LIV players.

But I think BB 26 and save FT with own 11 playing players on 27 will gave me advantage later on. Moreover still has many chip intact to attack til 38

Well you've made your bed now lie in it. There probably won't be another double-double but we will see. Perhaps Leicester might.

Maybe Leicester as they still have 3 games to rearrange.

Think triple Burnley is a bad move though.... they're bottom of the league with only 1 win all season

      1. fplgaruda

But if you assumed that triple Burnley will be my bench for BB 26 then the same triple will be my starter on 27.
it's not that bad, isn't it?

It's still not worth it given their league position and that it takes up 3 squad places.

Would you triple up on Norwich or Watford if they had back to back double gameweeks for example?

I think maybe a choice player from that club (or two if you really want to attack those fixtures and don't have any better alternatives) would be more than enough

In my opinion Burnley has something to offer than Norwich and Watford.
Weghorst and Cornet look good on back on that side.
But will think of it, cheers. Appreciated much.

    TAA Cancelo Digne
    Bruno Jota Foden Raphinha Bowen
    Ronaldo King

    (DDG Broja Dier Livra)
    2 FTs & 1.4m

Thoughts on these transfers for -8?

OUT: Ronaldo, Bruno, Foden & Gunn
IN: Jiminez, Salah, Son & Ramsdale

    11 starters for GW27 with 1 FT
Ramsdale in place if Arsenal have a double GW28
6 starters for blank GW30 assuming WHU beat SOT

DDG dont have any double in future. Straight swap fro Ramsdale, even - 4 will be super worth it

Yes but then I wont have a playing GK for GW27 as Arsenal have a blank and DDG has Watford at home.

Also United dont have double now but if they blank in GW30 they will have a double after that.

Utd's double will be in 36 along with all the other rearranged games from 30.

Sa is not a bad alternative to Ramsdale for your gw27 GK conundrum as he has a double in 26, plays in 27 and 30, plus Wolves have some good fixtures coming up

Yeah agreed but I will probably WC around 32-34 so dont mind DDG staying on the bench as anyways im done with premium strikers so have cash to spread.
Sa is decent but I think I will get one of their CBs or RAN next week
Arsenal also have a chance of DGW28 and better DGW26 fixtures which makes me lean towards Ramsdale.

I've done a similar move & am carrying Ramsdale & DDG now for a few weeks, let's be honest, money is no object at the moment, in my own team I only have Salah & Son as premiums with no premium strikers so this isn't a season where we are scrimping for every penny.

Ramsdale this week, DDG covers next week and then you know you can release the funds if you need it down the line.

With players like Saka, Coutinho, Martinelli, Jimenez, Cornet etc coming into prominence, money is not a problem.

Yeah agreed. Im moving to similar setup of only 2 premium mids (Salah & Son) so money is available and Ramsdale/DDG provide a great set of fixtures. Will be left with more than 1m after my transfers this week and I anyways plan to downgrade Jota to Coutinho for GW27 which will free up more cash.

Same, Jota to Coutinho, DCL to Broja and then Son to Saka/Martinelli in GW30 leaves me a ton of funds to work with, not having premium strikers allows this.

Ramsdale is a great long term investment.

I can see this happening. Watford will sit deep under Hodgson and will need to be broken down. Ings much better player in tight spaces than Watkins. Watkins brilliant at pressing from the front and putting defenders under pressure, but not much of that will be needed vs Watford imo as Villa should have the lions share of possession.

If both fit then Weghorst for B2B doubles. Also need to factor what you will do in 27 and 30

Does Antonio & Trossard to Jimenez & Cornet for free sound decent? Leaves me with this:

    Sanchez
    TAA / Reguilon / Emerson
    Salah / Bruno / Jota / Bowen / Cornet
    Jimenez / King

    DDG // Cancelo / Livra / Idah

Actually I only looked at the moves and not the team. Agree with this about Cancelo

Yeah, I'm considering that as well. Especially with no guarantee that Regi and Emerson start both games.

Can't wait to get rid of at least one of them.

Jimenez the best Ronaldo replacement atm?

Double in GW26 and no blank in GW27 & 30 with good fixtures.

Yes indeed. Im not against using FH in GW27 or 30 but Jimenez would still be one of top forward picks for the 3 gameweeks.

Yes, prior to last week no one was looking at a Wolves attacker, maybe we are reading too much into the Spurs result?

Well tbf they missed a few games because of Covid and even Jimenez missed one because of injury.
Now they have good fixtures with doubles and no blanks and Jimenez has some form too.

    A - Kane and Saka
    B - Son and Jimmenez

    Option A means I'd have 5 blanks in 27.

Again depends if using FH in 27. A if you are, B if your not

Got to be B then if you are not FH27. You need to think beyond this GW.

I'm defo doing DDG to Ramsdale. Would you also do CR7 to Kane/Laca/Jim or rather Martinelli to Saka?
    FH in GW27.

    DDG*
    TAA/Cancelo/Laporte
    Salah(TC)/Jota/Bowen/Ramsey
    CR7*/Dennis/Edouard

    Foster/Coufal/Martinelli*/Duffy

If you dont see yourself holding Martinelli beyond this double then might as well switch to Saka. Not sure which other mid you could sell, so otherwise I'd probably go for Kane

    What to do with Reguilon?
    A- Play
    B- Bench
C- Sell for -4 , if this option for who plz?

    Ramsdale
    TAA-White-Reguilon
    Salah (TC)-Bowen-Jota-Coutinho
    Kane-Antonio-King

    Guaita-Cancelo-Webster-Allan

B - I would normally say risk it as a doubler but Cancelo is the alternative and can easily haul DD

Never bench cancelo I can assure you . He can outscore most dgw players in 1 game

Start Cancelo over him I guess. Im currently benching Dier for Cancelo.

I see alot asking on here about advice for transfers which is the norm. I'm assuming everyone will have 3 Liverpool going into DGW26, asking if you should buy any Arsenal assets depends on whether you will be using FH in 27, particularly if you have an Arsenal asset already as that will mean you will have at least 5 players blanking in GW27. Not worth any hits in GW27 so something to bear in mind.

Fair point - does help if posters clarify whether or not theyre usuling FH in 27 as, for example, Atimis does above

      1. Tonyawesome69
        • 7 Years
        4 years, 2 months ago

Agree with this. It seems like most post will have an arsenal option but we have no idea of chip strategy

      2. TopBinFC
        • 4 Years
        4 years, 2 months ago

Absolutely, just putting it out there, we all want the best team for DGW26 but also want to avoid hits in GW27, so need to weigh up what suits our approach best. I'm not using FH in 27 as I should get 11 players out without a hit.

        1. TopBinFC
          • 4 Years
          4 years, 2 months ago

I should add that I'm going without any Arsenal assets, could haunt me but willing to take risk to avoid FH in 27 and any hits. The Brentford fixture could hurt, not worried about Wolves as that will be tight game.

Morning! Any advice on the below moves appreciated.

    Sa
    TAA Robertson Cancelo Tierney
    Salah Bruno Raphinha Bowen
    Edouard Broja
    (Sanchez, Ait Nouri, Martinelli, Watkins)
    1FT 0.9itb. FH in GW27.

Original plan was Bruno -> Saka (with Watkins/Edouard -> Kane lined up for GW28), but after a sharp loss of confidence in Raphinha (& Watkins) after his last couple performances, I'm looking at alternatives:

    A) Raphinha -> Saka
    B) Bruno -> Saka, Watkins -> Kane for -4

Also bear in mind that if I do A, bringing in Kane in 28 will still involve a hit.

    1. Tonyawesome69
      • 7 Years

B - take the hit now and get Spurs extra game. Stick with Raphinha's double

I'd stick with Raph, the subbing will surely generate a response. Not playing RAN? I think he'll play Leicester game and hopefully Arsenal

      A) Saka & Ramsdale/Tierney

    I’d like peoples thoughts Dgw26
Do I play Coady or Edouard ?
My dilemma is wolves are good at clean sheets and plays every game but Edouard can have sporadic hauls but is likely to rotate

    1. Tonyawesome69
      • 7 Years

I’m thinking of playing both but it would mean dropping either cancelo Digne coutinho or Bowen . All single game week players but the fixtures look like they could all get good points . I suppose maybe Digne for coady and play Edouard is an option but Villa play Watford

        1. Tonyawesome69

    Would you:

    A) Salah (TC)
    B) Bench Boost

Planning to navigate 27 with 2FTs and save the FH:

    RAMSDALE
    TRENT, TIERNEY, Cancelo
    SALAH, JOTA, Bruno, Bowen
    DENNIS, KING, Antonio

    Ddg, BROWNHILL, Lamptey, Dawson
    Bank 0.0m, 1FT, BB, 1FH, WC left

You reckon? I thought it looked alright:

        DDG (lee)
        Brownhill (bha/TOT)
        Lamptey (BUR)
        Dawson (NEW)

Was planning to WC28 so would likely have more fodder on the bench after 27.
